[PRESSCALIFORNIA] A Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Highway Patrol division in Southern California prohibited officers this month from displaying Thin Blue Line items, meant to honor law enforcement. Meanwhile, ...back at the bunker, his Excellency called the chief of staff and complained that the artillery was keeping him awake... the the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... Police Department is decorating its precincts with materials celebrating Black Lives Matter, an organization calling for the defunding of the police.
The CHP memo, a roll call briefing document with the Border Division dated Aug. 14, directed officers to "remove all Thin Blue Line paraphernalia, including anything resembling it ... immediately. This includes any paraphernalia hung anywhere in the office, stickers/patches on State or personal property that may be seen by the public during the course of duties, and email signature blocks."
The Thin Blue Line, depicted as a black and white U.S. flag with a blue stripe, represents the sacrifices that law enforcement make to protect the public and prevent civil unrest. Civilians display the symbol to show their support for the nation’s authorities. Progressive activists, however, liken the symbol to white supremacy ...the pernicious doctrine that laws were intended to be obeyed, that society works better when people don't pour shreiking from their places of worship every Friday for a weekend of rioting over insults real or imagined; and that cannibalism, beastiality, incest, murder, theft, rape, and similar activities are bad. A Dead White European (which invalidates his opinion) philosopher once opined that societies thrive when a person's word can be relied upon, and that a society which puts individual happiness first will invariably fail. Strangely enough, other successful societies, such as China, Japan, Korea, and those kinds of places could also be lumped with white supremacist societies, since they push the same values... and police misconduct.
A California police officer who reviewed the document said it amounted to an official order because of the use of the word "shall."
"It’s all political so I understand why they sent it out," he said.
Given the sensitive nature of the matter, there’s a reason the mandate was not sent out as an official public memorandum, a CHP representative in the field said. However, there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... he said the directive came from the commissioner’s office in CHP headquarters.
"CHP wants to stay neutral and not appear to endorse any particular group," he said.
A representative from the commissioner’s office said the memo, which was leaked to Press California, was not an official directive.
"The item ... was included as part of a shift briefing for one area command within Border Division and has since been rescinded since it was a misinterpretation of department policy," said Fran Clader, CHP’s Director of Communications in Sacramento.
"[It] was intended as a generic reminder to personnel to refrain from promoting any social cause on state property or equipment visible to the public," she continued. "The advisement does not pertain to personally owned items. "
San Francisco seems to have missed that memo. SFPD weeks ago unveiled prominent Black Lives Matter messages to display in cop shoppes. Few would disagree with the phrase, but the organization is another story. It has conducted campaigns nationwide to defund the police and its supporters have led protests in which officers have been attacked, injured and killed.
The San Francisco Police Commission, made up of civilians, passed the resolution requiring the BLM displays.
"The poster employs the Pan-African colors of red, yellow, green, and black in lettering related to Black lives matter terminology," the SFPD wrote in a blurb.
Not everyone was impressed.
"For me, they’re like absolutely meaningless. These are just platitudes and it’s just tokenism," Kaylah Williams, an organizer for the Defund SFPD Now Campaign, told KGO News.

[EN.ALGHADEER.TV] The stinging success of Mozambique’s Islamic bully boy rebels in seizing and holding a northern port city signals to the government, neighboring countries and the world that Africa has yet another insurgency hotspot.
A battle looms as the government is expected to launch its forces to regain control of Mocimboa da Praia, a strategic port in northeastern Mozambique that was captured by the bandidosDeath Eaters earlier this month.

"OK, OK, so he OD'ed. Sorry about all the rioting and looting and destruction. Howzabout we put him down as COVID-19 and forget all this ever happened?"
While BLM & antifa rioters have been destroying the Portland economy & causing public mayhem for three straight months, Portland Mayor @tedwheeler promoted a coronavirus relief fund exclusively for blacks. #PortlandRiotshttps://t.co/JIqbeaNid6

