US federal probe finds Drexel University has become a hostile environment for Jews
[IsraelTimes] Investigation says that while school dealt with individual complaints of antisemitism, it did not address whether there was a broader environment of anti-Jewish sentiment on campus

Drexel University will review the antisemitism discrimination complaints it has fielded in recent years and work to improve how it handles them under an agreement with the US Department of Education announced Friday.

The federal investigation began with a complaint about an October dormitory fire on the door of a suite where a Jewish student lived, but no sufficient evidence has surfaced indicating it was motivated by antisemitism or a hate crime, officials said.

The probe did turn up what the agency considered shortcomings in how Drexel has responded to a string of 35 other allegations of harassment of Jewish [students] that were reported to the school over a 16-month period ending in January. Federal officials concluded a hostile environment has been in place at Drexel for about a year and a half, including anti-Jewish graffiti, social media threats and the vandalism of Drexel’s Center for Jewish Life in April.

The investigation is among more than 150 similar probes launched by the US Department of Education regarding campus and K-12 incidents in the wake of the October 7 attack on Israel that began the ongoing Israel-Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
war.

"The university’s actions were limited to addressing each incident on an individual basis, including offering supportive resources to students, but did not consider whether broader and more responsive action was needed," according to a news release issued by the Education Department on Friday.

In response, the school has agreed to review complaints and reports of such incidents during the past two academic years, share the information with the federal agency and take action if needed. It also will conduct training and revise policies that guide how incidents of reported discrimination are investigated and addressed.

Off-campus and social media conduct will be part of the school’s future assessments about whether shared ancestry discrimination and harassment incidents have made programs and activities a hostile environment.

Drexel issued a statement Friday saying the resolution shows it is committed "to take whatever steps are necessary to ensure a welcoming and inclusive campus environment in which all our students, faculty, and professional staff feel safe, respected, and supported. By acting to prevent and respond more effectively to antisemitism and any conduct that threatens the sense of belonging we strive to maintain, Drexel will continue to grow more inclusive."

In the months after the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel that killed some 1,200 people and saw another 251 taken hostage, Drexel began workshops and training. Those efforts included a series of meetings in residence halls where students were told the importance of maintaining a respectful environment and informed about resources that were available and how to report concerns, according to a letter sent Friday by the Office of Civil Rights to Drexel President John Anderson Fry.

Fry announced in December that the investigation was taking place, saying in a public message that "the tragedy in Israel and Gazoo

The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. has brought about so much anguish and trauma throughout our community" and telling the university community that the school was "’fully committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment."

Afghanistan
Foggy Bottom Follies-Clueless or Conniving?-Taliban Gets $239 Mil in U.S. Afghanistan Aid after State Dept. Fails to Vet Awardees
I vote for conniving.
[JudicialWatch] Less than a year after Judicial Watch reported that the Taliban has established fake nonprofits to steal millions of dollars in U.S. aid to Afghanistan, a new investigation reveals that the terrorist group has also received hundreds of millions in development assistance from Uncle Sam because the State Department fails to properly vet award recipients. At least $239 million have likely filled the coffers of the extremists running the Islamic republic since the 2021 U.S. military withdraw, according to a report published this month by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR). The money was disbursed by State Department divisions known as Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) to implement development projects intended to help achieve American foreign policy and national security goals in Afghanistan.

Besides establishing fraudulent non-governmental organizations (NGO) to loot big chunks of the $3 billion in humanitarian aid that the U.S. has given Afghanistan since the Biden administration’s abrupt military withdraw, the Taliban has raked in millions more by charging taxes, permit fees and import duties. That money has flowed through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), a famously corrupt State Department arm that got $63.1 billion for foreign assistance and diplomatic engagement this year, and the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), the government’s international broadcasting services that aims to inform, engage, and connect people around the world in support of freedom and democracy. The United Nations has also received $1.6 billion in U.S. funding for Afghanistan and a large percentage of that money most likely went to the Taliban as well, according to a federal audit, because the U.S. government does not require the leftist world body to report on taxes, fees or duties incurred on American funds for activities in Afghanistan.

US Government Says There is 'Increased Risk' US Funded Terrorists
[Breitbart] … ‘May Have Illegally’ Received ‘at Least $293 Million’ in U.S. Funding.

