RUMORS CIRCULATE AMONG PRO-RESISTANCE GROUPS OF US ASSISTANCE TO THE TALIBAN IN BADAKHSHAN (DRONES/INTEL) – A select few pro-Resistance social media sites have begun sharing opinions that the US is somehow aiding the Taliban in the fight against the NRF with drones and intelligence. We have received confirmation from multiple sources in the USG that these claims are nonsense. Sources in a neighboring country who are monitoring the situation scoffed at the idea and suggested the stories are being planted by pro-Taliban or pro-ISIS-K supporters. One video that had been circulated on a pro-Resistance social media site that purportedly depicted US drones launching Hellfire missiles at an NRF base in Badakhshan actually had a date/time stamp of March 2009 on it. Our analysis indicates these claims are merely rumors and may have been started with malicious intent.
BADAKHSHAN FIGHTING BEGINS AGAIN – Shortly after the Taliban’s victory lap announcement about victory in Badakhshan was made, the NRF reportedly launched multiple assaults in three Districts of the Province. While reports are slow to filter out of the areas affected, fighting has been noted in Shif, Raghistan, and the Kafir Dareh regions with additional clashes in several unidentified locations. It appears the Taliban’s announcements may have been presumptive. Some sources opined the Taliban were quick to claim victory to calm China’s nerves.
FORMER AFGHAN COMMANDOS RECEIVING RECRUITMENT REQUESTS TO FIGHT FOR RUSSIA IN UKRAINE – While we had previously reported on this rumor, it now appears to be confirmed and is running in several regional news sites in Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. It is not clear how many former Commandos have opted to take the offer and no reporting out of Ukraine has confirmed the participation of any Commandos on the Russian lines as of yet. However, with the tectonic pace of resettlement efforts and dire economic conditions facing Afghan refugee communities, it is believed that some may be forced to join up simply to feed their families.
CONFLICT TRACKER Badakhshan: Resistance forces reportedly launched several attacks in Shif, Raghistan, and Kafir Dareh areas of the province. Fighting has reputedly been fierce, a source saying the attacks were prompted by the Taliban’s preemptive declaration of victory un the province, Numerous casualties are said to have been taken on both sides, but an accurate count is not yet available.
NEXT 24 HOURS
TAKHAR, PANJSHIR, BAGHLAN, AND BADAKHSHAN LIKELY TO SEE FRESH FIGHTING – The Resistance Coalition is said to have planned multiple attacks and raids across the four Provinces for the next two weeks. The pressure taken off Panjshir over the last 3 weeks is said to have allowed for significant time to resupply and rearm the forces in the main bases there and some tactical prepositioning is thought to have been completed as of yesterday. We expect to see several light engagements at the outset which will develop into more moderate and heavy fighting scenarios in each of the different Provinces as the weekend approaches. Travel will be hazardous.
BADAKHSHAN FIGHTING REPORTEDLY CONCLUDES – The Taliban took a victory lap of their operation in Badakhshan by claiming the fighting had concluded and that 38 NRF fighters had been killed and 78 had been arrested. The Taliban claimed that only 3 of their fighters had been killed and 5 wounded. Few analysts believe the numbers are accurate and both sides in the conflict continue to inflate the body counts while minimizing losses. The NRF has yet to respond to the Taliban assertions but there have been no reports of fighting in the Province over the last twenty-four hours.
MORE RUMORS OF IRAN RECRUITING FORMER ANA FOR SERVICE IN UKRAINE – Unconfirmed reports continue to come out of Iran claiming the Iranian Republic is registering former Afghan military personnel and offering them a chance to serve in Ukraine. Putin has repeatedly claimed that former Afghan Special Forces soldiers are fighting against his troops so, the rumors could potentially be credible. However, until confirmation is received it is far more likely the rumors are being used to inspire anti-regime sentiment in Iran. Iran, for its part, has rekindled claims that the US is conducting a proxy war campaign in Afghanistan aimed at minimizing Chinese, Russian, and Iranian influence.
