A repeat offender on probation viciously clobbered a rookie NYPD officer, knocking her down onto a Bronx sidewalk before other cops pounced on him in a wild caught-on-camera arrest Thursday evening.

Ernst Delma, 41, slugged the female officer in the face when she tried to break up an argument between him and a group of kids on a Clason Point street corner, authorities and law enforcement sources said.

Cyber
[F24] Iran ramping up cyber attacks ahead of US presidential vote, Microsoft says
[France24] Iran is ramping up online activity that appears intended to influence the upcoming U.S. election, in one case targeting a presidential campaign with an email phishing attack, Microsoft said Friday.

Iranian actors also have spent recent months creating fake news sites and impersonating activists, laying the groundwork to stoke division and potentially sway American voters this fall, especially in swing states, the technology giant found.

The findings in Microsoft’s newest threat intelligence report show how Iran, which has been active in recent U.S. campaign cycles, is evolving its tactics for another election that’s likely to have global implications. The report goes a step beyond anything U.S. intelligence officials have disclosed, giving specific examples of Iranian groups and the actions they have taken so far. Iran's United Nations mission denied it had plans to interfere or launch cyberattacks in the U.S. presidential election.

The report doesn’t specify Iran’s intentions besides sowing chaos in the United States, though U.S. officials have previously hinted that Iran particularly opposes former President Donald Trump. U.S. officials also have expressed alarm about Tehran's efforts to seek retaliation for a 2020 strike on an Iranian general that was ordered by Trump. This week, the Justice Department unsealed criminal charges against a Pakistani man with ties to Iran who’s alleged to have hatched assassination plots targeting multiple officials, potentially including Trump.

The report also reveals how Russia and China are exploiting U.S. political polarization to advance their own divisive messaging in a consequential election year.

Microsoft’s report identified four examples of recent Iranian activity that the company expects to increase as November’s election draws closer.

First, a group linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in June targeted a high-ranking U.S. presidential campaign official with a phishing email, a form of cyberattack often used to gather sensitive information, according to the report, which didn't identify which campaign was targeted. The group concealed the email’s origins by sending it from the hacked email account of a former senior adviser, Microsoft said.

Days later, the Iranian group tried to log into an account that belonged to a former presidential candidate, but wasn’t successful, Microsoft’s report said. The company notified those who were targeted.

In a separate example, an Iranian group has been creating websites that pose as U.S.-based news sites targeted to voters on opposite sides of the political spectrum, the report said.

One fake news site that lends itself to a left-leaning audience insults Trump by calling him “raving mad" and suggests he uses drugs, the report said. Another site meant to appeal to Republican readers centers on LGBTQ issues and gender-affirming surgery.

A third example Microsoft cited found that Iranian groups are impersonating U.S. activists, potentially laying the groundwork for influence operations closer to the election.

Finally, another Iranian group in May compromised an account owned by a government employee in a swing state, the report said. It was unclear whether that cyberattack was related to election interference efforts.

The Microsoft report said that as Iran escalates its cyber influence, Russia-linked actors also have pivoted their influence campaigns to focus on the U.S. election, while actors linked to the Chinese Communist Party have taken advantage of pro-Palestinian university protests and other current events in the U.S. to try to raise U.S. political tensions.

Microsoft said it has continued to monitor how foreign foes are using generative AI technology. The increasingly cheap and easy-to-access tools can generate lifelike fake images, photos and videos in seconds, prompting concern among some experts that they will be weaponized to mislead voters this election cycle.

While many countries have experimented with AI in their influence operations, the company said, those efforts haven’t had much impact so far. The report said as a result, some actors have “pivoted back to techniques that have proven effective in the past — simple digital manipulations, mischaracterization of content, and use of trusted labels or logos atop false information.”

Microsoft’s report aligns with recent warnings from U.S. intelligence officials, who say America’s adversaries appear determined to seed the internet with false and incendiary claims ahead of November’s vote.

Top intelligence officials said last month that Russia continues to pose the greatest threat when it comes to election disinformation, while there are indications that Iran is expanding its efforts and China is proceeding cautiously when it comes to 2024.

Iran's efforts seem aimed at undermining candidates seen as being more likely to increase tension with Tehran, the officials said. That’s a description that fits Trump, whose administration ended a nuclear deal with Iran, reimposed sanctions and ordered the killing of the top Iranian general.

Third teen arrested over Taylor Swift terror plot after pledging allegiance to ISIS
[NYPOST] A third teenager has been arrested over the foiled bloodbath terror plot to strike a Taylor Swift concert in Austria — just days after he pledged allegiance to ISIS, Austrian security officials said Friday.

The 18-year-old Iraqi national was nabbed Thursday night in Vienna after authorities realized he'd been in contact with the alleged ringleader before the sinister plans were uncovered, according to Interior Minister Gerhard Karner.