The United States government revealed there was “an increased risk” Afghanistan terrorists or “terrorist-affiliated individuals” accidentally received $293 million in funding from the Department of State, a report details.

A report from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) revealed that two bureaus within the Department of State, the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) had not provided sufficient documentation to show if “their Afghanistan programs complied with State’s vetting guidance.”

DRL was missing “partner vetting documentation” for four of its awards, while INL was missing partner vetting documentation for 19 of its awards, according to the report. Due to this, the State Department was unable to “demonstrate compliance with its partner vetting requirements on awards that disbursed at least $293 million in Afghanistan.”

“According to State guidance, all bureaus are required to perform basic procedures and follow best practices during the pre-award phase, and to perform a risk assessment for each program,” according to the SIGAR report. “SIGAR requested and tested each bureau’s award listing documentation for Afghanistan programs.”
Who signed off for that and needs to be fired? Lets name some names.
Other bureaus such as the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA), the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), and the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Office of Press and Public Diplomacy (SCA/PPD) had provided sufficient documentation “showing they complied with” the State Department’s “vetting policies,” according to the report.

“According to State guidance, all bureaus are required to perform basic procedures and follow best practices during the pre-award phase, and to perform a risk assessment for each program,” the report explained.

The PRM, PM/WRA, and SCA/PPD were reported to have “completed bureau-prepared risk assessments for all of their awards in the audit’s scope,” along with Risk Analysis Management (RAM) “vetting documentation for eligible awards.”

DRL and INL, on the other hand, were reportedly unable to “demonstrate that they complied with” the State Department’s “partner vetting requirements for many of their programs in Afghanistan”:

DRL and INL could not demonstrate that they complied with State’s partner vetting requirements for many of their programs in Afghanistan. Specifically, DRL could only provide supporting vetting documentation for three of its seven awards, while the partner vetting documentation for four of its awards were missing from its contracting files. As a result, SIGAR could not determine whether DRL complied with State’s partner vetting requirements for four of its awards. Similarly, INL could only provide SIGAR with supporting vetting documentation for 3 of its 22 awards because supporting documentation for 19 of its awards was missing from its contracting files. Based on this response, SIGAR determined that INL did not comply with federal document retention requirements.

“In total, State could not demonstrate compliance with its partner vetting requirements on awards that disbursed at least $293 million in Afghanistan,” the report added. “State officials acknowledged that not all bureaus complied with document retention requirements. State officials told us that INL did not retain documentation because of employee turnover and the dissolution of its Afghanistan-Pakistan office.”

The report continued to praise PM/WRA, PRM, and SCA/PPD for helping to “prevent the diversion of U.S. taxpayer funds to the Taliban and its affiliates,” while admitting that because DRL and INL had not provided sufficient documentation showing “their compliance” with the Department of State’s vetting requirements, there was “an increased risk that terrorist and terrorist-affiliated individuals and entities may have illegally benefited from State spending in Afghanistan.”

“As State continues to spend U.S. taxpayer funds on programs intended to benefit the Afghan people, it is critical that State knows who is actually benefitting from this assistance in order to prevent the aid from being diverted to the Taliban or other sanctioned parties, and to enable policymakers and other oversight authorities to better scrutinize the risks posed by State’s spending,” the report added.

In response to the report, Mara Macie, who is seeking to unseat incumbent Rep. John Rutherford (R-FL), Macie questioned why he did not “stop our tax dollars from flowing to the Taliban,” pointing out that he sits on the House Appropriations Committee.

“This shocking new Inspector General report shows hundreds of millions of US tax dollars went to the Taliban even after the horrific Biden/Kamala Afghanistan withdrawal, that killed 13 of our servicemembers,” Macie wrote in a post on X. “Hey @RepRutherfordFL, since you sit on the Appropriations Committee, why didn’t you stop our tax dollars from flowing to the Taliban? Isn’t that part of your job?”

Senegalese Foreign Ministry summons Ukrainian ambassador who supported terrorists in Mali
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Ukrainian Ambassador to Senegal Yuriy Pivovarov was summoned to the country's Foreign Ministry due to the publication of a video on the embassy's account supporting terrorists in Mali, the Senegalese department reported on August 3.

