[Regnum] Russia has no illusions that relevant international structures will condemn the rampant censorship in the United States, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on September 15, whose words are quoted on the agency’s website.
“We have no illusions that the rampant censorship in the United States will receive a proper assessment from the relevant international structures whose activities are directed by Washington,” she said.
According to her, Moscow qualifies their silence as approval of such practices and actual complicity in the tyranny committed against Russian media.
Zakharova noted that the current American administration is trying to justify the unprecedented repressions against Russian media by the fight against their "interference" in domestic political affairs. In essence, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized, this is yet another commissioned campaign, a "witch hunt."
“A specially cultivated atmosphere of general fear and spy mania allows the ruling circles in the United States to manipulate public opinion and protect the population from any information that is inconvenient for them,” the diplomat added.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 13, the US Treasury Department announced the introduction of sanctions against the media group Rossiya Segodnya and its head Dmitry Kiselyov. The department issued a general license requiring the completion of financial transactions with the media group by November 13.
At the same time, on September 4, the US already imposed sanctions against the media group Rossiya Segodnya, RIA Novosti, Sputnik, as well as the RT TV channel and Margarita Simonyan. Washington explained this decision by the fact that the blacklisted media outlets were allegedly involved in interference in the US presidential elections.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the United States, Britain and Canada had launched a diplomatic campaign to urge allies and partners around the world to join the fight against the threat posed by RT.
Commenting on the introduction of new sanctions against Russian media, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov stated that the American authorities are trying to shift responsibility for their own mistakes made during the electoral struggle onto Moscow.
Moscow will not leave Washington's prohibitive actions against Russian media unanswered. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
“The current American administration is trying to justify the unprecedented repressions against Russian media in an extremely cynical manner by citing the fight against their ‘interference’ in domestic political affairs,” says Zakharova’s official commentary, published on the MFA website.
According to the diplomat, the US has launched a commissioned campaign against Russian media, trying on the role of “guardian” of the integrity of democratic processes.
At the same time, Washington has finally trampled on the international obligations it has undertaken to ensure pluralism of opinions and has declared war on freedom of speech throughout the world, Zakharova pointed out.
“We have no illusions that the rampant censorship in the United States will receive a proper assessment from the relevant international structures whose activities are directed by Washington,” the representative of the Foreign Ministry added.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs qualifies the silence of international organizations as approval of discrimination against Russian media and complicity in it, Zakharova noted.
“The actions of the American administration will not go unanswered,” the commentary concluded.

19:24 Ukraine's victory plan contains four main points and one additional one, Zelensky said in an interview with CNN: "I will personally talk to Joe Biden before the Peace Summit about how to strengthen us, so that we are in a strong position. Because diplomatic solutions are good if you are strong. Otherwise, Putin will not even take part in this. And I think that in other circumstances they will not be interested in stopping the war."
Zelensky said that he had prepared several points: "Four of them are the main ones. Plus one that we need after the war. I will share them with President Biden. It is about security, the geopolitical place of Ukraine, very strong military support for Ukraine. And about the fact that we should freely decide how to use this or that thing. It is about the decision on economic support." Zelensky separately noted that he is ready to accept proposals for the plan from Biden's team, provided that they strengthen Ukraine's position.
In addition, Zelensky said that Ukraine cannot equip even four of the 14 necessary brigades. According to the president, the reason for this is the delay in military aid from partners. "Everything is happening very slowly," he reproached his partners.

01:53 The White House is working on a "substantial" aid package for Ukraine, which it plans to announce by the end of the month, White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said. He also commented on aid delays, noting that this is not a question of political will, but of logistics. According to him, the US is literally taking 155 mm shells off the assembly line and delivering them to the front lines as quickly as they can.
00:14 Scholz said that he would not allow Ukraine to use German weapons for strikes deep into Russia, and this decision would remain in force even if other countries decided to lift their restrictions. He also once again emphasized that Germany would not send long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
00:05 Among Russia's allies, North Korea is the one that creates the most problems for Ukraine, Budanov said: "They supply a huge amount of artillery ammunition, which is critically important for Russia. After such deliveries, there is an escalation of hostilities." According to the head of the GUR, it takes eight to nine days from the moment a ship arrives from the DPRK for the ammunition to reach the front. Then, for two weeks, the Russians use it intensively.
"As the head of intelligence, I can say directly: the fact that they are supplying ballistic missiles is unpleasant for us, but these are not the volumes. But as for ammunition, this is critical for us," Budanov noted. He added that intelligence sees the entire route: the ship's arrival at the port, unloading, movement by rail, etc.