He had been in contact with the main perpetrator, but is not directly connected to the attack plans, the minister told a news conference.

But, as was found out a few days ago, he took an oath of allegiance specifically to the IS on Aug. 6, he said, referring to the terror group the Islamic State, also known as ISIS.

The third suspect ran in the same social circles as the alleged mastermind — a 19-year-old Austrian with North Macedonian roots, Karner added.

Three soldiers martyred, four terrorists killed in separate incidents in KP's Tirah
[GEO.TV] Three Pakistain Army soldiers embraced martyrdom during shootouts with holy warriors at three different locations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Tirah Valley, the military’s media affairs wing said on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), fire exchange took place between security forces and the "Khwarij" at three different locations in Tirah Valley of Khyber District.

"Resultantly, four khwarij were sent to hell due to effective engagement by own troops."

However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
during the intense fire exchange, three brave soldiers — Havildar Inam Gul, 37, resident of District Mianwali; Sepoy Muhammad Imran, 29, resident of District Tank and Sepoy Iltaf Khan, 22, resident of District Mardan, — having fought gallantly embraced Shahadat.

It added that a sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other "Kharji" found in the area as security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

Iraq
US gives Peshmerga more military aid
[RUDAW.NET] The United States delivered another batch of military aid to the Kurdistan Region’s Peshmerga forces on Tuesday, with the US consulate in Erbil calling it a "significant milestone."

"Today we provided important equipment to @KRG_MOPE marking a significant milestone in building the capacity of the #Peshmerga Forces. This weaponry will enhance the Peshmerga Forces’ collective security capabilities to ensure the enduring Iraqi-led defeat of ISIS [Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
]," the US consulate in Erbil said in a post on X.

The aid was given to the Peshmerga in a ceremony in Erbil attended by top military officials.

"Another convoy of aid and assistance from the coalition, which consisted of a number of howitzer artillery was presented by the [global] Coalition to the Ministry of Peshmerga of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and then handed over to the two commands of the Support Forces (1 and 2) of the Ministry of Peshmerga in a ceremony," the Peshmerga ministry said in a statement.

Minister Shoresh Ismail thanked the coalition for the aid and emphasized the importance of the equipment for the Peshmerga.

"The region is heading towards an invisible complexity, and if there is a threat to our country, we must confront it with one voice and oneness," he said.

When ISIS seized swathes of the Iraqi and Syria territories in 2014, Peshmerga played a key role in driving the krazed killer group out of the areas disputed between Erbil and Baghdad, especially Kirkuk. The US-led global coalition provided Peshmerga and Iraqi forces with military assistance to defeat ISIS territorially in 2017.

The United States has provided the Peshmerga with several rounds of military aid over the years.

Babakir Zebari, a military advisor at the Kurdistan Region Presidency, told Rudaw in June that the Iraqi government does not allow the global coalition against ISIS to provide the Peshmerga forces with drones and other weapons to defend themselves from attacks.

Iraqi court orders arrest of Yazidi Peshmerga...
Another blasphemy case, because Moslems treasure being able to murder infidels, but hate being called out on it.
[Rudaw] A Nineveh court issued an arrest warrant on Thursday for Qassim Shasho, commander of the Yazidi Peshmerga unit in Shingal district, on charges of blasphemy.

The specific charge is insulting Muhammad (PBUH), the Prophet of Islam, and inciting religious conflict and the warrant was issued after a video was shared on social media of Shasho making a controversial remark.

In the video, Shasho is heard saying, "We should not say orders have ended. Orders will not end as long as we live. I am responsible for what I am saying, as long as Mohammed [referring to Islam] exists, orders against us will not end. They are the enemies of our religion."

The term "order," or "farman" in Kurdish, is used by Yazidis to describe the disasters and genocides that they have suffered.

Yazidi history says that the minority has suffered 73 genocides, most recently at the hands of the Islamic State (ISIS), which seized large areas in Iraq and Syria in 2014. In the Yazidi heartland of Shingal in northern Iraq, the group killed about 5,000 Yazidi men and older women, burying some in mass graves, and enslaved nearly 7,000 women and children.

Shasho's statement elicited a range of reactions, from hate speech and criticism to defense and support. Some social media users warned his comments could make things worse for Yezidis and others said Muslims should be open to hearing such criticisms.

After the video of Shasho was shared online, Yazidis said they have received hate speech online.
Yazidis have reached out to Yazda, fearing imminent attacks. We urge national and international actors to prioritize safety, Yazda organization, which advocates for Yazidis and provides services for genocide survivors, said in a post on X.

At an Erbil event this week marking the 10th anniversary of the Yazidi genocide, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani called the tragedy a turning point in Iraq's and the Kurdistan Region's history, urging the international community to ensure such crimes are never repeated.

