State Sen. L. Louise Lucas (D-Portsmouth), a campaign surrogate for President Obama in Virginia, said Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is appealing to racists who do not want a black man in the White House.
Asked on a Hampton Roads radio show why the former Massachusetts governor had been able to pull even with President Obama in a recent poll, Lucas said the problem was race.
"Mitt Romney, he's speaking to ... a segment of the population who does not like to see people other than a white man in the White House or in any other elective position," Lucas said Tuesday. "Let's be real clear about it -- Mitt Romney is speaking to a group of people out there who don't like folks like President Barack Obama in any elective or leadership position. We know what's going on here. And some people may be afraid to say it, but I'm not. ... He's speaking to that fringe out there who do not want to see anybody but a white person in a leadership position."
Lucas is a member of Obama's "Truth Team," speaking on the president's behalf on various campaign issues in Virginia. Obama's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. We all know that if Obama loses, they will wage a legal battle to invalidate the vote because it was racist.

President Obama rubbed elbows Monday night with two men at the center of the Solyndra loan scandal at an exclusive fundraiser in California.
Steve Westly, a financier whose money-raising prowess helped to snag him a post on the administrations energy advisory board, and Matt Rogers, a former Energy Department senior adviser who helped to approve the Solyndra loan, were spotted by reporters at the $35,800-per-person fundraiser for the presidents re-election campaign.
Mr. Westly sent warnings to the president not to attend an event at Solyndra's headquarters in the Bay area because of shaky finances at the solar energy company, which had received a fast-tracked $535 million federal loan guarantee in 2010 as part of the administrations economic stimulus program. Mr. Rogers was partly responsible for overseeing stimulus awards at the Energy Department.
They were among about 60 wealthy donors who attended the fundraiser at the swanky home of progressive activist Quinn Delaney and real estate developer Wayne Jordan, a big Obama bundler, in Piedmont, Calif., near Oakland.
Reporters traveling with the president saw Mr. Westly juggling lemons, entertaining kids at the party. He was seated later at one of the tables farthest from the president as he spoke.
Mr. Obama stayed away from any discussion of alternative energy at the fundraiser, except to say that his re-election would ensure that the government promotes smart regulations that are going to deal with issues like climate change.
Republicans, including presidential candidate Mitt Romney, have attacked the administrations support of the Solyndra loan and other stimulus programs as examples of Mr. Obamas crony capitalism. The solar-energy start-up firm later went bankrupt.
The Obama Administration betrayed American taxpayers when it dumped hundreds of millions of public dollars into Solyndra while ignoring clear warnings about the companys dire financial situation, Romney campaign spokesman Ryan Williams said in a statement.
President Obamas first term worked out well for his donors who got special access and taxpayer money for their failed ventures. It hasnt worked as well for the 23 million Americans struggling for work in the worst economic recovery our country has ever had.
On Monday, the White House said it would veto a House bill that would require a significant expansion of offshore oil and gas leasing. The administration said the legislation would undermine the targeted, science-based and regionally-tailored offshore development strategy that the American people and the States have helped develop over the last three years.
Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul said the veto threat was more evidence of the presidents misguided energy policies.
As energy prices have risen and our economy continues to struggle, President Obama insists on hindering efforts to expand domestic production and create American jobs, she said. His self-described hodgepodge energy policy has been an abject failure. Whether blocking job-creating initiatives like the Keystone pipeline or wasting taxpayer money on boondoggles like Solyndra, President Obama doesnt have a clue when it comes to Americas energy future.

Were the Boyz-n-Girlz from Nevada's failed AMONIX SOLAR PLANT also invited???
> 700 Under/Poorly-Trained Employees made Solar Panels for a SINGLE? Utility Customer in California.
> Major Quality-Control issues.
> Mass layoffs occurred soon after plant opening.
> OFFICIALLY CLOSED AFTER ONLY 14 MONTHS [IIRC 9-11 months of actual operation] + HUGE FEDERAL SUBSIDIES.
His personal favorability, once a strong point for Obama, has vanished and is now being replaced by a personal dislike that is dragging him down.
These data, buried deep in the latest NY Times/CBS poll (of registered voters, not likely voters) are both stark and important. In April, Obama had a 42-45 favorable/unfavorable rating, itself a shock given his vastly higher favorable ratings only a few months before. Now, he has a favorable rating of only 36% and an unfavorable rating of 48%.
The NY Times poll showed Romney getting 47% of the vote compared to 46% for Obama (again, this poll is of registered voters, likely voter polls are more pro-Romney). So that means that one-quarter of Obama's voters do not give him a favorable rating -- a danger sign for the president.
What is most notable about this statistic is that it is not due primarily to the bad economy. While the Times poll showed that the percent of voters who feel he is doing a good job in handling the economy has dropped to 36%, Obama's ratings in this category have been low for some time. The drop in favorability is new.