The Foreign Ministry was surprised by the publication of the video and the comments of the Ukrainian ambassador, who supported the terrorists, whose attack led to significant casualties among the civilian population, the statement said.

Senegal is a supporter of diplomatic settlement of disputes, adheres to a position of constructive neutrality in the issue of the conflict in Ukraine and cannot allow such propaganda, the Foreign Ministry stated.

"Our country rejects terrorism in any form and cannot accept statements and actions that justify terrorism, especially when such actions are aimed at destabilizing a brotherly country like Mali," the statement said.

The Ukrainian ambassador was reminded of his duties and the "seriousness of his mission," the Senegalese Foreign Ministry also noted. In the same statement, the ministry once again condemned the terrorist attack in Mali and expressed solidarity with the authorities and people of that country.

As reported by Regnum news agency, fierce battles between the army and terrorists continue in Mali. From July 22 to 27, servicemen of the Malian Armed Forces and fighters of the 13th assault detachment of the Wagner PMC fought fierce battles with militants from the Coordination Movement of Azawad (CMA) and the al-Qaeda in the Sahel group (JNIM, a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) in the vicinity of the settlement of Tin-Zoutin.
They fought together against the Russian mercenaries? I’m shocked.
Government troops and Wagner suffered heavy losses, the PMC reported.

Malian combat aircraft carried out retaliatory strikes on the location of a Tuareg group and foreign mercenaries in Tinhavatin. At least 40 militants were eliminated, up to 70 were wounded. On July 28, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Mali reported that the army was carrying out massive strikes on terrorist and smuggler concentration sites.

Terrorists from the CSP-DPA alliance of armed separatist groups in Mali were trained in Ukraine, the French newspaper Le Monde reported on August 2. A representative of the alliance told journalists that the militants also have ties to France and the United States.

She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums...>
's government weathered a worsening backlash over a deadly police crackdown on protesters.

Rallies against civil service job quotas sparked days of mayhem last month that killed more than 200 people in some of the worst unrest of Hasina's 15-year tenure.

Troop deployments briefly restored order but crowds hit the streets in huge numbers after Friday prayers in the Moslem-majority nation, heeding a call by student leaders to press the government for more concessions.

Students Against Discrimination, the group responsible for organising the initial protests, urged their compatriots to launch an all-out non-cooperation movement from Sunday.

"This includes non-payment of taxes and utility bills, strikes by government workers and a halt to overseas remittance payments through banks," the group's Asif Mahmud told AFP.

Cyber
[TX] Attorney General Ken Paxton Reaches $1.4 Billion Settlement with Mark Zuckerberg's Meta
[Breitbart] Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) announced he has won a $1.4 billion settlement from Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta over privacy-related concerns involving Facebook capturing Texan users’ facial and biometric data without their knowledge or consent.

“We have secured a $1.4 billion settlement with Meta to stop the company’s practice of capturing and using the personal biometric data of millions of Texans without the authorization required by law,” Paxton said in a Tuesday X/Twitter post.

“This settlement is the largest ever obtained from an action brought by a single State and the largest privacy settlement an Attorney General has ever obtained,” Paxton added. “This serves as a warning to any companies engaged in practices that violate Texans’ privacy rights.”

In his post, the attorney general shared a press release further elaborating on the settlement and the case.

In February 2022, Paxton “sued Meta for unlawfully capturing the biometric data of millions of Texans without obtaining their informed consent as required by Texas law,” the press release explains.

“Specifically, Meta’s data collection violated Texas’ ‘Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier’ Act (CUBI) and the Deceptive Trade Practices Act,” Paxton said.

For more than a decade, Meta had been collecting “capturing records of the facial geometry” of users via its new “Tag Suggestions’ feature, which the tech giant rolled out in 2011,” the press release stated.

Meta claimed Tag Suggestions “would improve the user experience by making it easier for users to ‘tag’ photographs with the names of people in the photo,” but the company “automatically turned this feature on for all Texans without explaining how the feature worked,” the statement continued.

“Unbeknownst to most Texans, for more than a decade Meta ran facial recognition software on virtually every face contained in the photographs uploaded to Facebook, capturing records of the facial geometry of the people depicted,” Paxton added in his press release.