SUPREME LEADER REORDERS TALIBAN TO TURN IN CONFISCATED/PERSONAL WEAPONS – In a bid to reduce arms sales across the country, the Supreme Leader reissued an order signed 30 days prior for Taliban members and gun dealers to turn weapons over to the Treasury (Baitu Mal) immediately. It is believed that neighboring states have called on the Taliban repeatedly to enforce smuggling bans.
MORE CLASHES BETWEEN KUCHIS AND HAZARAS IN NANGARHAR – Forced evictions of Hazara families were enforced by local Taliban security forces in the Bihsud District were reported. Approximately 20 families were forced from their homes and the property was given to Kuchi families. Many analysts agree the practice will result in decades of violence, as it has in other parts of the world.
CONFLICT TRACKER Baghlan: A NRF platoon surprised a Taliban outpost, reportedly killing 4 and maiming 2 in an attack near Farghanbal in Khost district. Takhar: A late attack by NRF forces on a Taliban concentration of security forces was said to have resulted in 10 Taliban killed, including an unnamed commander, and 8 maimed. The NRF admitted losing 1 fighter and two maimed.
NEXT 24 HOURS PAKISTAN HAS ELEVATED THE SECURITY LEVEL IN ISLAMABAD – Several hundred Pakistani Special Forces troops have reportedly been recalled to the capitol over the last twenty-four hours. Accounts differ as to the purpose of their mission. Initial sources claim they will be establishing checkpoints along thoroughfares frequented by Afghan nationals in the city to check documents. A secondary source claims that intelligence gleaned from captured cell phones during fighting along the border earlier in the week indicates several pro-TTP cells may be operating within the capitol. The source specifically cited several WhatsApp groups that were discovered, two of which mentioned a potential bomb attack. Both sources indicated the current government was attempting to implicate ousted PM Khan in the situation out of political expediency. The tactic could draw his supporters in and escalate a volatile situation. We have yet to receive reports of similar security postures being adopted in other Pakistan cities hosting large numbers of Afghan refugees. RECOMMENDATION: At-risk Afghans are encouraged to avoid going out until the situation becomes clearer and the threat has passed.

Wouldn't that be just like Joe Biden? Or maybe it's the CIA doing it without Joe even knowing? Just can't keep from poking their noses where they don't belong.

As they attempt to put down the NRF armed resistance in the country’s north, the Taliban government in Afghanistan is being accused of extrajudicial killings and other human rights violations.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited. [KavkazUzel] The Fifth Court of Cassation in Pyatigorsk upheld the verdict on brothers Ismail Isaev and Salekh Magamadov, convicted in Chechnya for aiding a militant.
As the "Caucasian Knot" has reported, since October 12, 2021, the Achkhoi-Martan court has been considering the criminal case of the brothers Salekh Magamadov and Ismail Isaev. The lawyers sought to transfer the case to another region, but the court refused them, with the same demand, the brothers went on a hunger strike in December 2021.
On February 22, a court in Chechnya sentenced Salekh Magamadov to eight years in prison and Ismail Isaev to six years. On May 11, the Supreme Court of Chechnya refused to commute the sentence of Salekh Magamadov and his brother Ismail Isaev, convicted on charges of helping a militant; the defense appealed the verdict to the cassation instance.
The brothers Magamadov and Isaev were accused of aiding a militant from Aslan Byutukaev's group.
...more formally known as Aslan Avgazarovich Byutukayev and to his fans as Emir Khamzat. The group presumably is Islamic State (IS) Wilayah al-Qawqaz (Caucasus Province), to which he pledged allegiance in 2015, previously being a Number Three in Dokka Umarov‘s Caucasus Emirate, having worked his way up to commanding a band of 30-50 suicide bombers called Riyad-us Saliheen Brigade of Martyrs. In January, 2021 the Chechen police killed him for the last time.
According to investigators, they gave him bread, juice, tea and chocolate. In early February 2021, 20-year-old Magamadov and his brother, at that time a minor, were taken from Nizhny Novgorod to Chechnya by the security forces.
The court, in the absence of lawyers and parents of the young men, decided to take them into custody. In March 2021, the brothers complained to the Investigative Committee about beatings and torture after being detained in both 2020 and 2021. At a meeting with lawyers, they reported that they were forced to sign fabricated confessions.