Shasho's nephew said the situation has been exaggerated.

"This issue, despite our clarifications, has been greatly exaggerated. The intention is to confuse matters, which is why supporters of ISIS are taking advantage of it," Haidar Shasho told Rudaw on Thursday.

Like his uncle, Haidar Shasho is a military commander, leading the Ezidixan protection forces, a Yazidi force within the Peshmerga ministry.

If these actions persist, we will take a stand, as those opposing us today have never spoken against the violations and neglect committed against our people, he said.

Israel's hunt for Hamas's elusive new chief Sinwar
[GEO.TV] Since Hamas’s unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, Yahya Sinwar has been at the top of Israel’s most wanted list, but the newly appointed chief of the Palestinian group has remained elusive as ever.

Israeli commanders believe Sinwar, 61, is skittering hiding in a labyrinthine maze of tunnels that Hamas has built under the Gaza Strip over the years.

[GEO.TV] More than 100 Paleostinians were killed and dozens maimed in an Israeli strike that targeted a school sheltering displaced people in the Daraj district of eastern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, the official Paleostinian news agency WAFA said on Saturday.

As per Al Jazeera, Israeli military confirmed the attack carried out on school in Gaza City, claiming bully boyz were hiding there.

"...dozens [others] maimed after the Israeli bombing of the al-Taba'een school in the al-Sahaba area in Gaza City," Gaza's civil defence agency front man Mahmoud Basal said in a post on Telegram.

Basal described the incident as "a horrific massacre", with some bodies catching fire.

"The crews are trying to control the fire to retrieve the bodies of the deaders and rescue the maimed," he said.

Update from the Times of Israel at 11:30 a.m. ET:
The Gazoo Strip’s Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
-run civil defense agency said over 90 people were killed in the Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
, describing the incident as a "horrific massacre." The IDF expressed heavy skepticism toward the claim, saying the numbers appeared to have been inflated.

The IDF said that according to its intelligence, at least 20 terror operatives, including "senior commanders," were at the site when it was struck.

Fadel Naeem, director of the al-Ahli hospital in Gaza City, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that the facility received 70 bodies of those killed in the strike and the body parts of at least 10 others. The Hamas-rung health ministry said another 47 people were maimed.

The army said it had struck an "active" Hamas and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
command room embedded within a mosque in the al-Taba’een school complex, in Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood. It said the site was used by the terror operatives as a hideout and to plan and carry out attacks against IDF troops in Gaza and against Israel.

To mitigate harm to civilians in the strike, the IDF said it carried out "many steps," including using aerial surveillance, "precision munitions," and other intelligence.

It also accused Hamas of "systematically [violating] international law and [operating] from within civilian shelters, brutally exploiting the civilian population and institutions as human shields for their terror activities."

According to military assessments, Hamas operatives are struggling to remain inside tunnels as the long war drags on and are therefore increasingly moving to above-ground sites, while hiding among innocents.

The IDF also said two days ago that it had struck Hamas command and control centers in schools in the Daraj and Tuffah neighborhoods. On Monday it said the commander of Hamas’s Sheikh Radwan Battalion was killed in an airstrike at a school in Gaza City.

Many shuttered schools have been used as shelters for displaced Paleostinians amid the war, but Israel says Hamas regularly uses the sites to run its operations and hide from the IDF. It says it takes steps to ensure its strikes on such sites are precisely targeting the combatants and to limit harm to civilians.

On Friday morning, the IDF launched a new ground operation in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, following what it said was "intelligence indicating the presence of bully boyz and terror infrastructure in the area."

A day earlier, the military told Paleostinians in the Khan Younis area to evacuate to an Israeli-designated humanitarian zone, ahead of renewed operations there.

Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man, warned that the military would "forcefully operate" against terror groups in the area.

Some 1.9 million Paleostinians of the 2.3 million Gazook population are currently in the humanitarian zone, located in the al-Mawasi area on the Strip’s coast, western neighborhoods of Khan Younis, and central Gaza’s Deir al-Balah.

The new offensive was aimed at preventing terror groups in the Gaza Strip from regrouping, the IDF said in a statement.

Suspected Israeli strike targets Syria's Homs
[Rudaw] A suspected Israeli strike on Thursday night targeted Syria's central Homs province, injuring at least four Syrian army soldiers, state media reported.

At around 8:55 this evening, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of northern Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
, targeting a number of military positions in the central region,
Syrian state media (SANA) reported citing military sources.

The strike resulted in the injury of four soldiers and some material damage, according to SANA.

UK-based war monitor Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the strike targeted a missile depot at a military base about five kilometers from Shayrat airbase in Homs.

Seven fighters, including three members of the pro-Iran militia groups, were injured in the strike, according to SOHR.
