Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.
Muratov, a Nobel laureate, stated that “Gorbachev gave both the country and the world an incredible gift - he gave us thirty years of peace. Without the threat of global and nuclear war."
The falsity and media cheating of these statements will not surprise anyone who knows the peculiarities of the editorial policy and selection of materials in Novaya Gazeta, where Muratov is listed as the chief editor. It is unlikely that he is unaware of the direct consequences of Gorbachev's rule, destructive for the country and the world. Let's list just a few.
- Permanent war between Azerbaijan and Armenia 1988-present. About 30,000 dead, 80-100,000 refugees;
- The civil war in Tajikistan 1992-1997, according to various estimates, from 100,000 to 150,000 dead, 55,000 orphans, over one million refugees;
- The US and allied invasion and subsequent war in Iraq in 1991-2011, which escalated into a civil war in 2011-2017. The number of victims among civilians - 1.500 million, 3 million lost their homes;
- The civil war in the Balkans in 1991-1999, including the Kosovo conflict and the bombing of Yugoslavia, which brought the world to the brink of nuclear war, when the PRC put its strategic forces on full alert after missile attacks on the embassy in Belgrade - 160,000 dead, including including about 6 thousand civilians after the air raids on Yugoslavia.

The list is certainly incomplete - Two Chechen wars specifically in our country are not mentioned. The Syrian war, as the largest war of the 21st century before the start of the NMD, the war in Yemen, the 20-year war in Afghanistan ...
In general, 30 years of peace exist only in the minds of completely insane idiots, like those who usually push for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Commentary by Russian military blogger Andrey Chervonets
The real numbers of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are classified, so, for the Office of the President this is a painful point, and the announced information negatively affects the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the truth came out
The losses of Ukraine during the special military operation amount to hundreds of thousands of people, and the authorities did nothing to avoid casualties, said the former deputy commander of the special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and until December 2020, deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, General Serhiy Krivonos, on the Ukrainian Media YouTube channel network.
"[We have] the right to say to the authorities: 'Why didn’t you do anything, why <…> hundreds of thousands of dead – what did they die for? What have you done to save their lives? Stories that this is out of time, this is an attempt to blur the memory, to erase history. And how can you erase the blood of the dead, which already number in the hundreds of thousands? Who will be responsible for this?'" - such were the words of the general.
The general asks strange questions. Well, let's say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine die for Zelensky's villa in Italy, which (as it turns out) he rents from the Russians.
But seriously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are dying now because (and their losses are now an order of magnitude higher than those of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation), they trampled on the memory of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who fought against the fascist Nazi evil spirits and Bandera.

The Russian concept of combined arms leans heavily on mass artillery. Their front line elements know that the artillery supporting a 20 km front can annihilate any one square kilometer of enemy forces a couple times a day. So, whenever their opponent concentrates forces to attack, that concentration will be obliterated. (See US Army FM-100-1,2,3)
This is why the U.S. Air-Land Battle doctrine was developed. It emphasized combined formations of aircraft, helicopters, and high speed armor formations. These could move through terrain faster than the Soviet (now Russian) artillery organizations could respond. While the Soviet units could target a grid square, they would be aiming at the one that the U.S. forces had already moved through.
The Ukrainian forces have no such doctrine, are slow to move, and once concentrated to attack ought to quickly succumb to the Russian artillery strikes.
The Israelis urged the Ukrainians to surrender only a couple weeks into this conflict to avoid massive destruction of their infrastructure, military forces, and institutions. They were right. And still are. The sooner the Ukrainians agree to stop fighting the better they will be.
The Ukrainians do not have the training, doctrine, and equipment (even with western augmentation) to do anything other than to lose to the massive Russian artillery, first slowly, like now, and then quickly, later.

Some part for the turbine made by Seimens can't get through because... sanctions. The EU has the audacity to claim 'we have released the transfer of said part, still no gas! Economic warfare!' Go get your gas from some Nazi/moslem/globalist pricks.

Zero sympathy for the Europeans. If anybody with half a brain really, truly believes that Putin is responsible for Europe's energy woes (and even inflation), then I don't know what to say.

Oh no, he's wealthy and evil. He's got a lovely wife and successful family. He works for free. He's not from the Washington establishment and dislikes career politicians. He's gruff, does mean tweets, and calls people "worthless communist SOB's." We can't believe or follow anyone like that.

During the government's response to Covid, I had a number of carpetbaggers come through, I'm here to help support small business - but I would like a discount (which brought the sale price below purchase price).

Iran selling weapons to both sides of the Russo-Ukrainian War makes sense when you know that Iraq's primary 122mm & 152mm shell source in the 1980's Iran-Iraq War was the USSR .
