[NATIONALJOURNAL] After a tragic shooting at a Charleston church, the South Carolina state Senate voted to remove the Confederate flag, which some politicians say symbolizes the motivation behind the crime, from the statehouse grounds.
Lawmakers voted 37-3 to take down the flag, although a third reading is still needed.
Following the shooting rampage at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church last month that claimed nine lives, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley ...first woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country, after Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. At the age of 39, Haley is the youngest current governor in the U.S., a distinction formerly held by Jindal. She is a Republican, which really grates on the Dems... , along with politicians in both parties, called for the Confederate flag flying on statehouse grounds to be removed. A day later, a bill was introduced in the Legislature calling for the "permanent removal" of the flag "from its location adjacent to the Confederate soldier monument" and transfer to a museum.
The state Senate convened Monday morning to debate the bill. State Sen. Larry Martin, R-Pickens, reflected on the state's history on the floor, saying that the flag "had more to do with what was going on in the 1960s, as opposed to the 1860s."
"It is part of our past," he said. "I think we need to leave it at that."
State Sen. Thomas McElveen, D-Sumter, recognized the absence of the Rev. Clementa Pinckney Jr., his fellow senator who was one of the nine people killed in the shooting.
"We lost a brother that I thought was the conscious of the Senate," McElveen said.
State Sen. Vincent Sheheen, D-Kershaw, said Pinckney's death should not be the sole motivation behind taking the flag down.

As a flag of a (defeated) government, it belongs in a museum and not flying as a government display.
As a flag of rebels.... individuals should be free to display it anywhere and in any way they wish.

[BREITBART] White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest is blaming Republicans after an undocumented Democrat who was reportedly deported five times was charged with murder in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,.
When asked by news hounds about critics of President B.O.'s immigration enforcement policies, Earnest insisted that it was actually Republicans who are fault for voting against the Gang Of Eight bill last year, pointing out that it contained funding to increase border security.
"The fact is that the president has done everything within his power to make sure that we are focusing our law enforcement resources on criminals and those who pose a threat to public safety and it's because of the political efforts of Republicans that we have not been able to make the kind of investment that we'd like to make in securing our border and keeping our community safe," Earnest said.
Francisco Sanchez was charged with shooting and killing a 32-year-old the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... woman last week, lleading to criticism from illegal immigration activists. Earnest deferred questions about details of the case to the Department of Homeland Security.

Does anyone still believe the BS coming out of the WH? The donks have always used the Pubs for their own personal pinatas even if they have to make up narratives.
Seriously, to us this sounds like a bad joke, but there are many who do not pay any attention and silently pick up this crap through osmosis. To a percentage of the population, this is now 'true.'

Of course. If he'd been given amnesty he wouldn't have had to go to a sanctuary city like San Francisco, and thus wouldn't have been there to shoot and kill that woman on the pier.