“Meta did this despite knowing that CUBI forbids companies from capturing biometric identifiers of Texans, including records of face geometry, unless the business first informs the person and receives their consent to capture the biometric identifier,” Paxton said.

The $1.4 billion settlement, which Paxton noted is the largest ever obtained by a single state against a company, will be paid out over the course of five years.

“This historic settlement demonstrates our commitment to standing up to the world’s biggest technology companies and holding them accountable for breaking the law and violating Texans’ privacy rights,” Paxton said. “Any abuse of Texans’ sensitive data will be met with the full force of the law.”

Fifth Column
Hillary Clinton-run group helps fund Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion
[Yahoo] Just Stop Oil’s stunts are partly funded by a campaign organization run by Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away. Politix is not one of her talents, but it's something she keeps trying to do...
, US financial disclosures reveal.

A group founded by Mrs Clinton from the ashes of her failed presidential bid has donated $500,000 (£391,500) in the last three years to the protest group’s Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,-based financiers. Just Stop Oil’s largest financial backer is a controversial Californian non-profit, the Climate Emergency Fund (CEF), which pays for stunts by environmental groups across the world, including Extinction Rebellion.

A paper trail of transparency disclosures, seen by The Telegraph, shows that one of the CEF’s major supporters is Onward Together, a campaign organization founded by Mrs Clinton in the aftermath of her 2016 presidential campaign against Donald Trump
...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down...
Onward Together gave $300,000 to the CEF in 2021, and a further $200,000 in 2022. The money donated by her group was placed into a fund that was used to pay for Just Stop Oil’s protests in the UK.

The donations are the largest contribution by Mrs Clinton’s organization to a non-profit in the last three years, and are funded by public contributions and the sale of merchandise from her online shop.

However,
denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
although the Onward Together website lists a number of "partners" supported by her group, it makes no reference to the CEF or Just Stop Oil, who are the ultimate recipients of some of the money it has donated.

A separate arm of Onward Together contributes to specific candidates in US elections.

Organisations like Just Stop Oil are not required to disclose their funding in the UK, but the group has said it has received millions of pounds from the CEF, its largest supporter.

The group has previously been criticised for accepting money from foreign donors to fund its stunts, which have recently included the vandalism of Stonehenge and paint sprayed at Heathrow airport.

Some MPs have called for the group to be designated as a terror organization. The total cost of policing Just Stop Oil by the Metropolitan Police alone was almost £20 million by the end of last year, and is now likely to be much higher.

The CEF was established in 2019 by Aileen Getty, the granddaughter of the oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, and campaigns for governments to adopt climate-friendly policies.

It is backed by several Hollywood celebrities, including Jeremy Strong, the Succession star, who sits on its board. Other major donors, other than Mrs Clinton, include a fund run by Susie Tompkins Buell, the co-founder of the North Face clothing brand.

No counter sniper team at previous Trump rallies in 2024
[TheExpress] Secret Service says Trump Butler rally was first time counter-sniper team assigned

Former President Donald Trump was struck in the ear by a bullet or a bullet fragment shortly after he began speaking at the rally last month.

Acting US Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe has admitted that his agency "failed" to adequately protect former president Donald Trump when a gunman opened fire at a Pennsylvania rally last month.

“This was a Secret Service failure,” Rowe said at a press conference on Friday.

“That roof line should have been covered. We should have had better eyes on that.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was shot dead by Secret Service agents moments after opening fire at the rally in Butler last month.

Rowe revealed that the Butler rally was the first time that a Secret Service counter-sniper team was assigned to a Trump campaign event this year.

“Looking back it was very fortunate that we did,” Rowe said.

“The former president will have counter-sniper coverage moving forward as will the president, the vice president, Senator Vance.”

The former president has previously had counter-snipers from state and local authorities present at his events, Rowe said.

Home Front: WoT
Holder: KSM would be just a memory if my 2009 decision had been followed
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Former Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday slammed the “political hacks” who blocked the trial of accused Sept. 11 terrorists in federal court nearly 15 years ago, saying those politicians owed an apology to the families of the victims of the attack for delaying justice against Guantanamo Bay detainees who Holder said would be “nothing more than a memory” had they been tried and convicted in the United States.