The 5th Court of Cassation of Pyatigorsk today considered a complaint against the verdict of Salekh Magamadov and Ismail Isaev, they were present via video link. The defense, represented by lawyers Mark Alekseev and Alexander Nemov, insisted on the annulment of the verdict and a review of the case outside of Chechnya, the Crisis Group CK SOS reported today.
Lawyers pointed to the inconsistency of the accusation and numerous violations during the investigation and in the trials: the Chechen court refused to transfer the case to another region, the right to defense of Salekh and Ismail was violated, and the testimony of police officers was used in the case as evidence of guilt, the report says. Telegram channel of the group.
The judge decided to remove the testimony of the police from the case file, but left the punishment unchanged, the human rights project OVD-Info* reported today.
Recall that since July 15, defenders have been denied a meeting with Salekh Magamadov at the Vladimirsky Central, claiming that he is not in prison. At the same time, the letter was delivered to Magamadov, and on August 4, his lawyers called on netizens to call the FSIN hotline and ask why lawyers were not allowed to see their client.
Employees of the "Vladimirsky Central" on August 11 let the defender to Magamadov, but the conversation was controlled by a prison officer, lawyer Alexander Nemov said. According to him, Magamadov confirmed that he had been at the stage for two months. On July 7, the Crisis Group CK SOS informed that Isaev was transferred to a colony in the Kuban, on July 21 it became known that he was placed in a punishment cell for 15 days.
The brothers' accusations of helping the militant are ridiculous, since the Chechen security forces suspected a gay and transgender person who mocks religion of complicity with a supporter of a radical movement in Islam, Elena Milashina, a columnist for Novaya Gazeta, said earlier.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] Former German soldiers were convicted Monday of trying to form a mercenary group to intervene in Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... ’s civil war. They were found guilty of attempting to form a terrorist organization.
The Stuttgart state court said the two men, aged 61 and 53, were given suspended sentences of 18 months and 14 months. It didn’t release their names.
The two men decided in April 2021 to set up a paramilitary unit of 100 to 150 people, predominantly current and former German soldiers, the court found.
The court said the defendants were influenced by "ideas colored by Christian fundamentalism" and by the predictions of a Ottoman Turkish fortune-teller,
...the Germans can be very mystical when they choose...
as well as by a desire to make money. The court said one defendent tried to contact Saudi officials to obtain financial and military help, while the other tried to recruit former and current soldiers.
...both sensible moves, given their objectives...
Although they succeeded neither in attracting a big investor nor in getting anyone to join their unit,
...oh dear...
they stuck to their plans until they were arrested a year ago, the court said. Their trial opened in June and, in August, they were released on bail after 10 months in jug.
The defendants confessed at the trial and had no previous convictions, the court said. It added that no one is appealing the verdict.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] At least five Paleostinians were killed and more than 20 others injured,
...lots of splinters and stubbed toes...
including at least 4 seriously, during the Israeli occupation army’s massive assault on the northern West Bank city of Nablus early this morning, Paleostine Ministry of Health said on Tuesday.
According to the Paleostinian Ministry of Health, the deaders were identified as Wadee El-Houh (31), Hamdi Sharaf (35), Ali Antar (26), Hamdi Qayyem (30) and Meshal Zahi Baghdadi (27).
“Who’s your baghdaddy?”
In Ramallah ,Qusai Tamimi,

[IsraelTimes] Top terror group commander Wadee al-Houh ’main target’ of overnight operation in West Bank; 6th fatality reported near Ramallah; PIJ vows Dire Revenge, Abbas aide pans ’war crime’
Israeli soldiers killed the leader of a Nablus-based terror group and destroyed an explosives workshop in the West Bank city, the military said early Tuesday, in an extensive raid that sparked intense festivities, leaving another four button men dead, and over 20 injured, according to Paleostinian health officials.
The Israel Defense Forces said 31-year-old Wadee al-Houh led the Lion’s Den terror group in Nablus and was responsible for numerous attacks. The group mourned him as a "leader" in a later statement.
Blasts and gunshots rang out for over an hour in Nablus after a large convoy of IDF vehicles entered the West Bank city before 1 a.m. Tuesday. Nablus has been the focus of weeks of operations targeting the Lion’s Den terror group, responsible for a string of attacks on military positions, settlements and other targets.
