At least 8 loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed during an airstrike in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the airstrike was carried out in Shegal district, leaving 8 dead, 15 wounded, and an accommodation of the terrorist group destroyed.
The loyalists of the terror group have not commented regarding the report so far.
Kunar is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents are actively operating.
However, the ISIS loyalists have also increased their presence in the province as they attempt to expand foothold in the country despite major crackdowns against the group in eastern Nangarhar province.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) launched a major operation in Nangarhar to suppress the activities of ISIS loyalists in mid-July this year.
The US forces also provided support to the Afghan forces during the operation conducted in Kot, Achin and parts of the province where ISIS loyalists were conducting insurgency.
The US forces resumed operations against ISIS loyalists after the Obama administration granted them broader role to combat the terror groups in Afghanistan.

[Libya Observer] The front man of al-Bunyan al-Marsoos military operation, Mohammed al-Ghasri, said the end of the war on IS bully boyz in Sirte is looming as the Misrata-led forces are now battling IS in a 2 km area, pinpointing that they seized the entire residential area (1) on Monday.
Al-Ghasri added in a statement on Tuesday that all the festivities are now taking place in some parts of the residential area (3) and the military-sea district, Jiza, which lies to the north of the residential area (1) and next to the residential area (3).
"War will come to an end once this battle ended." al-Ghasri remarked.
"We’re still investigating the validity of the news that IS bully boyz have their families with them inside the area, where they are trapped." He indicated, pointing out that although the gunnies are of different nationalities and despite all the crimes they have committed so far, they have held Libyan girls as captives and are now dealing with them as "something" they own.
Al-Ghasri also added that Saturday’s battle against IS turbans was a great motivation for the fighters, who were so enthusiastically eager to battle the terrorists, leading to the death of 38 fighters, while on Sunday, only 9 fighters were also killed, he concluded.

Cairo-Forces loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA) have announced that battles against ISIS have resumed in Sirte, Libya, after a two-day suspension.
The forces announced that they have also started combing the liberated areas to clear them of mines or weapons.
Media Center of Solid Structure distributed photographs of the clashes in the area of maritime Jiza as well as the Mahla Bank, which are now under the control of the pro-GNA forces.
In addition, demining units uncovered a number of mines and explosives in one of the liberated neighborhoods after ISIS fled the area.
Since Solid Structure’s initiation, the Air Force Academy in Mesratah did around 600 sorties against ISIS positions in Sirte and in the desert to the south of the city. The Academy has been turned into a base in the battle against ISIS.
Mohammad Qanono, a spokesman at the airbase, said: “Quashed any fantasy ISIS might have had, prevented it from expanding and limited the movements of its members.”
“We asked for… U.S. air strikes because the U.S. air force is very precise,” added Qanono.
Tunisian Defense Minister Farhat Hachani said that North African countries should be cooperating more to stop ISIS fighters who are fleeing their Libyan stronghold of Sirte from returning to their homelands and causing trouble there.
Libyan forces loyal to U.N.-backed GNA initiated several attacks on Sirte to regain control from ISIS terrorists.
Tunisia estimates that about 4,000 of its citizens flew to fight alongside extremist groups and fears they might relocate inside the country.
Hachani told journalists on the sidelines of the meeting of military officials in Paris: “The danger is real is that chose to leave Sirte are heading south to eventually join Boko Haram, but some are also going west.”
He added: “There isn’t a regional strategy. Neighboring countries are managing the day to day security and military question … but while there are terror laws, you need proof that a young person was in a camp or fighting in jihadist ranks.”
The minister also declared that the international cooperation is “not up to the level of the danger, saying that “we are in a decisive moment. The threats endanger the entire region. We have to cooperate before the boat sinks.”
His French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian said the spread of militants outside of Libya should be dealt with.
“They don’t just disappear so there’s a new risk there and only a real cooperation between all neighboring countries will enable us to face that threat,” Le Drian said.
On another note, the Italian coast guard announced it had recovered the bodies of 15 refugees and rescued 2,700 others off the Libyan coast on Monday.
“More than 2,700 people were rescued … Fifteen bodies were recovered in the operations,” the coast guard said in a statement.
Former Italian Minister of Defense Ignazio La Russa told AKI news agency that he hoped Italy would send a military delegation to Libyan ports to monitor refugee boats. He called for refugee centers in Libya to receive those who are trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea.
At least seven terrorists have died in the last 24 hours while the Bunyan Marsous operations room has not reported any casualties among its fighters. The bodies of the dead IS men were discovered near the Wahda Bank, a sniper position overrun by BM yesterday.
Today the civil court was among positions taken from the terrorists.
As buildings are cleared of any booby traps, they have been searched. Among the finds has been a cache of documents detailing payments to fighters, most of them apparently non-Libyans, including Egyptians, Sudanese, Senegalese and Tunisian. Within them is a receipt for LD 300 paid by a Sudanese man, apparently for an abducted woman.
Besides caches of explosives, shells and light ammunition, some of the terrorists’ personal effects are also coming to light. These included family photographs and letters of Abu-Malek Al-Masry who was killed last week in the fighting that took the town’s Second District.
BM fighters, all now displaying a bright red identification flash on their clothing, have continued laying down fusillades of fire, shelling the remaining IS positions with tanks, anti-aircraft guns and RPGs. While some fighters persist in using daredevil tactics in open spaces, experienced BM snipers are seeking to suppress terrorist snipers who have claimed a regular toll among their attackers.
Bomb-disposal teams are meanwhile continuing to deal with booby-traps and mines, another major source of BM casualties. Over ten tonnes of collected explosives were detonated outside the town on Sunday in a huge blast that produced a plume of debris around .

