[PJ Media] A Washington, D.C., federal judge, perhaps tired of getting the runaround from the Obama State Department, has moved up a hearing with the State Department, originally scheduled for September, to this Thursday, August 20th. This is the latest development in a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that seeks records about the controversial employment status of Huma Abedin, the former deputy chief of staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Last week, Washington, D.C., federal judge Emmet G. Sullivan ordered the State Department to explain in writing what it was doing to work with the FBI and the Department of Justice to obtain the emails from Hillary Clinton's server, and explain where any missing emails might be found. In its status report, filed Friday, the State Department told the judge that it was doing pretty much nothing to obtain any emails other than those Mrs. Clinton already provided.
The NY Observer's Sidney Powell marveled at the State Department's brazenness:
Apparently, the State Department hasn't read our prior reports on Judge Emmet G. Sullivan or taken note of how similar claims have not been well-received when made by the IRS.
With astonishing disregard for the truth, the Judge's questions, or its responsibilities to Congress or the citizens of the United States, the State Department advised that it "is not currently working with DOJ, the FBI or other agencies" for two reasons. "First, the FOIA does not require an agency to search for and produce records that are not in its possession and control." And, it claims that it is neither in possession nor control of the Clinton's server.
Obviously, that is precisely the cause of the entire outrage in the first place. The initial legal violations exist because the State Department did not require, and Mrs. Clinton did not use, the secure State.gov for her official emails. Mrs. Clinton should never have had any official State Department information in her personal account or on her server--most especially any sensitive, classified information or any nformation "respecting the national defense" such as drone signal intelligence.
You can say anything you like, just add "after a fair trial, of course" at the end.
Example - Hillary should be flogged, flayed, hung upside down over a cesspit then given to a pack of wild dogs to ravage--after a fair trial, of course.

[ABC.NET.AU] The game park owner accused of letting an American tourist illegally hunt and kill a lion on his property in Zim-bob-we has been charged in connection with the killing and released on bail in Hwange, his lawyer says.
The killing of Cecil, a 13-year-old rare black-maned lion, and a popular tourist attraction, caused global consternation and triggered a major backlash against Africa's multi-million dollar hunting industry.
Honest Ndlovu owns the game park into which Cecil was lured from the adjacent Hwange National Park and shot with a bow and arrow by American dentist Walter Palmer.
The world is outraged at the recent killing of Cecil the lion in Zim-bob-we, but graphic photos reveal trophy hunting is a popular pastime around the world.
A copy of the charge sheet said Ndlovu was charged with permitting "a person who is not ordinarily resident in Zim-bob-we to hunt the said animal which was not on the hunting quota."
His lawyer Tonderai Mukuku said Ndlovu denies the charge and was set free on $US200 ($270) bail. He will return to court on September 18.
The same Hwange court last week postponed until September 28 the trial of local hunter Theo Bronkhorst.
Bronkhorst, who acted as Mr Palmer's guide, is accused of failing to prevent Mr Palmer from killing Cecil, who had been fitted with a GPS collar as part of an Oxford University study, and was a favourite with tourists visiting the Hwange park.
Zim-bob-we wants Mr Palmer, 55, extradited from the United States to face trial.