Pokrovsk direction: battles on the approaches to Mirnograd and the liberation of most of Ukrainsk.
- In the Pokrovsk direction, battles are underway on the approaches to Mirnograd, where the enemy has organized a new line of defense to the south of the city. At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces managed to break through the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the vicinity of Ukrainsk and occupy most of the city.
- In Grodovka, Ukrainian formations hold positions on the left bank of the Zhuravka River. The defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this area relies on a network of fortifications to the north of the settlement, located above it relative to the terrain. This allows the enemy to conduct visual observation of the approaches to the village.
– South of Nikolaevka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a counterattack in the direction of Krutoy Yar in order to prevent the Russian Armed Forces from consolidating their positions in the settlement. Russian units retreated to the forest belts south of the settlement, where they regrouped.
– Considering that the enemy positions in Krutoy Yar are practically half-encircled, we should expect a resumption of attacks by Russian troops in this area in the near future.
– The situation in the Novogrodovka area remains stably tense. According to available information, Ukrainian formations are refraining from counterattacks and are preparing for defense on the Lysovka-Vyshneve line.
– Fighting continues in the area of ??the Novogrodovskaya No. 2 mine waste heap; there is currently no information about the status of the facility.
- To the south, units of the Russian Armed Forces are fighting in Selidovo and its environs. The line of combat runs along Gogol and Krinichnaya streets, to the west of which the Ukrainian Armed Forces have organized a line of defense in a block of multi-story buildings.
– To the southwest of Mikhaylovka, fighting continues in the area of ??the previously destroyed railway bridge. Neither side, judging by objective control footage, has been able to establish control over the railway line.
– The success of Russian troops in this area will allow them to secure the southern flank of the Russian Armed Forces group fighting for Selidovo.
– Attack aircraft of the Russian Armed Forces pushed through the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces northwest of Ukrainsk, reaching the rear of the enemy troops defending the city. After that, under the control of the Russian Armed Forces, in the course of a series of attacks, they drove the enemy out of most of the settlement.
– Separate units of Ukrainian formations are still defending the western outskirts of the city and the waste heap of the Ukraine mine.
– Russian troops are methodically “knocking out” key objects of the enemy’s transport infrastructure in Pokrovsk and its environs. On the evening of September 13, the Russian Armed Forces launched a missile strike that destroyed several spans of the “Eastern Overpass” – a key transport artery through which the Mirnograd garrison was supplied.
– Together with the earlier destruction of the “Mirnograd overpass”, this creates a threatening situation for the supply system of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the entire agglomeration.

- Kursk region. Ukrainian troops have consolidated their positions in the area of the settlement Veseloye, Glushkovsky district. 08:45 Telegram channel «Fisherman»:
Kursk direction: beginning of the battle for Lyubimovka and defense of Vesyoloye situation as of 20:00 on September 14, 2024
- In the Kursk direction, Russian troops have reached the outskirts of Lyubimovka and Pokrovskoe during the counteroffensive. At the same time, the enemy is attacking the flank of the Russian Armed Forces in order to slow the pace of advance.
– In the south of the Glushkovsky district, fighting has been going on for more than a day on the southern outskirts of Veseloye, where Ukrainian forces reached after overcoming the barriers on the border several days earlier.
The previously occupied Novy Put is used by the enemy as a transit point, where assault groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces dismount for further entry into battle near Vesyoloye.
- In the Korenevsky district, the advanced assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces have reached the outskirts of Pokrovskoe and Lyubimovka, in the western part of which clashes are taking place. The enemy is transferring reinforcements in order to slow down the advance of Russian troops.
The advancing units of the Russian Armed Forces are supported by artillery and aviation, which regularly "knock out" the Ukrainian Armed Forces' fire support assets. Thus, in the Dar'ino area, the VKS aviation destroyed an enemy self-propelled gun at a firing position in a forested area.
– The liberation of Lyubimovka will create a threat to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ communications running through the 38K-030 highway. In this case, the enemy group in the Korenevo area may face a severe supply shortage.
– The information spreading about the liberation of Darino has not yet been confirmed, although at the current rate of advancement, the Russian Armed Forces should soon be expected to reach the northern outskirts of the village. The Snagost River, which acts as a natural boundary, presents a difficulty.
– In the Sudzhansky district, the Russian Armed Forces carried out an attack on Borki: after air strikes, assault groups entered the village and began to destroy the firing points of the Ukrainian formations.
At the moment, the enemy has been driven out of positions at least in the north-eastern part of the settlement. At this vector of advance of Russian troops, it is possible to assume that neighboring Spalynoye is already under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
08:00 Honored Artist of Russia Yulia Chicherina and soloists of the front-line creative brigade of the song and dance ensemble of the Leningrad Military Districtperformedwith a concert for servicemen of the units of the "North" group of troops in the rear area of the SVO zone.

