[BBC.CO.UK] The discovery of a girl found living on a Roma settlement in Greece has given the family of a missing Sheffield boy "great hope", his sister has said. Ooh! Ooh! I seen dis operetta!
Ben Needham, from Sheffield, was 21 months old when he went missing while on a family holiday in Kos in 1991.
Ben's sister, Leighanna, said the girl's discovery, in a camp near Farsala, central Greece, was "very significant to Ben's case".
"It gives us great hope that one day this will be Ben," she said.
DNA tests revealed the child, called Maria and aged about four, was not related to the couple she lived with.
'Too, too long'
Officials believe she may have been a victim of abduction or child trafficking.
Police in Greece found the blonde girl living at a Roma camp
Ms Needham said this case was very similar to her family's and the Greek police's original thoughts about what had happened to Ben.
"Child trafficking and illegal adoption in Greece has been pretty high and that's exactly what they thought had happened to Ben - that he was taken for a childless family and passed through Gypsy camps."
A spokesman for Kate and Gerry McCann, whose daughter Madeleine went missing in Portugal in 2007, said the case also gave them hope that she would one day be found alive.

[MYFOXNY] Prosecutors say a man was apparently beaten to death during a large brawl that broke out during a party at a central New Jersey bowling alley.
But it's still not clear what started the brawl, which began around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Piscataway and involved roughly 250 people. Authorities say the combatants were fighting inside the alley and in the parking lot, but most of them fled when police arrived.
Acting Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey says 23-year-old Jamount Atkins man was injured during the brawl and taken to a hospital, where he died shortly after. Autopsy reports haven't been disclosed, but Carey says it appeared Atkins was the victim of a beating.
No arrests have been made in connection with the brawl or Atkins' death.

I believe this is the last gasp of the 'can we sell anything with sex and shock value' means of selling music. It was hard to tell with Madonna and Gaga because some folks really seemed to like their music despite the headline antics.
I haven't heard any Miley music. She's doing this crazy stuff for attention but I'm not sure its translating into album sales. We will see.
I just hope she recovers from the stroke that makes her tongue hang out all the time because it's truly unattractive (oh and a decent haircut might also help the appearance Miley). There is more than just exposed skin to sexy.

my point is her music now. Big album out, she's literally pimping and shocking and doing everything to sell it and I haven't heard a single song that I'm aware of.

While many Twitter followers praised his volunteering spirit, others questioned the wisdom of the nation's leader putting himself in the line of fire. Perfora recti

Doubt if it had anything to do with insurance, but rather part of the standing FLOTUS and ValJar dust up the O had a while back. Some chicken Milano served a la Don Vito Corleone, would be newsworthy.

Interesting article by CNN - note the only American in the hoosegow has a father who's a longtime civil rights activist. Shocker! I think you mean a longtime democratic voter entitlement activist
Bristol, Rhode Island (CNN) -- The Willcox family has long been accustomed to prolonged absences from their seafaring patriarch.
In fact, run-ins with the law were not unusual, given the fact that Peter Willcox had spent decades working for the environmental activist group Greenpeace, which is well-known for its provocative, headline-grabbing protests.
But no one expected the 60-year-old mariner to end up languishing in a Russian jail in the Arctic, facing up to 15 years in prison on charges of piracy. I'm digging this story...

It will only complicate matters if the Russians discover that the Greenpeace movement has been overtaken by a gaye 'extreme reality' vacation tour agency.

[Pak Daily Times] A self-proclaimed Philippine sultan whose followers launched a bloody incursion into the Malaysian state of Sabah earlier this year died of organ failure in a Manila hospital on Sunday, his wife said.
Jamalul Kiram III, 75 -- who described himself as the "Sultan of Sulu" after a group of islands in the southern Philippines -- died at a government hospital but remained defiant to the end, his wife, Fatima Kiram said.
"The sultan died a poor but honourable man," she told AFP, adding that his fight to reclaim Sabah as part of the sultanate's territory would continue.
"His last words to all his brothers and followers were, 'It has already begun. Let us continue it for the good of our people. Do not abandon our people,'" she quoted him as saying.
She said, however, this did not mean renewed violence, adding that the family was willing to enter into negotiations with Malaysia.
Her husband had been undergoing twice-weekly dialysis sessions for kidney disease before his death.
Reacting to the death, President Benigno Aquino's spokeswoman Abigail Valte said, "we offer our condolences to the bereaved family and to his loved ones".
In February, at least 100 armed followers of Kiram, who claimed to be the hereditary chief of the "Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo," entered Sabah to press his claim on the Malaysian state.
After the group refused to lay down their arms Malaysian security forces moved against them, resulting in deadly festivities that left dozens dead and sent the invaders fleeing.
The Sultan of Sulu once ruled over islands that are now parts of the southern Philippines, as well as Sabah.
However the sultanate lost control of Sabah to European colonial powers in the 18th Century. The former British colony became part of the federation of Malaysia when it was formed in 1963.
Kiram and his family, as heirs to the sultanate, still receive annual compensation from Malaysia -- the equivalent of about $1,700 -- but he had previously said this amount was far too low.
Aside from Kiram, there are other descendants of the sultanate who also claim to be the true sultans of Sulu.
Fatima Kiram said her husband's younger brother, Bantillan, would take over as sultan, stressing he had "the legal authority".

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iranians taking their dogs for "walkies" on the streets of the Islamic Theocratic Republic has been increasingly seen as a way to defy the government, Britannia's the Guardian reported this week.
Owning dogs has become an growingr trend in Iran's urban upper class over the past 15 years, despite the practice technically being prohibited by Islamic law.
Ordinances created three years ago have allowed authorities to seize dogs being walked outside in addition to imposing heavy fines from $100 to $500 for the "seditionist" or "un-Islamic" act.