After years of proceedings in an largely untested military commissions system in Guantanamo Bay that has been described as “Kafkaesque” and has been mired by seemingly endless delays, the Pentagon announced Wednesday that accused Sept. 11 “mastermind” Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and two of his co-defendants, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin ‘Attash and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al-Hawsawi, had reached a plea deal that will spare them from the death penalty.

Back in 2009, then-Attorney General Holder announced that Mohammed and four others would face trial in a federal court in Manhattan and promised to seek the death penalty in the case. But his plan quickly drew stiff political opposition from Republicans and many Democrats in Congress, who blocked the transfer of any detainees held at the military detention facility built on leased land in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, from being transferred to America to face justice. Eleven years ago, in 2013, Holder said that Mohammed and his associates would have been “on death row as we speak” had the case gone to federal court as he proposed. Now, more than 20 years after Mohammed, also known as KSM, was captured in Pakistan and subsequently tortured by the CIA, Holder said military prosecutors got the best deal they could under the circumstances. But he blamed Congress for blocking a federal trial that would have resulted in swifter justice.

“The people responsible for structuring this awful deal did the best they could. They were dealt a bad hand by the political hacks and those who lost faith in our justice system,” Holder said in a statement to NBC News on Thursday.

“If my decision to try KSM and his confederates in the tested and effective federal court system had been followed they would be nothing more than a memory today,” Holder said. “Those who opposed my determination should apologize to those who lost loved ones on one of America’s darkest days. I hope the media will ask them if they will now admit the cravenness of their actions.”

I read "...Back in 2009, then-Attorney General Holder announced that Mohammed and four others would face trial in a federal court in Manhattan and promised to seek the death penalty in the case. But his plan quickly drew stiff political opposition ..."

Some additional Facts & Political Clarity:
In 2009 "Barack Hussein Obama" would be in power for 8 years and surrounded himself with Liberals Judges and SCOTUS justices.

Plus The 111th United States Congress:
* Senate majority was Democratic.
* House majority was Democratic
* Senate President was Joe Biden (D)
* The House Speaker was Nancy Pelosi (D)

Now, given who was running the DC show in 2009+.
How many think the death penalty would have been used ?

Israeli banks, Jewish Agency to provide financial assistance to self-employed IDF reservists
[Ynet] The initiative, with a financial scope of 100 million shekels, will provide grants of thousands of shekels each to reservists whose businesses were affected by the war, and the amount will depend on the number of reserve days served and the size of the business.
The Jewish community taking care of its own, as it’s done for two-plus millennia I note that nothing is said about reserving the benefit to Jewish reservists — because Israel defines apartheid differently than the rest of the world, donchaknow.
The fund, with a financial scope of approximately 100 million shekels, is designed to aid self-employed reservists whose businesses suffered due to the conflict. Grants will range from 7,000 shekels to 50,000 shekels per business, depending on the number of reserve days served and the size of the business. Additionally, recipients will receive free professional business consultations.
Eligible for this aid are reservists from across Israel who served at least 60 days during the war and own a business (whether as a sole proprietor, licensed dealer or limited company) with annual revenues of up to 10 million shekels. These businesses must have experienced at least a 20% decline in revenue during the war period.

IDF releases file seized in Gaza to show Al Jazeera reporter was Hamas member
Follow up to this story from two days ago.
[IsraelTimes] 2021 terror group roster shows Ismail al-Ghoul was an engineer in Hamas’s Gaza City Brigade, army says

The IDF on Saturday published a 2021 Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
document obtained during its operations in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip that it says proves that Al Jazeera news hound Ismail al-Ghoul was a member of the terror group.

Al-Ghoul was killed in an IDF dronezap in Gaza City on Wednesday, alongside Al Jazeera cameraman Ramy El-Rify.

The IDF said that al-Ghoul participated in the October 7 attack on Israel as a member of the terror group’s elite Nukhba force, and was later involved in instructing terror operatives on how to film and distribute videos of attacks on Israeli troops.

The document, which the IDF says was obtained from Hamas computers seized in the Strip, included the details of thousands of operatives in the terror group’s military wing.

According to the document, from 2021, al-Ghoul was an engineer in Hamas’s Gaza City Brigade, the IDF says.

Al Jazeera has denied Israel’s assertion that al-Ghoul was a Hamas operative.