The rebel artillery that hit the town of Sartana in far southern Donetsk came from the east, according to a report posted on the website of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), according to Russian language news accounts.
An OSCE team arrived in Sartana on Monday afternoon to inspect shell craters, 11 of them in all, to determine the direction from which the artillery was shot. According to a report in korrespondent.net, the artillery was shot from the east, which means rebel artillery hit Sartana.
The report goes on to explain that 122mm or 152mm tube artillery were fired in the strike in the town, which killed two civilians and wounded another 11 late Sunday night. Both artillery types are supposed to be withdrawn to a safe distance from the line of contact. At the time, Ukrainian authorities claimed that the rebels used 82mm and 120mm mortar fire on the town. Rebel officials constantly claim in rebel media that their forces do not fire their artillery, even in response to Ukrainian artillery fire.
Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin claimed just after the attack that the artillery attack could not have come from the rebels, adding, "everybody on both sides of the line knows it." Ukrainian forces have fired artillery shorts before, but in this case, it was several rebel artillery strikes launched against a number of Ukrainian targets, a fact which cast doubt on rebel and Russian denials of the incident at Sartana.
Among the targets hit by rebel artillery late Sunday night was Talakovke. On Tuesday the Donetsk ministry of defense which controls all rebel forces in Donetsk said that several artillery pieces were spotted in Talakovke, presumably by rebel drones. The spokesman for the Donetsk ministry of defense, Lt. Colonel Eduard Basurin was quoted in an official news release saying that heavy artillery had been spotted at Berdyansk, which also is north of Mariupol.
Lt. Colonel Basurin's remarks also were likely a response to an OSCE report detailing the location of rebel artillery in the region. According to the OSCE report, rebel artillery was spotted in several towns along the contact line in southern Donetsk. Among the towns listed was Starolaspa, where nine tanks were spotted, in Novolaspa with one tank, three artillery pieces in Oktyabr and four artillery pieces in Zaichenko.
The same OSCE report said that one Ukrainian tank was spotted in Granitnoye, from where rebel officials have been claiming for week artillery had been originating, five self-propelled artillery vehicles in Priovrazhnom and two heavy artillery pieces in Aslanov.
Donetsk defense ministry officials said on Tuesday that Ukrainian ceasefire violations were reduced to 26 total. Among the targets hit by Ukrainian artillery and direct fire means were the Petrovsky, Kuibyshevsky, and Kievsky districts in Donetsk city, and at the Donetsk airport.
The Ukrainian ministry of defense said on Tuesday that rebel artillery activity was reduced. Locations reporting artillery fire include at Marinka, where rebels used 120mm mortars, and at Shirokino, in southern Donetsk, where rebels also used 120mm mortars. Bogdanovka was also struck by rebel artillery, this time 122mm artillery.
Ukrainian defense ministry official Colonel Aleksandr Motuzyanik suggested in his daily briefing that rebel forces may be running low on ammunition, given the reduced amount of firing the rebels have done over the past 24 hours. Colonel Motuzyanik said that "not one single instance of the enemy firing in residential areas has been recorded" in the last 24 hours. He also said that rebel forces are marshaling heavy equipment at Donetsk city, Spartak and at the airport.

Hackers who hit cheaters' dating site, Ashley Madison, published stolen customer data, experts said Tuesday.
The data is posted on what is known as the "dark web," a part of the Internet that can't be searched by Google or most common search engines. It also can only be viewed with a special Tor browser, according to Per Thorsheim, a cybersecurity expert in Norway. The information that was posted included customer names and credit card numbers, Thorsheim said. The amount of money they spent on the site was also posted.
The site, which is owned by Avid Life Media, is designed to help married people cheat on their spouses. Its slogan is ,"Life is short. Have an affair."
It said it's actively monitoring this situation and working with law enforcement in the United States and in Canada, where the site is based.

I"m curious who would even use Ashley Madison. It just seems like an advertisement saying 'black mail me'. I'd always assumed that would be the girls blackmailing their date but hackers will do.
BERLIN — Scientists say they have found rare evidence of a prehistoric massacre in Europe after discovering a 7,000-year-old mass grave with skeletal remains from some of the continent's first farmers bearing terrible wounds.
Archaeologists who painstakingly examined the bones of some 26 men, women and children buried in the Stone Age grave site at Schoeneck-Kilianstaedten, near Frankfurt, say they found blunt force marks to the head, arrow wounds and deliberate efforts to smash at least half of the victims' shins — either to stop them from running away or as a grim message to survivors.
"It was either torture or mutilation. We can't say for sure whether the victims were still alive," said Christian Meyer, one of the authors of the study published Monday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Meyer said the findings from Schoeneck-Kilianstaedten bolster theories put forward after the earlier discovery of two other grave sites in Germany and Austria. At all three sites, the victims and the perpetrators appeared to have been from the Linearbandkeramik — or LBK — culture, a farming people who arrived in central Europe about 5,500 B.C. Their name derives from the German phrase for "linear band ceramics," a reference to the style of their pottery.

surely the massacre was the result of global warming
Global something, at any rate, lord garth. From the article:
Meyer, an anthropologist at the University of Mainz, Germany, said nobody can say for sure what prompted the killings so long after the fact. But it's possible to put forward theories, based on what's known about the LBK culture and the conditions they faced. For example, the end of LBK culture coincided with a period of climate change.
I'm betting that was actually global cooling, because the good anthropologist carefully did not say.
[Hurriyet Daily News] Four suspects have been released over an alleged sex scandal at a local branch of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in northwestern province of Kocaeli's Gebze district.
Photos showing a half-naked woman inside a meeting room of the AKP's Gebze branch had stirred debate after they circulated on social media.
Four suspects, identified only by the initials B.K., S.M., H.T. and D.A., were detained by police and released on Aug. 18 after testifying at court.
A local newspaper had reported that one of the AKP youth wing heads allegedly had sexual intercourse with a woman and took pictures of her inside the branch building.
Gebze Mayor Adnan Köser, himself from the AKP, has dismissed claims of a scandal, claiming the controversy is a plot aimed at slandering the party.