[NAIJ] A major fight has broken out among members of the Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... terrorist group following the announcement of a new leader for the group by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group, the AFP has reported.
Abu Musab al-Barnawi, the son of Boko Haram’s founder Mohammed Yusuf, was named as the new leader of the group recently causing a battle for supremacy between him and the hitherto known leader, Abu Shekau. Shekau announced days later that he remained the leader of the sect. The military also reported recently a strike that dealt a major injury on Shekau.
AFP quoted sources as confirming the clash between factions of the group that has killed over 20,000 people and rendered millions homeless since 2009. The report said last week, while the military continued to decimate the sect, two festivities between the factions of the group led to the death of many loyalists of Shekau in the Monguno area of Borno state near Lake Chad.
The foreign news source quoted one Mele Kaka, a resident of the area, as saying: "The Barnawi faction launched an offensive against the Shekau faction who were camped in the villages of Yele and Arafa.
"In Yele, the assailants killed three people from the Shekau camp, injured one and took one with them, while several were killed in Arafa."
Abu Musab al-Barnawi, the new leader appointed by ISIS for Boko Haram Kaka said the clash caused residents of Arafa to flee just as the report added that a day before, members loyal to Barnawi attacked gunnies loyal to Shekau in Zuwa village in Marte district, killing an unspecified number.
"The Barnawi fighters told villagers after each attack that they were fighting the other camp because they had derailed from the true jihad and were killing innocent people, looting their property and burning their homes.
"They said such acts contravene the teachings of Islam and true jihad," Kaka said.
Hajiya Aisha Wakil, believed to be close to the sect, had recently said the gunnies were ready for dialogue and release of some of the kidnapped 219 school girls from Chibok.

The United States killed 13 al-Qaeda operatives in three counterterrorism strikes in Yemen from Aug. 24 to Sept. 4, the US military said on Tuesday.
All three of the strikes against the al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula targets were conducted in central Yemen’s Shabwah Governorate, US Central Command said in a statement. It did not specify how the strikes were carried out or the identities of those killed.
Late last month, a presumed US drone strike in southern Yemen killed three al-Qaeda suspects, a security official and a tribal source said. The strike hit a vehicle carrying the three alleged militants in the eastern suburbs of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa province, the official said.
Two of the suspects who were injured in the attack later succumbed to their wounds, a tribal source said, raising an earlier toll of one killed.
"Rosebud!"
The United States has carried out numerous drone strikes against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) operatives in Yemen.
American officials said this month that the US military had killed three AQAP fighters in a strike, also in Shabwa.

[IsraelTimes] Two police officers have been stabbed by a knife-wielding assailant in Brussels, Belgian media says.
The attack occurred in the heavily Muslim neighborhood of Molenbeek.
The two officers, both of whom were wearing bulletproof vests, were unharmed, according to Flandersnews.be.
The officers had approached the assailant to speak to him when they were attacked. One was stabbed in the stomach seven times, and another one stabbed once.
The attacker was apprehended after a short chase.
Molenbeek has been described by some as a hotbed of Islamism. Several terrorists from the March bombings in Brussels and the November attacks in Paris had been linked to the neighborhood.
A man attacked two police officers with a knife in a Brussels park on Wednesday but neither officer was hurt and there was no immediate indication that the assailant had a political motive, Belgian officials said.
A spokeswoman for the Brussels prosecutors office said the assailant had said nothing and the case had not been transferred to federal counter-terrorism specialists.

