[ARABNEWS] Somali pirates have freed seven Indian sailors detained for close to four years in exchange for an undisclosed ransom, Somali officials and a maritime monitoring group said on Friday.
At one time the pirates made millions of dollars in ransoms from seizing ships sailing the Horn of Africa nation's waters, but increased patrols by international navies on the Indian Ocean have reduced incidences of piracy.
The sailors, held since the pirates hijacked the Panama-flagged ship MT Asphalt Venture in September 2010, were freed on Thursday. Eight of their colleagues were freed by the pirates along with the ship in April 2011 for a ransom.
Their captors said at the time that they would only release the seven sailors when their fellow Somali pirates held by Indian authorities were freed.
It was not clear if their demand had been met.
Kenyan-based Ecoterra International, which monitors maritime activity on the Indian Ocean, confirmed the sailors' release.
"The remaining seven hostages... were finally freed by their captors against a ransom and arrived in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, from where they will be flown directly to India," Ecoterra said in a statement.

[AnNahar] Seven Egyptian soldiers were maimed Friday in an kaboom near El-Arish, a week after a deadly attack in the same area of the Sinai peninsula killed 30 soldiers, a security official said.
"Two officers and five soldiers were maimed in a bomb kaboom against their vehicle south of El-Arish," the capital of North Sinai province, the source said.
The bomb had been planted on a road used by army patrols and police.
On October 24, a jacket wallah killed 30 soldiers in the Sinai bordering the Gazoo Strip.
Egyptian authorities on Wednesday began demolishing houses along its border with the Paleostinian territory to set up a buffer zone.
Last week's attack was the deadliest targeting the security forces since the army toppled Islamist president Mohammed Morsi in July last year.
[ARABNEWS] Libyan Army special forces have seized back four barracks from armed Death Eater groups in the eastern city of Benghazi, a commander said on Friday, after two weeks of heavy fighting which has killed at least 210 people.
The army, backed by forces of a former general and other fighters, have waged an offensive against Death Eater groups in Libya's second-largest city -- part of the chaos gripping the oil producer three years after the overthrow of Muammar Qadaffy ...who single-handedly turned a moderately prosperous kingdom into a dictator's fantasyland and was then murdered by his indignant subjects 42 years later... .
Special forces commander Wanis Bukhamada told Rooters his forces controlled the eastern exit road from Benghazi and four camps, including the former army headquarters which it had lost with three others to the Death Eater in August.
The army had already said it had expelled Islamists from the airport area and the Feb. 17 camp, one of their strongholds in the port city.
"The army is controlling 80 percent of the city and is cleansing several area of members of Ansar al-Sharia ...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet... ," Bukhamada said, referring to a group blamed by Washington for a 2012 attack on the US consulate that killed the American ambassador.
The army took a Rootersnews hound on a tour to showcase what officers said was territory it now controlled. Residents said more army reinforcements had arrived in the past few days.
Col. Mahdi Al-Barghathi, commander of a tank battalion, said fighters from Ansar al-Sharia had fled to the area of the seaport. Clashes continued in the west of the city, he added.
At least 18 people died in the past two days, bringing the corpse count from two weeks of fighting to 210, medics said.
The struggle is part of a wider conflict in the North African state where former rebels who helped oust Qadaffy are fighting for power and a share of the country's oil revenues. Libya is divided between rival tribes and political factions with two governments vying for legitimacy since an gang from the western city of Misrata seized Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... in August, forcing the internationally recognized Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni to move east.

