Just when I thought it could not become more bizarre. Rahm has to do something to distract the public over the fact that some weekends the south side of Chicago is more dangerous than Baghdad...

This is not the first time the 'fruit of islam' has done this kind of stuff.
Typically, they get some modest results the first week or so, then crime moves and there isn't enough fruitofislam power to expand and the fruit then kind of melts away.
But somehow the newspapers report of the fruitof islam melting away is on page 30 of the neighborhood section and the next mayor falls for the fruitof islam scam again.

the phrase 'fruit of islam' is a creation of the NOI founder Wallace Fard Muhammad (the 1930s).
WFM believed, or at allowed his followers to believe, himself to be a manifestation of Allah and so, some people think the 'fruit' is a reference to the fruit in the garden of eden
others say that since WFM was completely bonkers, who knows what he was thinking at the time

Yeah, I'm sure the gang-bangers currently slaughtering each other in large numbers will be very impressed. All those bow-ties!

"Emanuel outsources Chicago crime problem to Farrakhan's "Fruit of Islam" soldiers"
I would think it would be cheaper to just outsource to China. Can't they just call up a Hong Kong triad and get a cut rate bargain on corruption, bribery and extortion? Why deal with amateurs ... when you can go with the pro's??

What are these gangstas fighting about? Nobody wants to speculate? Could it be there has been an influx of illegal narcotics into Chicago on account of Rahm's buddy Barack refuses his duty to control the border? Just askin'.

His murder rate is soaring. He has a gang problem. He's got a problem with public unions. He has money problems. He has a culture of corruption. And Rahm Emanuel is concerned with Chick-Fil-A? Gimme a break.

JQC, Rahmie-poo is demonstrating one of the typical responses of the Peter Principle.
When one has been elevated above their level of competence they revert to dealing with only those things that they feel in control of. He is too incompetent to deal with real problems so he grasps at the trivial PC issue first to hand.

So they reject somebody who is against gay marriage, and welcome this fruitcake who is anti-Jew, anti gay marriage, and even anti mixed race marriage. I guess that makes perfect sense somewhere.
#21
This goes way beyond the scope of the Peter Principle. Rather than deal with the problems, Rahm goes for appearances while Chicago goes broke like other dem managed cities and states. They are running out of bullsh*t to fool people with.

Chicago's running a surplus of cocaine since Obama left town.

Beijing: The wife of disgraced Chinese political leader Bo Xilai and an orderly working in the couples home have been prosecuted for murder, state news agency Xinhua reported yesterday.
Gu Kailai, a former international lawyer whose husband was one of Chinas most promising political leaders until his downfall earlier this year, was recently prosecuted by a Chinese court, Xinhua said in a brief dispatch. Zhang Xiaojun, previously described as an orderly who worked for the high-flying couple, was also prosecuted, it said, citing authorities.
Xinhua said earlier this year that Gu and Zhang were suspected of murdering Neil Heywood, a British businessman who had commercial dealings with Bo and his wife. The scandal, which first came to light in February, sent shockwaves through the highest echelons of power in China and led to Bo being sacked from his post as Communist Party leader of the megacity of Chongqing.
And everyone believes the party line, of course...
Analysts say it has exposed deep divisions within the Communist Party ahead of a crucial, once-in-a-decade leadership transition due to take place this autumn.
Yesterdays announcement came a week after Patrick Devillers, a French architect said to have been close to Gu, traveled to China to assist in the official enquiry into her.

