[NY Post] Anthony Weiner is still one of the most well-endowed politicians in the city.
Ah, the Post, one of the few newspapers left that has a sense of style...
The former Democratic politician, whose career came crashing down after he got caught sending out sexy photos of his congressional member, still has plenty of cash in his political war chest and is maintaining a campaign office in Midtown.
Records released yesterday in his latest financial disclosure filing show Weiner has $4.5 million remaining in a campaign fund from his aborted mayoral runs.
In the past six months, the ex-congressman spent $39,474 from that fund. Most of the money -- $33,194 -- went toward TwitterFacebookMySpace rent for an office he's had for years at 420 Lexington Ave. near Grand Central. Another $136.09 was paid for what was described as "shredding," all the Twitter statements while phone services for Verizon cost about $1,800.
All those photo texts cost money, ya know...
One source who knows Weiner but hasn't spoken to him in months said he thought there was a lease involved that couldn't easily be broken, which would explain the rent payments.
But Weiner's intentions remain one of the most intriguing questions in local politics. The $4.5 million in his campaign treasury is an enormous sum and is more than any other candidate in the city right now except for City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who's leading the early polls for mayor in 2013.
Bloomie isn't running for a fourth term?
There's nothing to prevent Weiner from spending all or part of his huge bankroll for political office again.
"He's not giving it back," said the source.
In fact, Weiner would be eligible for public matching funds if he ran for any city position that's open through 2013.

IIRC John Kerry kept about $20 million from his campaign, and I can't wait to see what Obama keeps for mad money if and when he decides he can't win.
[Mass. Live] Two Massachusetts Democrats will help draft the Democratic Party's national platform. Retiring U.S. Rep. Barney Frank will be a member of the platform drafting committee. Gov. Deval (Whoa! Nice drapes!) Patrick will be an ex-officio member.
The Democratic National Committee and Obama for America announced the committee on Thursday. The committee will meet July 27-29 for a public hearing in Minneapolis, and will then draft the platform before a meeting with a larger committee Aug. 10-12 in Detroit. The platform will represent the party's official positions for the next four years.
The drafting committee will be chaired by former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland. The full platform committee will be chaired by Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker and Lt. General Claudia Kennedy.

If I was the Republicans, I'd be putting up billboards with this.
Even his supporters admit that Barney's a pompous asshole. And Deval is Barry Lite.

Wait, they are just now getting around to talking about perhaps drafting a policy? Obama has been around for three years now, or is it Barney not a golfer.
I thought that was Barney Ready...or is it Jimmy Frank?

I am getting a nose bleed thinking about what this collection of clowns will come up with as a platform for the looney left.
Unbelievable. Do you get the idea they think they can shovel it higher and deeper and the public will just march right along? Do they believe the MSM can sell this load of offal to the public?
I guess so. I hope the Republican quit making nice and take the gloves off, they could have a field day with the results of this group.

We know their platform, destroy America, enslave us all, kill babies and let the criminals kill innocents.

I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of Americans don't know who Bawney Fwank is...or Deval Patrick either. They're like the kinds of critters that crawl out from under a rock. But first you have to pick up the rock. Now, who here believes that the MSM is gonna do that?

That's what the Internet is for, Abu Uluque - well, that and porn but porn has become less and less profitable now that the amateurs with digital phones and Skype have moved in.