[AF.REUTERS] A crowd stoned to death a young man in northeast Congo on Friday before burning and eating his corpse, witnesses said, in apparent revenge for a series of attacks by Ugandan rebels. Now that's a tough neighborhood.
The incident in the town of Beni followed a number of overnight raids in the area blamed on the Islamist group ADF-NALU, who are thought to have massacred more than 100 people this month, using hatchets and machetes to kill their victims. Now the Islam infection is spreading to the Congo.
Witnesses said the man, who has not been identified, aroused suspicion on a bus when passengers discovered he could not speak the local Swahili language and that he was carrying a machete. "Hey there, stranger! Yeah, you, the guy with the machete!... Y'ain't from around here, air you?"
Speaking from the town of Beni, Congo's President Joseph Kabila said the ADF-NALU militants would face the same fate as the rebel movement M23, which was defeated by a U.N.-backed government offensive last year. Wikipedia sez "The ADF was formed by puritanical Muslim Ugandans of the Tabliq sect who merged with the remnants of another rebel group, the National Army for the Liberation of Uganda. The main figure of the group was Jamil Mukulu, a former Catholic. The members were largely from central Uganda." Uganda claims the group is affiliated with al-Shabaab in Somalia.
"There is no question of negotiation with the terrorists," Kabila said in a speech at a local hotel. "They will be defeated as was the case with the M23. And it will be very soon."
ADF-NALU is an alliance of groups opposed to the Ugandan government that has operated from bases in neighbouring Congo since the mid-2000s, undermining Kinshasa's grip on the area. I'm guessing that the "Tabliq sect" stems from Tabligi Jamaat or similarly named itinerant preachers (and al-Qaeda recruiters).
The movement was blamed for the deaths of 14 people, killed early on Thursday in the village of Kampi ya Chui, bringing the total death toll this month to at least 107, said Teddy Kataliko, president of the Civil Society of Beni. Beni seems to be their favored stomping grounds.
Tensions ran high in the town on Friday morning with around 100 demonstrators blocking the road from the airport into town, throwing stones and waving machetes to demand greater government protection against the rebels.
Local government officials could not immediately be reached for comment. Earlier in the week, the government sought to downplay the threat posed by the group, which it had previously said was defeated in an operation earlier this year. Swarming in like Boko Haram and killing a hundred people with machetes and hatchets doesn't sound "defeated."

Dear Muslims, this here is no hooey:
Steer well clear of Kampo-ya-Chui!
They're all on the lookout
For swell Muslim cookout --
They smell it, the place goes kablooey.
These Christians aren't keen on conversion
By blade-happy "nomadic herdsmen."
To banish these vermin,
Per last Sunday's sermon,
They'll turn knife and fork on the swordsmen.
[ARABNEWS] Yemen's Iranian catspaws, who are in control of the capital, gave the president 10 days starting Friday to form a government, hinting at a takeover attempt if their demands are not met.
The Shiite group, also known as Houthis, rallied some 30,000 tribal leaders in Sanaa, where they delivered a communique warning President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi that "all revolutionary options are open" if he failed to form a government.
"Our next meeting will be at the headquarters of the decision making," said Deif Allah Rassam, front man of the so-called Popular Tribal Alliance. A second speaker at the rally, Naguib Al-Mansouri, called for the formation of a "salvation military council."
The government formation is part of a UN deal to reach a peaceful settlement to Yemen's political crisis.
The deal signed by the Houthis, Hadi and the rest of Yemen's political factions, stipulated that the Houthis withdraw their forces from all cities and hand all captured barracks to the military. The communique that came out of Friday's rally however called for the establishment of "revolutionary committees" across the country, in reference to the group's militias that have swept through the capital and other cities. The group has previously stated that its committees will continue to fight Al-Qaeda holy warriors and uproot corruption.
Hadi, the president, said a few days ago that the army is the only force entitled to defend the country against terrorism and the only force that should be fighting against Al-Qaeda, calling on the Houthis to disband their committees and withdraw. Many of the attendees of the Friday rally pumped their fists in celebration while chanting a trademark Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to Americaâ¢, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... slogan known as the scream: "Death to America, Death to Israel, Damn Jews and Victory for Islam." The chant resembles an iconic Iranian revolutionary slogan, and the group is suspected of having strong ties to Iran.

