What follows is a tale full of unexpected surprises, as former Defense Secretary Rumsfeld might have said.
(Ma'an) -- Egyptian authorities locked away a Paleostinian citizen of Israel
One...
at the Egypt border Thursday, saying they discovered a weapon and large quantity of ammunition in his possession.
The Paleostinian-Israeli, who was not otherwise identified, told Egyptian security forces he worked for an Israeli tourism company
Two...
and was traveling with his wife
Three...
to the northern Sinai city of Taba, officials said.
Forces discovered an American-made weapon
Four...
when searching the man's car as he entered Egypt via the Taba border crossing near the southern town of Eilat, Egyptian security officials told Ma'an.
The suspect was jugged when he failed to provide an adequate explanation for the weapon and ammunition,
It's not like he could claim he was working for the PA police, armed and trained by the Americans, so what is this all about?
and has been transferred for investigation to facilities in southern Sinai, they said.
Egypt is also considering swapping a US-Israeli joint national, suspected of spying for Israel, for 81 Egyptians jugged in Israel, the state-owned daily Al-Ahram said Sunday..
That President Obama did not immediately cut off all aid and joint military anythings, with the possibility of discussion about resuming some on a trial basis after the man was returned to us in good condition says all that needs to be said, I think.
Tension had been building for days in the Occupy Oakland camp before it erupted into violence Monday and Tuesday. When it finally did, Don Hughes, a substitute teacher and full-time tent resident of the camp, found himself amid a full-blown melee.
The tent city that has sprung up on the steps of Oakland City Hall has attracted a diverse range of people, many with competing ideologies and world views. Homeless people, ex-convicts, at least one registered sex offender, students, unemployed hotel workers, anarchists and reform-minded activists freely mingle together in what amounts to a democracy free-for-all.
Sometimes, everyone appears to be on the same page. But the skein of civility has been frequently shattered as bullies, the mentally ill, drunks, thugs and anarchists have threatened the safety and well-being of the camp's more peaceful residents.
One Oakland police officer, who asked to remain anonymous for reasons of police protocol, described the scene in tent city as akin to a scene from "Lord of the Flies." And, indeed, the on-the-fly rule-making can often veer into an oppressive, anarchic mood.
Journalists are routinely shooed away and told off by angry residents. One Oakland police supervisor said that the participants first appeared to him as "freethinking activists" but have since devolved into something more sinister. He said it was "interesting for a group that claims to be against current civilization and rules to set up a far more oppressive society than our own." It continues with an amusing tale of a brutish beast on rampage.

But, but, but everybody knows that coercing children to behave in outdated ways pronounced "acceptable behavior" by DWEMs, injures their development.
Warning, the link goes to one of those places. Jobs' Meeting With Obama
Jobs, who was known for his prickly, stubborn personality, almost missed meeting President Obama in the fall of 2010 because he insisted that the president personally ask him for a meeting. Though his wife told him that Obama "was really psyched to meet with you," Jobs insisted on the personal invitation, and the standoff lasted for five days. When he finally relented and they met at the Westin San Francisco Airport, Jobs was characteristically blunt. He seemed to have transformed from a liberal into a conservative.
"You're headed for a one-term presidency," he told Obama at the start of their meeting, insisting that the administration needed to be more business-friendly. As an example, Jobs described the ease with which companies can build factories in China compared to the United States, where "regulations and unnecessary costs" make it difficult for them. You mean it's not really those mean nasty workers who insist on being paid more than sustenance wages? Not that we'll be able to afford more once we're done decapitalizing the industries for other reasons...
Jobs also criticized America's education system, saying it was "crippled by union work rules," noted Isaacson. "Until the teachers' unions were broken, there was almost no hope for education reform." Jobs proposed allowing principals to hire and fire teachers based on merit, that schools stay open until 6 p.m. and that they be open 11 months a year. It occurs to me that if we had the 11 month school year, or manufacturing in China, when Jobs was in high school, he'd have never gotten that first summer job working at Hewlett Packard. It probably wasn't that great, but you know, your first job never is, and you're better off getting that particular experience out of the way at fifteen than you are at twenty-five. Aiding Obama's Reelection Campaign
Jobs suggested that Obama meet six or seven other CEOs who could express the needs of innovative businesses -- but when White House aides added more names to the list, Jobs insisted that it was growing too big and that "he had no intention of coming." In preparation for the dinner, Jobs exhibited his notorious attention to detail, telling venture capitalist John Doerr that the menu of shrimp, cod and lentil salad was "far too fancy" and objecting to a chocolate truffle dessert. But he was overruled by the White House, which cited the president's fondness for cream pie.
Though Jobs was not that impressed by Obama, later telling Isaacson that his focus on the reasons that things can't get done "infuriates" him, they kept in touch and talked by phone a few more times. Jobs even offered to help create Obama's political ads for the 2012 campaign. "He had made the same offer in 2008, but he'd become annoyed when Obama's strategist David Axelrod wasn't totally deferential," writes Isaacson. Jobs later told the author that he wanted to do for Obama what the legendary "morning in America" ads did for Ronald Reagan. Which means that he was going to be doubling-down on all the things he said he didn't like. I guess that's life, though.