"Despite the false attempts by Hamas and Al Jazeera to present al-Ghoul as a journalist, al-Ghoul was an active terrorist in the Hamas terror organization," the military said.

In a statement on Wednesday, Hamas condemned the killings as a "heinous crime" which it said was "aimed at terrorizing and silencing" Paleostinian journalists as they reported "the ongoing genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip for nearly 10 months."

Al Jazeera, which broadcasts in English and Arabic, has been the focus of months of criticism from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government.

In early May, the government banned Al Jazeera in Israel, shuttering and raiding its offices, alleging it was actively harming national security. Last month, the Tel Aviv District Court extended the ban on the network.

In January, Israel said an Al Jazeera staff journalist and a freelancer killed in an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in Gaza were terror operatives.

The following month, it accused another journalist with the channel, who was maimed in a separate strike, of being a deputy company commander with Hamas.

Al Jazeera has fiercely denied
No, no! Certainly not!
Israel’s allegations and accused it of systematically targeting Al Jazeera employees in the Gaza Strip.

Thousands of gunnies broke through the border fence from Gaza on October 7, rampaging through Israel’s southern towns and murdering some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, while carrying out other atrocities like mutilation and sexual abuse.

They also took 251 hostages, 111 of whom are believed to still be held captive in Gaza, including the bodies of 39 confirmed dead by the IDF.

The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? But a strike claimed by Israel in an overcrowded residential area of South Beirut changed the calculus, Iran's mission to the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
said.

"We expect... Hezbollah to choose more targets and (strike) deeper in its response," said the mission quoted by the official IRNA news agency.

"Secondly, that it will not limit its response to military targets."

The strike on Tuesday killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukur. According to Lebanon's health ministry, five civilians -- three women and two children -- also died.

Israel said Shukur was responsible for rocket fire that killed 12 youths in the annexed Golan Heights, and had directed Hezbollah's attacks on Israel since the Gaza war began.

"Hezbollah and the (Israeli) regime had observed certain lines," including limiting strikes to border areas and military targets, Iran's mission said.

The Beirut strike crossed that line, it added.

Hours after Shukur's killing, the political leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh

Israel has declined to comment.

On Thursday, Hezbollah chief Sayyed

His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...>
said Israel and "those who are behind it must await our inevitable response" to the killings of both Shukur and Haniyeh.

Iran and Hamas have also vowed to retaliate.

Air France, Transavia halt Beirut flights until Tuesday
[An Nahar] Flights to Beirut by Air La Belle France and low-cost carrier Transavia La Belle France will remain suspended until at least Tuesday due to "security" concerns in the region, parent company Air La Belle France-KLM said on Saturday.

The two French airlines first stopped servicing the route on Monday, a day after Israel vowed to retaliate after accusing Hezbollah of being behind rocket fire that killed 12 people in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.

"Any resumption of operation will be subject to a renewed evaluation on the ground," a front man said, adding that passengers with reservations could rebook at no extra cost.

Flights to Tel Aviv will continue as normal, the front man told AFP.

Dozens of security officials detained in Iran, media reports
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Expanding on this report from yesterday.
[Regnum] Dozens of people have been detained by Iranian authorities during the investigation into the murder of Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh. This was reported by the American newspaper The New York Times, citing sources.

Iran has detained more than two dozen people, including senior intelligence officers, military officials and staff at a military guesthouse in Tehran, according to people familiar with the investigation.

The newspaper added that the furious reaction to Haniyeh's killing underscores how devastating a security failure the incident has been for Iran's leadership, as the killing took place at a heavily guarded facility in the country's capital, hours after the inauguration ceremony of Iran's new president, Masoud Pezeshkian.
As reported by Regnum news agency, Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed on the night of July 31 as a result of a missile strike on his house in Tehran.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered the military to launch a direct strike on Israel in retaliation for the assassination of the head of the Politburo. As the media noted, attempts by various countries to stop Iran from retaliating against Israel are pointless, since the attack will be swift and brutal.

According to the Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mikhail Bogdanov, the death of Haniyeh is a political assassination, and what happened will have a very negative impact on the progress of the Middle East peace talks that are taking place in Doha.
Not that anything is going to come from the talks in Doha, but it does hurt the feelings of the hosts when they are so obviously not taken seriously by any of the parties involved.