[Ynet] Lebanese national Muhammad Amadar was incarcerated Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! in Lima; he is suspected of targeting the Israeli Embassy, as well as popular Israeli tourist destinations and Jewish centers.
Peru's Counterterrorism Unit foiled a Hezbollah terror plot this week when it arrested a Lebanese man suspected of leading a terror cell planning to attack Jewish sites and popular Israeli tourist spots in the South American country.
Peruvian security forces found materials for the production of military-grade explosives, detonators, TNT explosives and gunpowder in the apartment of Muhammad Amadar, 28.
Amadar, who was arrested on Monday, has already gathered intelligence on Israeli and Jewish targets, including the Israeli Embassy in Lima, Chabad houses and Jewish community centers.
He was living in Lima's Surquillo neighborhood, close to the neighborhood that houses the Israeli Embassy and the homes of the Israeli diplomats.
In his interrogation, Amadar denied having any ties to Hezbollah and claimed he was on his way to the US, to meet with his Peruvian-American wife.
Peru's Interior Minister Daniel Urresti issued an official statement saying a man with ties to an "international terror organization" was arrested following intelligence information. An arrest warrant was issued by the Third National Criminal Court for Organized Crime.
The terror cell Amadar put together is linked to Hezbollah's vast network in the Triple Border area between Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, where there's a large Arab population.
According to reports in Peru, the terror cell Amadar put together is linked to Hezbollah's vast network in the Triple Border area between Argentina ...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita... , Paraguay and Brazil, where there's a large Arab population.
Israeli security forces were briefed by Peruvian authorities on the investigation. Peru has also increased security for the Israeli Embassy in Lima, as well as for Israeli tourist destinations and Jewish centers across the country, particularly in the capital.
Israel's Counterterrorism Unit and the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem refused to comment on the report.
"A Hezbollah operative was arrested in Peru after he started building an infrastructure for terrorist attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets in Peru," Israeli security officials said.
"They found explosives in his apartment. The man is linked to Hezbollah's international terrorism infrastructure. It proves what we've been saying for a long time - Hezbollah, sent by Iran, or Iran via Hezbollah, are building a terror infrastructure in South and Central America to attack Jewish and Israeli targets, Israeli tourists, embassies and Jewish centers.
"This infrastructure is also meant to be used for attacks against Western targets and for attempts to smuggle weaponry to the United States," the officials went on to say.
A Chinese court today upheld death sentences for three Uigur men involved in the gruesome knife attacks that killed 31 passengers at a railway station in Kunming city earlier this year. The attacks occurred on March 1, when a group of Uigurs went on a stabbing spree at the crowded railway station, killing 31 people and injuring more than 140 others.
Iskandar Ehet, Turgun Tohtunyaz and Hasayn Muhammad were sentenced to death on September 12 for leading a terrorist organization and intentional homicide. Investigators found that the three had been training recruits for terrorist acts since December 2013, including the attack at Kunming railway station.
The Kunming attack was reported to have been carried out by militants from the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM). All three men as well as some female associates were arrested for planning to illegally cross the Chinese border on February 27, just days ahead of the attack.
After failing to establish contact with Iskandar, five members of the group carried out their attack as originally planned on March 1. Four were gunned down by police at the scene, while a woman, Patigul Tohti, who had been shot and injured, was captured.
Patigul was handed a life sentence. The court ruled that although her criminal acts were extreme, because she was pregnant at the time of her arrest, she would be given a life sentence.

At the end of March, authorities "arrested three Iraqi citizens suspected of providing support to the criminal organization known as the Islamic State (IS)," Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... 's attorney general said in a statement.
"They are thought to have been planning a terrorist attack in Europe," the statement said.
Swiss media reported the arrests at the end of September, saying Switzerland's Federal Intelligence Service had been tipped off by a Western counterpart which intercepted the men's phone calls.
The trio, according to media reports, allegedly helped around 40 jihadists residing in Switzerland to travel to the Middle East to join IS. They also purportedly sought to procure explosives and toxic gas for an attack.
The attorney general's office said Friday the men were suspected of providing support to the Islamic State organization and of planning attacks with explosives and toxic gases.
It also said the three were suspected of encouraging illegal entry into Switzerland and residency in the wealthy Alpine nation.
Swiss Sherlocks, with assistance from European and U.S. authorities, were attempting to identify possible accomplices and uncover networks both in Switzerland and elsewhere, the statement said.
It added that Switzerland's top prosecutor was currently overseeing 20 probes linked to jihadist activity.