Section 20 of Oregon Bill of Rights:
Equality of privileges and immunities of citizens.
No law shall be passed granting to any citizen or class of citizens privileges, or immunities, which, upon the same terms, shall not equally belong to all citizens.
This fund may or may not have been the result of legislation, but it seems unless it's a private fund, it's unconstitutional. And if it goes against the grain of the Oregon constitution, Ted shouldn't be talking about it.
[DAILYTIMES.PK] The National Assembly on Monday approved Anti-Money Laundering (Second Amendment) Bill, 2020, amid strong protest by the opposition parties.
The bill was tabled in the Lower House by Adviser to PM on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan and was opposed by Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam ...a Pak religious party. It is usually part of the govt, never part of the solution... -Fazl (JUI-F), Pakistain People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Speaking on the occasion, Babar Awan said that they would not tolerate any hindrance over legislation on matters pertaining to the national interest. He further offered the opposition to sit together to bring more transparency on the role of authority tasked to make arrests under the law.
Special Assistant to PM on Accountability Shahzad Akbar said that they have made an amendment in the anti-money laundering bill passed in 2007 in order to get Pakistain out from the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). "We took opposition parties into confidence over every amendment and accepted their proposals for bringing improvement in the bill," he said. However, some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go... he said, certain amendments which the opposition demanded particularly benefit the opposition leader in National Assembly.
Speaking on behalf of the opposition parties, former prime minister and PPP politician Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that they had proposed certain amendments in the bill, especially regarding its Section 10. "We are against the power of arrest in the bill," he said, adding that such powers could give anyone the authority to make arrests without prior approval of arrest warrants.
He said that under the law, NAB is tasked to deal with anti-money laundering cases. "Even the apex court has termed the NAB’s performance as unsatisfactory," he said, while terming it a black law and opposing its passage from the National Assembly.
Mohsin Ranjha of the PML-N made it clear that the opposition could not make any point scoring over this important bills but suggested that it might be passed through consensus.

Remember all of the tanks parked in the Libyan desert? Maintenance B Hard...
My brother shared an anecdote a friend told him about trying, and failing (!), to convince a local he was training to use a torsion wrench on a jet engine fitting (he would use a normal wrench if he wasn't watched). Often peasant farmer to trained mechanic is a step too far.

Your brother’s friend framed it wrong, magpie. Mr. Wife got the workers at one of his Egyptian chemical suppliers to wear their safety shoes by telling them that the chemical caused impotence and was absorbed through the feet. He was not, however, able to think of a reason that would persuade them to cover the holes in the mezzanine floor with something stronger than cardboard...
A friend sent the video in an e-mail. I found it on YouTube. 2'-50". Just amazing. You can see a couple of shells hit the target before it explodes. Multiple targets, two guns. Part of Iron Dome, I guess.

Your job is to reload this weapon after it's done. Try to have it done before the next time we need to use it.

In the old days, Isreali secret agent James Baum smoked Phillip Morris because of the coupons.
I wonder how much that engagement cost.
Okay, solid shot because HE would be redundant if you hit and useless if you tried a proximity fuse.
So what and who are down range?

According to comments on YouTube: this is Arma 3, it's a video game.
[FoxNews] U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced Tuesday that it has canceled previous plans to lay off 13,000 employees, nearly 70% of the agency’s workforce, by the end of the month.
“Averting this furlough comes at a severe operational cost that will increase backlogs and wait times across the board, with no guarantee we can avoid future furloughs,” USCIS Deputy Director for Policy Joseph Edlow said in a statement Tuesday.
The agency, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, processes citizenship, asylum requests, visas and passports – and is largely funded through fees.
But the USCIS announced in May that due to COVID-19 restrictions, it was headed toward a $571 million deficit and furloughs were likely.
Edlow said that cost-saving measures such as reducing federal contracts that assist the agency with a range of duties, including large amounts of paperwork, have enabled the agency to refrain from furloughs but will extend waiting periods.
“Anticipated operational impacts include increased wait times for pending case inquiries with the USCIS Contact Center, longer case processing times, and increased adjudication time for aliens adjusting status or naturalizing,” the USCIS statement said Tuesday.
The USCIS said that lawmakers have encouraged the agency not to make these operational changes, but Congress has denied the immigration agency a requested $1.2 billion in emergency funds to assist in with operational needs.
“A return to normal operating procedures requires congressional intervention to sustain the agency through fiscal year 2021,” Edlow said.
It is unclear at this time to the extent at which the operational turnaround will fall, but due to the new changes the agency will see a surplus of $230 million, enabling them to put off furloughs through the end of the year.