"A joint force of IDF soldiers, Shin Bet security service agents and anti-terror forces raided a hideaway in Nablus’s old city that was being used as a bomb workshop by central members of Lion’s Den," the IDF said in a statement released following the raid.
The IDF said troops had used shoulder-launched missiles against the building. "The bomb workshop was blown up by our forces," the military said.
The army said soldiers opened fire on a number of button men, citing Paleostinian reports of casualties. It said soldiers also returned fire when shot at during rioting in the city. "During the operation, dozens of Paleostinians burned tires and threw stones at troops," the army said.
The IDF said no soldiers were hurt in the overnight operation.
The Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry reported that five Paleostinians were killed in Nablus and over 20 were maimed, several of them seriously. It also reported that a sixth person was killed in festivities with troops in Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah. The IDF said that man was shot by soldiers after hurling an bomb at them.
The ministry named the fatalities in Nablus as Hamdi Ramzy, 30, Ali Antar, 26, Hamdi Sharaf, 35, Wadee al-Houh, 31, and Mishaal Baghdadi, 27. al-Houh was a senior and founding member of Lion’s Den, according to Israeli officials and Paleostinian media reports. al-Houh was also responsible for manufacturing bombs and procuring weapons for members of the group, the IDF charged. The IDF said al-Houh was a "main target of the operation."
Separately, the military said Paleostinian button menshot up the Salem crossing in the northern West Bank early Tuesday. The checkpoint and adjacent base has been the target of numerous shooting attacks in recent weeks, leading Gantz to order it shut. The IDF said troops returned fire at the button men, and later arrested one of them at their home in the town of Rummanah.
Two other wanted Paleostinians were detained in overnight raids in other areas of the West Bank.
After the Nablus operation early Tuesday, the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... said in a statement that its "fighters were involved in violent mostly peacefulfestivities" with Israeli forces in Nablus and threatened Israel with reprisals "against these crimes" there.
Paleostinian reports claimed that members of the PA’s security force were caught off guard by the raid and also shot up the Israeli troops, who shot back, resulting in injuries. The military, however, said it was unaware of any festivities with PA forces overnight.
The raid was the latest in the city to target Lion’s Den, a recently formed group made up of members of other terror organizations that has claimed a slew of attacks in the weeks since Israel killed senior al-Aqsa Martyr’s Brigade member Ibrahim al-Nabulsi in late August.
One Israeli soldier — Staff Sgt. Ido Baruch, 21, — was killed in an attack by the group and a second person was lightly injured in a separate assault on civilian vehicles. The other attacks have been ineffectual, but videos of the shootings uploaded to social media have helped it win it massive popularity on the Paleostinian street in a short period of time.
On Saturday night, a Lion’s Den fighter, Tamer al-Kilani, was killed in the Old City of Nablus by an "explosion" attributed by the group and the Israeli press to a bomb remotely activated by the Israeli army. The military has not commented publicly on the claims. A defense official said Kilani, previously tossed in the calaboose I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece! in Israel, was directly involved in sending a Paleostinian man to attempt to commit a "large-scale" attack in Tel Aviv last month, among several more shooting attacks in the Nablus area.
The Tuesday statement blamed Lion’s Den for the foiled attack in Tel Aviv, which was thwarted when the would-be assailant was searched by police in Jaffa, who found guns and improvised explosives in his bag. It also said the group was responsible for planting a bomb at a gas station in the settlement of Kedumim, attempting to carry out an explosives attack on the settlement of Har Bracha, and throwing a fragmentation grenade at troops stationed in Nablus.
Tensions in the Nablus area have ratcheted up in recent weeks, with Israel’s military placing a cordon around the Paleostinian city to crack down on Lion’s Den.
The pressure has been exacerbated by increasingly frequent assaults by settlers in the area angry over the army’s inability to rein in the groups, who has taken out frustrations on Paleostinians in Huwara and other towns abutting settlements.
[BenarNews] An explosion killed a suspected bad boy in the southern Philippines when an improvised bomb he was planting at a power transmission tower blew up prematurely, the military said Tuesday.