[Iran Press TV] Iraqi soldiers, backed by volunteer forces, have liberated two areas in the northern strategic oil town of Baiji from the ISIL Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... hard boys, army sources say.
On Friday, Iraqi armed forces "entered the town of Baiji ... and moved into al-Sinai and al-Tamim neighborhoods and cleared them," said Staff Lieutenant General Abdulwahab al-Saadi, the commander of the military units stationed in the area.
Following heavy fighting overnight, the Iraqi forces managed to push into Baiji, located some 210 kilometers (130 miles) north of the capital, Baghdad, taking control of the two southern districts.
An Iraqi army major general, speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... , said the army operation was interrupted by an ISIL assault on the Iraqi command headquarters at Tikrit University, located 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of Baghdad.
According to the official, three bombers tried to blow up their explosives-laden vehicles at the university, but security forces foiled their attack and killed a number of Takfiri hard boys.
Iraqi troops have recently stepped up their efforts to clear more territories and retake full control of Baiji from the ISIL terrorists.
Baiji is placed on a main road to the northern city of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , which is controlled by the ISIL krazed killers, and its liberation can choke off the supply lines of the hard boys.

[CNN] Jana was a 19-year-old in her final year of high school, with dreams of becoming a doctor. Then, ISIS came to her village last August, and her world collapsed.
"One should remember that enslaving the families of the kuffar -- the infidels -- and taking their women as concubines is a firmly established aspect of the Shariah, or Islamic law"
She described to me in chilling detail, how the jihadis first demanded that members of her Yazidi religious minority convert to Islam. Then they stripped villagers of their jewelry, money and cellphones. They separated the men from the women.
A United Nations report explained what happened next. ISIS "gathered all the males older than 10 years of age at the local school, took them outside the village by pick-up trucks, and shot them."
Among those believed dead were Jana's father and eldest brother.
A different fate lay in store for the women.
Jana described how girls like herself were separated from older women, then bussed to the city of Mosul.
There they were put in a big three-story house with hundreds of other young women. The men of ISIS came periodically, and chose up to three and four girls at a time to take home with them.
"These women have been treated like cattle," explained Nazand Begikhani, an adviser to the Kurdistan Regional Government on gender issues.
"They have been subjected to physical and sexual violence, including systematic rape and sex slavery. They've been exposed in markets in Mosul and in Raqqa, Syria, carrying price tags."
Perhaps more importantly, Begikhani is also a researcher at the UK-based University of Bristol's Gender and Violence Research Center. According to the field research and testimonials of Begikhani's team, ISIS kidnapped more than 2,500 Yazidi women.
Meanwhile Narin Shiekh Shamo, a Yazidi activist based in Iraqi Kurdistan has compiled the names of at least 4,601 Yazidi women currently missing.
In the first month after the mass abductions, Shamo says she was receiving calls and messages from up to 70 different hostages a day. Now, she can't reach a single hostage.
After more than a decade reporting on conflict in the Middle East, I was still ill-prepared to hear about the scale of this kidnapping and modern day enslavement.
Suddenly, the words of a 19-year-old ISIS imprisoned fighter whom I interviewed last weekend in a Kurdish prison in northern Syria made sense.
The young man, horribly disfigured from bullet wounds to his abdomen and arm received during his year of fighting on the frontlines, described how ISIS attracted fresh recruits with the offer of cash and "wives."
ISIS actually justified its enslavement of Yazidis in its own online magazine.
"One should remember that enslaving the families of the kuffar -- the infidels -- and taking their women as concubines is a firmly established aspect of the Shariah, or Islamic law," the group announced in the ISIS publication "Dabiq."

The Social Justice Warriors (SJW) would have you believe women are similarly oppressed in America.
#2
Frankly, I don't think the Social Justice Warriors give a damn about Yazidi women. They can't vote Democrat, ergo they and their plight are irrelevant.
#3
The NOW and SJW narrative doesn't allow criticism of any Moslem organizations. The agenda only allows criticism of the US and white males in particular. Because most of the ISIS men are not white males, there is nothing to criticize.