KARACHI: Two police officials were shot dead in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area of the metropolis on Wednesday night, it has been learnt.
"Suspects traveling in a car opened fire on two policemen," said SSP Karachi South Saqib Ismail Memon.
The armed assailants managed to escape from the crime scene immediately after the attack, he said.
The senior official said the policemen were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.
The policemen were on security duty with Dr Abdul Aziz, revealed Memon. "Dr Aziz has property dispute with his brother, in which one of his brother had already been killed," he added.
Dr Aziz told police that his younger brother, Abdul Wahab, allegedly orchestrated attack on him outside his house in which both his police guards were killed.
Police sources told Dawn that the doctor was provided guards as he was very close relative to a senior police officer.
The deceased were identified as Majid, 28, and Ishtiaq, 50.
"Policemen sustained critical bullet injuries which proved fatal," said Dr Seemin Jamali adding that both the constables were shot on their heads.

Kashmiris would accept Pakistan up to the borders with India. It is hardly in Indian National Interests to allow the friendly Moslem peaceful access to an advance on the Indian Border. I seem to remember what the friendly peaceful Moslems did in Mumbai recently. After all there has been a WAR between both sides about every six or seven years.
Kashmiri Moslems are lucky they get off so easily. India could send some ethnic cleansing squads out ofter dark and deny it ever happened. And more of the same where that came from....sort of what Moslems ALREADY do with al-Badr brigades.

Article 370 of the Indian Constitution gives special rights to Kashmiris (Nehru was from Kashmir). No law passed by the Indian parliament is law in Kashmir unless the state legislature approves. No non kashmiri Indian can reside in Kashmir. They cannot purchase land in Kashmir. If a female kashmiri marries a non kashmiri, she will lose her residency rights.
India could have easily swamped the state with migrants and erased the muslim demographic majority. It chose not to.

[IsraelTimes] Jordan says it has seized a "record" haul of more than 13 million Captagon pills, one of the most commonly used drugs among fighters in neighboring Syria.
The interior ministry says three alleged traffickers, including a foreigner, were placed in durance vile Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! in what it called "the most important seizure of drug tablets in the kingdom’s history."
A ministry statement says the pills were discovered hidden inside tumble dryers in the house of one of those arrested, near Amman.
Captagon is classified by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime as an "amphetamine-type stimulant" and usually blends amphetamines, caffeine and other substances.
There have been numerous reports of Captagon use among groups waging Syria’s war.
...and also numerous reports of jihadi groups, including ISIS, manufacturing and selling the stuff for fun and profit. The hangover throughout the region when the war peters out is going to be a doozy...
Jordan’s interior ministry says the haul of tablets was bound for "another country" without providing details.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels posted a brutal video via their social media accounts on Wednesday, showing a captured soldier being ruthlessly beheaded by two bad boys.
During the minute and a half long video, the jihadist rebels ask the captured soldier if he has any "last words," he replies that he would like a drink of water.
The jihadist replies "there is no water for you, you are an infidel," and then proceeds to behead the maimed soldier.
The soldier’s name, per the video, was Bassel al-Issa Marouf of Latakia City ‐ his age and rank are unknown.
This is the second beheading video to be posted by the jihadist rebels from the northern Hama front in a matter of 5 days.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Israeli Air Force carried out an Arclight airstrike in the Golan Heights on Wednesday night, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at the predominately Druze town of Hader.
According to a military source in al-Quneitra, an Israeli attack drone struck the 1st Regiment’s headquarters in the town of Hader, causing significant damage to their equipment.
The source added that no casualties were reported by the Syrian Arab Army at the 1st Regiment headquarters, just material damage to the base.
Israel’s attack on Wednesday night is their second assault on the Syrian Arab Army in the last 5 days.
The previous Israeli attack was conducted in response to a rogue mortar shell that landed in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
The Israeli Air Force overnight Wednesday-Thursday hit a number of positions belonging to the Syrian army after a projectile from the neighboring country struck an open area on the Israeli side of the Golan Heights earlier Wednesday evening.
Israel has said it holds the Syrian regime responsible for all errant fire, regardless of the source, and frequently retaliates against stray missile strikes inside its territory.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir told the BBC that he still believed in a political solution to the conflict, and that Mr Assad was not in a "position of advantage or victory", despite his forces’ recent advances.
This new plan is the Syrian opposition’s most comprehensive answer to that question: What happens if President Assad goes?
It’s meant to reassure the president’s foreign backers, like Russia and Iran, that there can be a stable transition which avoids the collapse of state institutions, and violent chaos that’s shattered neighbouring states like Iraq. That’s a concern shared in many capitals, and most of all Damascus.
But the demand for President Assad and his closest Syrian allies to step down has always been rejected in Damascus, and will be again. It’s never clear how much Moscow and Tehran are able and willing to change that. This plan is meant to test that.
But the Syrian army, backed by powerful outside support, is making gains on the ground, through force, or local deals which amount to surrender. If this plan doesn’t work it will be back to Plan B ‐ more military support to all sides in a devastating war.
