Mayor Bloomberg is pushing hospitals to hide their baby formula behind locked doors so more new mothers will breast-feed.
Starting Sept. 3, the city will keep tabs on the number of bottles that participating hospitals stock and use -- the most restrictive pro-breast-milk program in the nation.
Under the city Health Department's voluntary Latch On NYC initiative, 27 of the city's 40 hospitals have also agreed to give up swag bags sporting formula-company logos, toss out formula-branded tchotchkes like lanyards and mugs, and document a medical reason for every bottle that a newborn receives.

Education is the key, not hiding bottles.
No, don't ask, the so-called 'milk stopper pills' are no longer available, they cause cancer, strokes, seizures, etc. Your colostrum is good for baby, keeps it strong. You want a weak baby, a sickly baby? Of course not. You want the pain to go away, avoid mastitis, save some bucks....... go au naturale.

I can name five kids would be dead or seriously underweight without supplemental bottles. Don't give me this crap about medical reasons, the second a nurse has to fill out three papers worth per bottle, well, there are plently of people out there who quite simply only show up to work.
You suck New York. Give me all your yellow brick road and smallville crap you got, we ain't got this. Quit waiting for the Jeter/Madonna sex tape and get it together.

So Nanny Bloomberg is in favor of abortion rights because women should have the right to decide issues involving their bodies? Seems like an inconsistency here. I guess if you are an idiot you get a pass.

I had to go back to work three weeks after Eldest Son was born. The family budget wouldn't allow me to take a longer leave. I went through all the nuisance of pumping breast milk, and I still needed to bottle feed.

LOL on CF's comment. Bloomberg seems to be an expert on all matters big and small. Leave the mothers alone. It might have been appropriate for the mothers to have a conversation with their doctors sometime prior to giving birth about breast feeding vs. bottle feeding but to have a lecture before getting formula each time is way over the top. Some mothers can't breast feed.
advice to Bloomberg; leave the mothers alone and quit being a nuisance and a nag. He must be such an annoyance to New Yorkers if he is such an annoyance to people outside of NYC. Has Bloomberg ever been a father? Does he have any appreciation for mothers and what they are dealing with. Some have serious postpartum depression; they don't need more $hit.

Not at all - the press has its thumb on the scales, as usual, and Obama has been splurging on anti-Romney ads, which is why he has less cash on hand than Romney, despite having raised over $100m more.

Its a sales pitch; they are showing the signs of being in the doo-doo but this is about building the underdog case as well as attempting to get their people motivated.
I also get the feeling that, after the olympic theme, solidified after the NHS gave all those kids nightmares, that Romney was going to get a shot even if he said Britains are the nicest hosts it would have been sold as a diss on the rest of Europe. I'd expect the same from the Israel trip, except in order to show the counter the MSM would have to portray the protesting Israelis in a good light; can't have that.

watching CBS news (Mom's choice) from Reno - getting at least 6 Obama ads every half hour. Smell the desperation and funds burn rate?

The olympics channel has its daytime TV b-list celebrities out doing soft campaign commercials, the preen forward line. They are horrible, no not the message or the talking heads, the message is quick and muddled leaving the viewer with a what was that about again? , the production is horrible, bad camera angles and overlit/overexposed.
I have to hand it to them, to make Teddy look darker and have fuller lips than tingles is quite a deal. And Pat delivers something akin to a drunk with a mouth full of popcorn.
And whats with the newsflash background music? Sounds like something Trent Reznor put together at age 7, one handed.
These are on all-day long I would guess at airports and waiting rooms. Somebody has to pay for that production time and loss of commercial revenue, especially when people change the channel and catch the highlights.

You know what's kind of amazing?
That we're not getting blown away in the face of unprecedented, unlimited spending from super PACs, Mitt Romney, and all the other shadowy groups trashing Barack Obama nonstop.
Yes. The drones do outnumber the worker bees and it's getting worse--by design.
Shadowy groups? What about far leftist George Soros? What about the MSM hammering away daily with their invented stories, propaganda, and lies? What about the labor unions? Property rights were taken away from the owners of GM and Chrysler and given to the labor unions as a Chicago Way payoff for their votes. What we got here is a gangster government! I can't believe the election is even close.

I know the real world it tough, indoor swimming arenas can be warm, humid, smell of chlorine, its a strange environment.
Perhaps the producers realized that too late when on their nice close-up of the first lady clapping for the entrance of the lady swimmers caught her snorting back some drainage. It happens, spent many hours in those places.
I do not mean to embarass the first lady, she has been doing that quite well herself, I am pointing out how staged it was, and the quality of the return on investment.