The Court of Social Justice Warriors declared Ben Affleck as wiser and more civilized than Bill Mahar. Mahar, an active women verbal abuser had his pass revoked after comments concerning the violence built into the islamic system and was subjected to a level 2 shaming. There is no current public call to repent, but further thought violations will increase the shaming to level 3 opening the way to economic sanctions such as the cancellation of his show and business venture with the New York Mets.
People stampeded and cattle raped are not 1st world problems. Your current 1st world problem topic is catcalls.
That is all.
(ISIS actually justified its enslavement of Yazidis in its own online magazine.

[Ynet] Temple Mount opened amid heavy Israeli security presence, as police brace for 'day of rage' in already tense Jerusalem.
Clashes broke out between young Paleostinians and Israeli security forces following Friday prayers, after the Temple Mount reopened with a heavy police presence and tight age restrictions.
At the Qalandia crossing between the northern West Bank and Jerusalem, festivities erupted following a march organized by Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,. According to Paleostinian reports, several youths were maimed as riot police used tear gas to disperse dozens of rock-throwing Paleostinians.

[ARABNEWS] Moslem men over 50 prayed at the Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem's Old City on Friday amid intense security, a day after Israel closed all access to the sacred compound for the first time in more than a decade following violence on the streets.
More than 1,000 Israeli police were deployed around the Old City's cobbled streets and the ancient gates that lead to Al Aqsa, a spokeswoman said, in addition to undercover anti-riot units and observation balloons hovering in the sky.
Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial... denounced Thursday's closure of the site as "tantamount to a declaration of war" and his political party called for a "day of rage" in protest at the move, prompting heightened security throughout the city.
Worshippers wanting to enter the ornate marble-and-stone compound, which contains the golden Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa mosque, the third holiest shrine in Islam, queued behind blue barricades to show their identification papers to the police.
More than 4,000 people attended midday prayers, police said. There were a few isolated disturbances, including firecrackers being set off and an attempt by a group of young Paleostinian men to break through the police cordon, but no serious violence.
Israeli authorities shut all access to Al Aqsa after the shooting of Yehuda Glick, a far-right religious activist who has led a campaign for Jews to be allowed to pray at the site, which they refer to as Temple Mount.
Glick, 48, was shot as he left a conference in Jerusalem on Wednesday. The man suspected of shooting him, a Paleostinian from the neighborhood of Abu Tor in the eastern, mainly Arab side of the city, was rubbed out by Israeli forces before dawn on Thursday, following an exchange of gunfire.
Locals said it was the first time all access to Al Aqsa had been banned since the second Intifada, or Paleostinian uprising, erupted in 2000. But Jordanian authorities, who are responsible for administering the site, said it was the first full closure of the compound since the 1967 Middle East war.

[IsraelTimes] Israeli military electronic systems identified a rocket launch from the Gazoo Strip Saturday night, the army said, a rare incident since the end of Operation Protective Edge two months ago.
Military officials said the rocket apparently fell inside the Gazoo territory and thus did not trigger warning sirens in the surrounding Israeli communities.
There was no word on who was responsible for the launch.
There have also been two cases of sporadic rocket fire out of the Strip since the summer conflict.
Last Saturday senior Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, official Mahmoud al-Zahar criticized Israel for allegedly delaying the entry of construction materials into Gazoo and warned that if the rehabilitation process in the Paleostinian enclave does not speed up and become more efficient, the situation in the Strip may "erupt."
The New People's Army (NPA) has released another video of two Philippine soldiers the militants abducted two months ago. The video showed NPA militants with abducted soldiers PFC Marnel Cinches and PFC Jerrel Yorong, at a camp located in the mountains.
NPA spokesman Allan Juanito gave a statement in the video. He said the government refused to grant the NPA demand for a 10-day suspension of military operations (SOMO) in exchange for the safe release of the soldiers.
Juanito said the Philippine military has launched operations to rescue the soldiers. He claimed that seven armed encounters have resulted in 11 casualties to military troops.
Juanito said the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) reduced its request from a 10-day SOMO to 7 days. He said that they would free the two soldiers if they get a release order from the NDFP.