This has 'movie' written all over it, right there in the genre with Shanghi Triad.
[Ma'an] Archbishop Theodosius Atallah Hanna stressed Wednesday the necessity to protect Paleostinian Christians and rejected any efforts to undermine their rights.
During a visit to Ma'an in Bethlehem, he said "they (Paleostinian Christians) must be preserved because their absence is considered a big loss for everyone including Mohammedans."
A big clue -- very, very big.
Commenting on claims of foul play by relatives of two Gazoo Christians who converted to Islam, Hanna said that "Christians are not mercenaries or fifth column, they live in their homeland Paleostine and among their people.
"They should be respected and kept as they are an integral part of the homeland".
Yes, they should. But you are dealing with the local branch of the caliphatist Muslim Brotherhood, and they don't even want y'all as props for the tourists.
He rejected treating people differently according to their religion and stressed the necessity of equality between Mohammedans and Christians. He also emphasized the need to live in a civil state that respects citizens equally.
You need that. The Muslims want to be more equal, and they have the numbers and the firepower to achieve it.
Regarding events in Syria, Hanna said Syrian people's fair demands must be supported and he rejected any exploitation by other countries of these demands.
He added: "We rejected violence, murder and torture since the beginning of the Syrian events. Syria is under a global war that aims at weakening it and an attempt to spread religious strife into it."
He reiterated his opposition to Israeli plans aiming to to "Judaize" Jerusalem and Paleostinian holy places in addition to stealing their land. He called Israel "an illegal country."
He concluded by demanding that Arabs and Mohammedans take responsibility for Jerusalem and
That'll work. Would you like some of these lovely little cream cakes with your tea?
I knew it; I just knew it! The NY Times, of course!
In a study published online by the journal Science, Harvard University scientists reported that some storms send water vapor miles into the stratosphere and showed how such events could rapidly set off ozone-destroying reactions with chemicals that remain in the atmosphere from CFCs, refrigerant gases that are now banned. So we're doomed, anyway.
"It's the union between ozone loss and climate change that is really at the heart of this," said James G. Anderson, an atmospheric scientist and the lead author of the study. Some storms could damage ozone, which - as we all know - is a finite, limited resource, which can never be created, only destroyed.
For years, Dr. Anderson said, he and other atmospheric scientists were careful to keep the two concepts separate. "Now, they're intimately connected," he said. There's just no denying it anymore!
Ozone helps shield people, animals and crops from damaging ultraviolet rays from the sun. A thinning of the ozone layer over the United States during summers could mean an increase in ultraviolet exposure for millions of people and a rise in the incidence of skin cancer, the researchers said. Some storms could damage the ozone, which could lead to more skin cancers. Unless you wear a hat. Or go to a tanning booth.
The findings were based on sound science, Dr. Anderson and other experts said, but much more research is needed, including direct measurements in the stratosphere in areas where water vapor was present after storms. More research? Whoda thunk it?

I miss the good ole days when the Space Shuttle was punching holes in the atmosphere, destroying o-zone and letting the air escape, like a hole in a balloon. It was, as the experts say, truthy.
This is just crap. According to their peers the only way to prevent thunderstorms is by increasing global warming. Perhaps they could ask the president to sit budda style so that the firmament lowers, bringing the caps down to an altitude requiring the singular measurement of mile. And then ban autopredator assault machine guns as the bullets would then punch holes in the rainbow firmament and allow the air to escape into space.

If the science was settled and they were all so certain they'd be screaming for nuclear power left and right. Nuclear has a few risks, but nothing even close to the cataclysmic predictions they keep making.

There is a baby storm northwest of San Antonio TX, 14:00 cst. It caps at 25,000ft or 4.75 miles. Greenville, SC has a boomer at 38,000 with is 7.2 miles. Its where most of your storms live.
There is a giant on I-95 topping at 44,000 which is 8.3 miles. I believe the tallest radar I've seen was 48,000 which is nine miles.
Dr. Anderson and other experts said, but much more research is needed, including direct measurements in the stratosphere in areas where water vapor was present after storms.
Translated: I need much more money and then I will get the result the government (and the left) wants.

Sad. Jim Anderson was my advisor until I switched over to Purcell, and then he remained my official advisor (Purcell was Emeritus, Anderson was left out of the loop). Jim Anderson is/was a good man, but may indeed need the money. We all need money. He is responsible for a fairly large group. He is/was a bright and decent man. I find it hard to believe that he would sell out to 'the man' (in this case anthropogenic global warming conspiracists). But it is not an impossibility. Maybe I just don't want to believe he would do so.
But remember, in all our snark, he IS responsible for the lives and careers of those who work with and for him. There may have been hard, shitty decisions.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
