[Fox] Illegal immigrant families received nearly $1.3 billion in Los Angeles County welfare money during 2015 and 2016, nearly one-quarter of the amount spent on the county’s entire needy population, according to data obtained by Fox News.
The data was obtained from the county Department of Public Social Services -- which is responsible for doling out the benefits -- and gives a snapshot of the financial costs associated with sanctuary and related policies.
The sanctuary county of Los Angeles is an illegal immigration epicenter, with the largest concentration of any county in the nation, according to a study from the Migration Policy Institute. The county also allows illegal immigrant parents with children born in the United States to seek welfare and food stamp benefits.

"Sanctuary" for taxpayer boosted profits in stores and rents!
Subsidizing migrants is just a way of stealthily funding the establishment welfare state.
[FREEBEACON] Congress is advancing an investigation into a growing scandal surrounding IT staffers working for Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz ...Congresswoman from Florida, the abrasive chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. She has been a politician since 1992, and prior to that was in training as a political science major. Her primary accomplishment seems to be that she's Jewish... (D., Fla.), who are accused of stealing sensitive computer equipment from House politicians' offices, according to senior congressional sources who told the Washington Free Beacon the Democratic leader's refusal to answer questions could "merit resignation."
Congressional leaders have now requested a formal briefing by Capitol Police into its investigation of several Pak House IT staffers who are accused of stealing sensitive computer equipment and of illegally penetrating congressional networks.
Imran Awan, one of the staffers who worked for Wasserman Schultz and several other Democratic members of Congress, was placed in durance vile Book 'im, Mahmoud! this week when trying to travel to Pakistain and charged with bank fraud after a months-long investigation that found he wired nearly $300,000 to that country. Several other staffers tied to Awan are the focus of an investigation into claims they stole sensitive equipment and illegally penetrated the House IT network.
Leading members of Congress are growing frustrated with the pace of the criminal investigation and have moved to conduct their own independent probe into the scandal, according to multiple sources who indicated that the relevant congressional committees are making moves to start an investigation, which could include compelling testimony from Wasserman Schultz, who has been accused of stonewalling on the issue.
As more information about the nature and scope of the IT staffers' collection of privileged congressional information becomes public, politicians are seeking to immediately begin their own investigation into the situation.
Rep. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.), a member of the House Oversight Committee and chair of its National Security Subcommittee, formally requested a briefing from the Capitol Police on Tuesday, telling the Free Beacon that the situation amounts to "one of the all-time congressional scandals in the last 30 years."

Is Debbie Wasserman's brother still handling the prosecution of the Awans?
[Nat Review] Wow. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is basically accusing the FBI of anti-Muslim bias in their arrest of her former IT staffer, Imran Awan. Several members of Awan’s family were accused of "stealing equipment from members’ offices without their knowledge and committing serious, potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network" and the FBI arrested him.
His arrest, the congresswoman said, had nothing to do with the months-long investigation of Awan as an IT worker for a variety of members of Congress. An FBI affidavit filed with the criminal complaint said Awan and his wife claimed a property used to secure a home equity line of credit was a "principal residence," when it was, in fact, a rental property.
Wasserman Schultz said there still hasn’t been any evidence presented that he’s done anything wrong involving his work for Congress. And, she said, she believes he may have been put under scrutiny because of his religious faith. Awan is Muslim. "I had grave concerns about his due process rights being violated," she said. "When their investigation was reviewed with me, I was presented with no evidence of anything that they were being investigated for.
And so that, in me, gave me great concern that his due process rights were being violated. That there were racial and ethnic profiling concerns that I had," she said. Elsewhere in that interview, Wasserman Schultz says she doesn’t think Awan was fleeing the country. The affidavit from the FBI said that Awan’s wife, Hina Alvi, left the country abruptly, with a great deal of cash in March.

It took her long enough to come up with that 'defense' that it renders it automatically suspicious, like she had to think about it good & hard. Usually it's a reflex for Democrats to use the race card - don't leave home without it!

Anti-muslim bias, huh?
"The affidavit from the FBI said that Awan’s wife, Hina Alvi, left the country abruptly, with a great deal of cash"
To precise, $12G. In cash. With no transfer paperwork. They counted the money. Then they let her go to Pak.

The laptop she loudly claimed as hers, she now says is Awan's.
Throwing Awan under the bus for whatever it contains.

Under state election law, convicted felons can vote and run for office as long as they are not incarcerated or guilty of certain fraud-related offenses, or crimes involving a breach of the public trust.
Damn, that is a low standard. I guess they had to lower the bar so they would have anyone running in Detroit. Please don't tell me all these candidates are Democrats.

(they) have been convicted of felony crimes involving drugs, assault or weapons, a Detroit News analysis shows. Three were charged with gun crimes and two for assault with intent to commit murder. Some of the offenses date back decades, the earliest to 1977. The most recent was in 2008

[APNEWS] West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice is switching parties to join Republicans as President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... plans a visit to the increasingly conservative state.
Justice’s plans were confirmed to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named on Thursday by a Democratic Party official with knowledge of his plans. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the decision before the announcement.
The governor is expected to publicly announce his decision Thursday evening at a campaign rally with the president.
Justice was elected in November with just 49 percent of the vote, 20 percentage points behind Trump’s total in the presidential contest in the state. Trump won 77 percent of West Virginia’s Republican primary voters in May.

It was the Russians who caused Justice to win by just 49%; 20 points behind Trump. And it was the Russians who caused Trump to win W.Va. with 77% (sarc). In fact, it was the Russians who caused me to not sleep well last night. The bastid Russians also caused a huge dead waterlogged branch to fall from one of my trees and wipe out a shutter on the front of my house. I'm looking for an FBI investigation at any time (sarc). The Democrats are still in denial that their crappy, unbelievably crooked/corrupt, inevitable little empress did not win.