[AnNahar] The army said Friday it has tossed in the clink Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! several people suspected of attacking soldiers and seized weapons and ammunition from a depot in the northern city of Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... The military said in a communique that eight Lebanese were apprehended for involvement in shooting attacks and for tossing grenades at military posts.
It also arrested six suspicious Syrians who had been wandering in Tripoli without proper identification.
The Army Command stated: "During a patrolling inspection in Tripoli's Souk al-Khodra, the army found a 107mm booby-trapped rocket and 5 bombs for remote bombing, weighing about 23 kg, that were placed by gunnies to target army troops, during the implementation of the recent army operations in the town. The army then imposed a gasket around the place and the military expert arrived to the scene and worked on dismantling them."
Also Thursday, troops raided several areas in the Tripoli neighborhood of Abi Samra, said the army.
It seized rifles, machineguns, rockets, hand grenades, ammunition, explosives and military gear from a depot in the area, the communique added.
It later explained in another statement that it monitored on Thursday night suspicious activity linked to this area, which prompted it to carry out the raid and discover the depot.
Investigations revealed that the weapons belong to Bilal Diqmaq.
Sheikh Bilal Diqmaq is head of the Iqraa organization for social development.
Also on Friday the army discovered five explosives near the Rawshani mosque that were probably left over from the recent Tripoli festivities.
The army has been carrying out large-scale raids since weekend battles with faceless myrmidons in Tripoli and the region of Koura in search for suspects. Scores of forces of Evil have been arrested.
[Ynet] Bombing runs by the Syrian air force over the past 10 days have killed at least 221 civilians, a third of them children, a group monitoring Syria's civil war said on Thursday.
Since October 20 the Syrian military has staged at least 769 attacks including barrel bombings in many areas of Syria, according to the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, and more than 500 people have been maimed.
It said the strikes targeted the eastern province of Deir al-Zor, Homs in central Syria as well as contested provinces in the more populated west such as Latakia, Quneitra, Hama, Aleppo, Idlib and Deraa, as well as the fringes of Damascus.
So that would be where Assad and his Russian advisors plan to reconquer from the bad guys next, or at least keep them in play..

[ARABNEWS] US-led Arclight airstrikes hit Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... positions around the Syrian border town of Kobani on Friday in an apparent bid to pave the way for heavily-armed Kurdish peshmerga forces to enter from neighboring Turkey.
The predominantly Kurdish town, besieged for more than 40 days, has become the focus of a global war against the bully boys, who have captured expanses of Iraq and Syria and declared an Islamic "caliphate" straddling the two.

This week, Islamic State (IS) group social-media accounts posted an image of a young boy of perhaps 12 or 13 years old. Abu Usama is not playing at being an Islamic State rebel. He is one of the militant group's child fighters. IS social media praised him as the youngest fighter to guard the front lines in Kobani.
Over the past weeks, many more reports have emerged with evidence that IS militants are providing military training to schoolchildren. Other reports claim that they are also using children as young as 13 as fighters.
In Mosul, IS has replaced physical-education classes at local schools with martial-arts classes. A teacher there said that IS militants explained that "they need Mosul's students to be the future soldiers of the caliphate."
Also this week, an activist group in Raqqa, the Syrian town that has become Islamic State's de facto capital, posted evidence that the Islamic State is running a training camp for children under 16.

With apologies to Coolio and Weird Al:
As I walk through the valley of Baghdadi's reign
I take a new wife as she screams in vain
But that's just perfect for jihadis like me
You know I shun fancy things like democracy
At 4:30 in the morning I'm milking he-goats
Mahmoud's on the rug singing hadith quotes
And I'mve been raidin' and so long that
Even tarik thinks that I've got my virgins made
I'm a man of the Mo, peace be upon him
Got a koran in my hand and a headchopper's grin
But if I finish my kufirs and you finish thin
Then tonight we're gonna party like it's 899
We been spending most our lives
Making my islamic paradise
I've cut off people's heads
Making my islamic paradise
Captives I get to sacrifice
Making my islamic paradise
We sell girls at discount price