IIRC FOX NEWS AM [old] > KRAUTHAMMER = argued that the Bammer has a significant advantage oer Mittens in that Mitt is perceived by many Americans as a "Friend" or "Good ole Boy", NOT AS AN INNOVATIVE, PROB-SOLVING "LEADER" [Leader of a Nation/People].
IIUC, Mitt is not "Presidential" or
"Presidential enuff", as they used to say.

Rasmussen sez: The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Mitt Romney attracting 45% of the vote, while President Obama earns support from 44%. Six percent (6%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
Still 11% who will decide later? Inconceivable!
New data shows why the presidents you didnt build that comments have created such a furor. Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Likely Voters believe that small business owners work harder than others. Seventy-two percent (72%) believe those who start businesses are primarily responsible for the success or failure of their own business. Most also believe that entrepreneurs create more jobs than either government programs or big business.
77% disagree with Champ? Really stepped in it that time, eh?
Republicans continue to hold a modest three-point edge on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

The Shave:
George W Bush and Barack Obama somehow ended up at the same barber shop. As they sat there, each being worked on by a different barber, not a word was spoken. The barbers were even afraid to start a conversation, for fear it would turn to politics.
As the barbers finished their shaves, the one who had Obama in his chair reached for the aftershave.
Obama was quick to stop him saying, 'No thanks, my wife Michelle will smell that and think I've been in a whorehouse.'
The second barber turned to Bush and said, 'How about you sir?' Bush replied, 'Go ahead; my wife doesn't know what the inside of a whorehouse smells like.

I looked at the picture of Obummer and I read his hat at first glance as saying "Elitist."
Dick Morris is an old vote counter for Clinton. He may be right about the polls. Krauthammer seems to think that Obama would win today if the election were held.
The polls don't mean that much at this time. Maybe Obama will go off teleprompter again or somebody will sabotage his teleprompter and the real Obama will show himself again--as a social justice, redistribution, anti-capitalism guy who has been inculcated with Communist and Muslim dogma by his father.

Something to bookmark for checking periodically between now and the election: Karl Rove's 50-State Electoral Map. He's got them marked Strong D/R, Leaning D/R, Toss-Up. Mr. Rove will update it weekly, based in poll data.

Dick Morris tends to be good at crunching poll numbers. Krauthammer is great on foreign policy but I've never heard anything from him on polls before.
Two things about polls. (1) undecided tend to go to the non-incumbant (in this ccase Romney). (2) The Bradley Effect will be in full force this election.
Lastly NBC has already started skewing polls to keep their boy afloat.
We are still a long way out but the Olympics, VP selection, and Republican Convention are gonna suck the air out of Obama's polls for the forseeable future.

Agreed, but let's not get cocky. We need to convert every one of those undecideds and leanings into a vote for Romney. Wd also need to work like hell to ensure our friends, family and neighbors know the facts and are motivated to turn out. And we need to pay attention to ALL of the elections, up and down the line, to take this country back.
[Washington Examiner] Discussing his economic policies at a fundraiser in Oakland, Caliphornia, last night, President B.O., told supporters that "we tried our plan -- and it worked."
"We tried that and it didn't work," Obama said of Willard Mitt Romney ...former governor of Massachussetts, currently the presumptive Publican nominee for president. He is the son of the former governor of Michigan, George Romney, who himself ran for president after saving American Motors from failure, though not permanently. Romney's charisma is best defined as soporific, which is probably why he is leading the Publican field. On the plus side, he isn't President B.O... 's proposed tax cuts and spending cuts, which he dismissed as a Bush-style "top down" economic policy. "Just like we've tried their plan, we tried our plan -- and it worked," he added later in the speech. "That's the difference. That's the choice in this election. That's why I'm running for a second term."
Obama made these comments in Oakland, where the unemployment rate was 13.7 percent in May 2012. The national unemployment rate is 8.2 percent -- up from 8.1 percent in May -- for the second straight month.
To prove that his economic plans have "worked," Obama cited the auto industry bailouts. "I refused to turn my back on a great industry and American workers," he said. "Three years later, the American auto industry has come roaring back."

He did exactly as he planned to do. He allowed the economy to degrade, supporting it with wild expenditures into failed programs, knowing all along they would fail. Next step is to continue divide the country, get as many people on government support, then cut it off citing the rich and working class dont pay their share. Expect this between when he loses the election and when Romney is brought in. He will start it by voting fraud issues and his exploiting it.

I believe him. He is achieving his objectives. All the more reason he should go.

It worked? Only if you are a moron or it was your intention to take down our system. If taking down our system was your goal, you and your minions have been spectacularly successful. It will take years to fix this mess created by your administration. In the meantime, the suffering goes on and the economic wasteland created expands.
I honestly can't understand why anyone is considering voting for Obama at this time. His Presidency has been a disaster. He has left Carter in the rearview mirror long ago and is accelerating away fast.