– The concert lasted more than an hour, and the servicemen asked for many songs to be performed as an encore.
– The servicemen thanked the artists and musicians with a deafening ovation.
– After the concert, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Yulia Chicherina and the soloists of the Leningrad Military District front-line creative brigade had a warm conversation with the servicemen of the North group of troops.
Chechens are fanatics, whether uniformed or not.
[Regnum] The fighters of the Akhmat special forces unit committed a shameful act by voluntarily surrendering to Ukrainian troops, and their right to life after captivity is questionable.
“Their job is to be cannon fodder. How dare they try to survive the experience!”
The unit's commander, deputy head of the main military-political department of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Apti Alaudinov, stated this in a video message published on September 15 on the Telegram channel.
Alaudinov commented on videos of captured Chechen fighters, in which they ask their relatives to contact the command so that they could be exchanged in the future. According to the general, these words made him furious, since voluntary captivity has always been an unforgivable shame for a Chechen, which can only be washed away with blood and personal sacrifice.
“Those of you who voluntarily surrendered into captivity, how great must be your delusion when you think that I would intercede, ask, or do anything to get you out of this captivity,” Alaudinov said.
He demanded that those who "surrendered like girls" no longer try to contact him and advised the Ukrainian side to keep them. Alaudinov added that he did not consider such fighters worthy of life and did not understand how they were going to live after captivity.
According to the general, there are different ways to end up in captivity: by voluntarily laying down arms or by being taken prisoner by the enemy after being seriously wounded or concussed. Those who were captured wounded, he emphasized, are rescued by the Akhmat special forces "by any means necessary."
"THEY FIGHT LIKE LIONS"
On August 12, Alaudinov said that the Ukrainian side was spreading false reports about fighters from the Akhmat special forces and the Aida unit allegedly surrendering in the Kursk region. He emphasized that the fighters were “fighting like lions” and that none of them had surrendered.
The next day, the general reported that after an unequal battle, the enemy had captured five fighters from the Akhmat-Chechnya detachment: three riflemen and two signalmen. He added that no one from Akhmat itself had been captured, and asked that rumors about the alleged "mass surrender" of fighters be told to "the old ladies on the farm."
EXCHANGE OF PRISONERs
On September 14, Russia and Ukraine held a prisoner exchange in the "103 for 103" format with the mediation of the UAE. The UAE Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude to both sides for their cooperation and specified that this was the eighth prisoner exchange since the beginning of the year with the mediation of Abu Dhabi. It was noted that a total of 1,994 prisoners were released.
The Russian servicemen transferred by the Ukrainian side, previously captured in the Kursk region, have arrived in Belarus. They will be delivered to their homeland, where they will undergo treatment and rehabilitation in hospitals.
Earlier, on August 24, Russia returned 115 servicemen from Ukrainian captivity, including conscripts who were captured in the border areas of the Kursk region. In exchange, 115 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were handed over to the Ukrainian side.
[Breitbart] The head of NATO’s military committee said Saturday that Ukraine has the solid legal and military right to strike deep inside Russia to gain combat advantage – reflecting the beliefs of a number of U.S. allies – even as the Biden administration balks at allowing Kyiv to do so using American-made weapons.
“Every nation that is attacked has the right to defend itself. And that right doesn´t stop at the border of your own nation,” said Adm. Rob Bauer, speaking at the close of the committee’s annual meeting, also attended by U.S. Gen. CQ Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Bauer, of Netherlands, also added that nations have the sovereign right to put limits on the weapons they send to Ukraine. But, standing next to him at a press briefing, Lt. Gen. Karel Rehka, chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, made it clear his nation places no such weapons restrictions on Kyiv.
“We believe that the Ukrainians should decide themselves how to use it,” Rehka said.
Their comments came as U.S. President Joe Biden is weighing whether to allow Ukraine to use American-provided long-range weapons to hit deep into Russia. And they hint at the divisions over the issue.
Biden met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday, after this week´s visit to Kyiv by their top diplomats, who came under fresh pressure to loosen weapons restrictions. U.S. officials familiar with discussions said they believed Starmer was seeking Biden’s approval to allow Ukraine to use British Storm Shadow missiles for expanded strikes in Russia.
Biden’s approval may be needed because Storm Shadow components are made in the U.S. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to share the status of private conversations, said they believed Biden would be amenable, but there has been no decision announced yet.
Providing additional support and training for Ukraine was a key topic at the NATO chiefs’ meeting, but it wasn’t clear Saturday if the debate over the U.S. restrictions was discussed.
Many of the European nations have been vigorously supportive of Ukraine in part because they worry about being the next victim of an empowered Russia.
At the opening of the meeting, Czech Republic President Petr Pavel broadly urged the military chiefs gathered in the room to be “bold and open in articulating your assessments and recommendations. The rounder and the softer they are, the less they will be understood by the political level.”
The allies, he said, must “take the right steps and the right decisions to protect our countries and our way of life.”
The military leaders routinely develop plans and recommendations that are then sent to the civilian NATO defense secretaries for discussion and then on to the nations’ leaders in the alliance.
The U.S. allows Ukraine to use American-provided weapons in cross-border strikes to counter attacks by Russian forces. But it doesn´t allow Kyiv to fire long-range missiles, such as the ATACMS, deep into Russia. The U.S. has argued that Ukraine has drones that can strike far and should use ATACMS judiciously because they only have a limited number.
Ukraine has increased its pleas with Washington to lift the restrictions, particularly as winter looms and Kyiv worries about Russian gains during the colder months.