The blast occurred at a tower of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) near the town of Kauswagan in Lanao de Norte province on Monday afternoon, said Brig. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, commander of Army forces in the area.
"The initial assessment of the EOD [explosive ordnance disposal] teams was that a 60mm mortar was used as the primary explosive to topple the tower," Nafarrete said, adding that there were two explosives, and that the suspect apparently "prematurely triggered" the bomb.
Security personnel dispatched to check on the cause of the blast discovered the suspect’s remains, Nafarrete said.
Beth Ladaga, a spokeswoman for the NGCP, said the earth-shattering kaboom "toppled the steel tower and caused power interruptions in parts of Mindanao." She was referring to the main southern third of the Philippines, which has long been afflicted by various insurgencies, including by Moslem bad boy groups.
Power interruptions affected the entire Zamboanga peninsula, including Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Zamboanga City, and the entire Misamis Occidental province, and parts of Lanao del Norte.
The suspect’s affiliation was still being investigated, but when news hounds asked the military if the Daulah Islamiyah (DI) group, which is known to operate in the area, might be involved, officials said, it was "possible." DI is the Filipino name of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... bad boy group.
Joint police and military anti-terror teams are investigating the attack, which occurred shortly after the fifth anniversary of the end of the bad boy siege of Marawi city.
In 2017, Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern members of the Islamic State laid siege to the lakeshore city in hopes of making it into their caliphate in the region. Five months of battles destroyed the city, but also pushed back the bad boys. Some 1,200 bad boys, soldiers and non-combatants were killed in the violence.
"Rest assured that we will heighten our security operations and stay on guard against the malefactors that hamper the stability in our area of operation," said Brig. Gen. Arturo Rojas, the acting chief of the military's Western Mindanao Command based in Zamboanga city.

[Rudaw] Iranian students heckled a top official and hollered poorly rhymed slogans against the government Tuesday, videos showed, a day after security forces were accused of beating schoolgirls amid a crackdown on protests over Mahsa Amini's death.
Security forces were seen firing tear gas after massing outside the Shahid Sadr girls vocational school in Tehran on Monday, in the footage shared by activist muppets on social media.
Young women and schoolgirls have been at the forefront of protests sparked by Amini's death last month, after her arrest for an alleged breach of the Islamic republic's strict dress code for women.
"Students of the Sadr high school in Tehran have been attacked, strip searched, and beaten up," said the 1500tasvir social media channel.
At least one student, 16 year-old Sana Soleimani, had been hospitalised, said 1500tasvir, which chronicles rights violations by the Iranian security forces.
"Parents later protested in front of the school. Security forces attacked the neighbourhood and shot at people's houses," it added.
Iran's education ministry said a dispute occurred between schoolgirls and their parents and school staff, after the principal demanded they comply with rules over the use of mobile phones.
"The death of a student in this confrontation is strongly denied No, no! Certainly not! ," a ministry front man said, quoted by Iran's ISNA news agency.
Families could be seen clamouring for information outside the school in the Tehran neighbourhood of Salsabil, in an online video verified by AFP.
Later on at night protesters erupted into the streets in the same district, screaming and hollering and burning dumpster bins, in other footage that AFP was unable to immediately verify.
Despite a crackdown by the security forces that rights groups say has killed at least 122 protesters, young women and men were again seen protesting in online videos on Tuesday.
"Death to the dictator" and "Death to the Revolutionary Guards", women chanted as they rode escalators in Tehran metro stations, in videos widely shared on Twitter.
Students heckled presidential front man Ali Bahadori Jahromi as he spoke at Tehran's Khaje Nasir University, in a video published by the reformist paper Hammihan.
"Spokesman, get lost!" and "We don't want a corrupt system, we don't want a murderer", they shouted.
Teachers observed a strike around the country on Sunday and Monday over the crackdown, and another strike was said to be underway in Amini's home province of Kurdistan on Tuesday.
Rights group Amnesia Amnesty International says has cost the lives of at least 23 children, while Oslo-based group Iran ...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979... Human Rights said Thursday that at least 27 children have been killed.
Children and teachers are among the thousands arrested in the crackdown, IHR added.