Gotta wonder what kind of crazy damage a biographer could do to someones reputation when they worked so closely with the person then the person died and can no longer claim "I didn't say that!"
Not suggesting thats what happened but the potential would certainly be there. I hope the biographer has lots of audiotape to backup every political claim. Just saying.
[Dawn] Poisonous liquor claimed another six lives on Wednesday, taking the corpse count to 12 during the last 48 hours.
Police and hospital sources said six more bodies were brought to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Four of them -- Malik Nazir, 25, son of Allah Ditta, Abdul Qadir, 35, son of Latif, Muhammad Saeed, 35, son of Elahi Bakhsh, and Muhammad Umar, 35 -- were residents of Chanesar Goth. The other two -- Samson, son of Sunil, and Peter, son of Sunil -- lived in the KMC compound within the remit of the Frere cop shoppe.
Police, quoting hospital sources, said 13 people who had also consumed Kickapoo Joy Juice had been admitted to the JPMC in a serious condition.
They said two teams conducted several raids to arrest the suppliers of the poisonous liquor.
On Tuesday, six people died and another one lost his eyesight after consuming Kickapoo Joy Juice in Baakri Mohallah near Hindu Para in Chanesar Goth, which falls within the remit of the Tipu Sultan police.
The additional SHO of the Tipu Sultan cop shoppe confirmed the six more deaths.
In a late night raid on a distillery in the Chanesar Goth area, police placed in durance vile three suspects and seized equipment.
In most of the deaths, relatives have not allowed legal formalities to be carried out by the police and took away the bodies.
Police said a case (FIR 213/11) was registered at the Tipu Sultan cop shoppe on a complaint of Sub-Inspector Amin against Bashir alias Nana, Mohammad Baloch, Irfan alias Jabal, Badshah and others for their alleged involvement in the manufacture and sale of the Kickapoo Joy Juice.
Earlier on Tuesday, the SHO of the Tipu Sultan cop shoppe was suspended following the deaths.
In September 2007 in a similar incident more than 30 people had died in different parts of the city after consuming Kickapoo Joy Juice.
With a considerable number of persons still suffering from the symptoms of consuming the tainted liquor, there are fears that the corpse count might rise, hospital sources said.

This is a fun read!
It began, as it so often does, with a drum circle. The ten-hour groove marathons weren't sitting well with the neighborhood's community board, the ironically situated High School of Economics and Finance that sits on the corner of Zuccotti Park, or many of the sleep-deprived protesters.
"[The high school] couldn't teach," explained Josh Nelson, a 27-year-old occupier from Nebraska. "And we've had issues with the drummers too. They drum incessantly all day, and really loud." Facilitators spearheaded a General Assembly proposal to limit the drumming to two hours a day. "The drumming is a major issue which has the potential to get us kicked out," said Lauren Digion, a leader on the sanitation working group.
The drummers claim that the finance working group even levied a percussion tax of sorts, taking up to half of the $150-300 a day that the drum circle was receiving in tips. "Now they have over $500,000 from all sorts of places," said Engelerdt. "We're like, what's going on here? They're like the banks we're protesting." Nothing that a garden hose and one of those $50 high-pressure sprayers at the Home Depot couldn't fix; though I'd spend an extra $20 for a new baseball bat for my brother Daryl while he stands next to me...

Hertz is firing 25 Somali Muslim drivers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport who have refused to agree to clock out for daily breaks during which they normally pray.
The workers drive the company's rental cars to and from the airport for cleaning and refueling. They are among 34 Hertz employees suspended Sept. 30 for failing to clock out before breaks.
The Seattle Times reports that Hertz says nine of the 34 signed the agreement and have returned to their jobs. insufficiently Islamic. They'll be killed
Hertz spokesman Rich Broome says the company made it clear the workers needed to agree to the clock-out conditions by the end of the day Thursday if they wanted to be reinstated. The newspaper says termination letters have been sent to the 25.
The company has said some workers were taking longer than the 10 minutes allowed. which is a firing offense already
