[AlAhram] Egypt’s navy foiled on Saturday an attempt at irregular migration by 97 people in a boat off the Alexandrian coast, the state-owned MENA news agency reported.
According to a statement by the Armed Forces, the migrants colonists included Egyptians, Eritrea ...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age... ns, Somalis, Sudanese, Syrians, Yemenis, and Chadians.
The migrants colonists were detained and transferred to Ras El-Tin naval base, where they received medical care, according to the statement.
The statement did not include information about the destination of the boat, though it was presumably heading for Europe.
In September 2016, Egypt passed a law to combat irregular migration after a boat sank off the country’s Mediterranean coast, killing hundreds of migrants colonists.
Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has spoken on multiple occasions about Egypt's ongoing efforts to curb irregular migration from its shores to Europe ‐ a key concern for European countries facing a growing migrant crisis.
[Libya Herald] The Saudi police are reported to have incarcerated Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! a third Libyan citizen as he was planning to fly out of Jeddah after performing Umrah. The man has been named as 42-year-old Abdul-Ghani Mohammed Ammar Abdullah. There are some suggestions that he is from Misrata or at least that his passport was issued through the the passport office in Misrata. He is said to have arrived in the kingdom in mid-Ramadan.
There has been no statement from the Saudi authorities although one report quotes an unnamed Libyan official saying that the man was arrested on security grounds.
Earlier this week, two men from Zawia were arrested at Jeddah airport as they were preparing to leave after having performed Umrah while a third fled to the Libyan consulate.
There are allegations that the two were involved in the kidnapping of five Egyptian diplomats in January 2014 aimed at forcing the Egyptian authorities to release Zawia’s Islamist militia leader Abu Obaida al-Zawi: he had been arrested on suspicion of being linked to Egyptian holy warriors. The Egyptian authorities let him go in order to secure their diplomats’ freedom.
His name, though, is now on the list of 75 people labelled as hard boyz by the House of Representatives’ defence committee and passed on to Riyadh.
It is meanwhile it is being reported that the Saudis are keeping an eye out for a number of other Libyans whose names they have been given and who are described as holy warriors.

British charity boss who fell for a bogus Calais refugee in fear of her life: Married mother-of-two travelled to the Jungle to help migrants... but had fling with 'Syrian' who tried to burn down her HQ
01/07/17
[DailyMail] From the moment it was launched in 2015, on a wave of heart-warming largesse, the British charity Care4Calais became a magnet for those determined to ease the plight of refugees stranded in northern France. Volunteers pitching up at the charity’s usually bustling warehouse near Sangatte in Calais this week, however, would have found the rented building — still stuffed to the rafters with bags of donations from kind-hearted Brits — virtually abandoned. A sign is taped to the door, declaring operations ‘on the ground’ have been suspended. The reason for halting their urgent humanitarian work? According to a statement on the charity’s website, it’s down to an ‘immediate security issue linked to a former volunteer’. But, as the Mail can reveal, the true story behind the temporary closure of this controversial charity is far more disturbing than that statement implies.

[Al Jazeera] At least 19 people have been killed in festivities involving gunnies and security forces in the gang-plagued northwestern Mexican state of Sinaloa, authorities said.
Sinaloa has seen a dramatic spike of homicides following the capture and extradition of convicted drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.
The violence began with a shooting on Friday that killed two men near a department store in the town of Villa Union, about 24km southeast of the beach resort of Mazatlan.
Mexico: Outrage grows over record murder rate
Officials attributed it to warring narco gang members responsible for recent violence in the state, which is home to Guzman's Sinaloa cartel.
"We believe it has to do with the transport of drugs and the fight for terrain, for the areas that these groups are fighting over," Genaro Robles Casillas, the Sinaloa state public security secretary, said at a news conference.
Police were alerted by emergency calls, and municipal officers encountered the suspected attackers as they were riding in several pickup trucks.
A fierce gunbattle broke out in which police potted 17 suspects, officials said. Five municipal coppers were maimed, but reported in stable, pH balanced condition.
At the scene of the clash, four vehicles, 15 rifles and seven handguns were found.

Analysis: Rome mayor's anti-migrant stance signals a shift to the right for the Five Star Movement
22 June
[TheLocal.it] Rome mayor Virginia Raggi has dramatically changed her tune on migration in recent weeks, in a shift to the right echoed by the Five Star Movement party's leader Beppe Grillo. The shift gives an insight into how both party politics and the migrant situation in Italy's cities have changed over the past year, writes migration researcher Nando Sigona.
The letter to the ministry is seen as part of a strategic alignment of the M5S towards more traditional right-wing politics. Other signals of this shift include migrants with insecure legal status being forcibly evicted from squats, tougher anti-begging measures introduced in Rome and a call by Beppe Grillo for Roma camps to be closed down.

According to intelligence figures up until this May 65 people have left Switzerland to join terror groups abroad, with an additional 23 unconfirmed cases, said news agencies. Among those 23 are thought to have died and an estimated 14 have returned.

[TheLocal.no] A new, gay-friendly mosque planned in Oslo will allow female imams and men and women praying together. The mosque, which will be located in the centre of the Norwegian capital, will be called Masjid al-Nisa’ (The Women’s Mosque), reports media Vårt Land. Via the organisation Skeiv Verden (Offbeat World), Thee Yezen al-Obaide has also set up an informal network for gay Muslims in Norway, he said. The project is still in its initial stages, but its founder said he hopes to be able to open the mosque next year.
A liberal mosque with a similar taboo-breaking concept opened last week in Berlin, with a female imam and women and men praying side by side. Scandinavia's first female-led mosque held its first Friday prayers in Copenhagen in August 2016. Unlike al-Obaide’s and the Berlin mosque, the Mariam Mosque in Copenhagen is open only to women.
China, the United States, Canada, Germany, Belgium and Denmark are currently the only countries with female imams.
Ramadan prayers at Catholic site spark controversy in Granada
13 June
[TheLocal.es] At sunset on Saturday evening dozens of Muslims from across Spain’s southern city of Granada gathered in a park in the city and prayed together before breaking their daily Ramadan fast.
The gathering was sanctioned by authorities at City Hall and welcomed by the Socialist mayor Francisco Cuenca as an act demonstrating Granada as a “city of co-existence and tolerance”. But the chosen place for the prayers – in the Jardines del Triunfo – provoked outrage from some quarters because it is the site of a Virgin Mary statue that is revered by Roman Catholics in the city.
"Mr. Paco Cuenca confuses tolerance and religious respect with provocation. Call for Muslim Prayers at the Virgin of Triumph ??" tweeted Luis Salvador, an MP from Ciudadanos party representing Granada.
Granada was the seat of Islamic rule for almost eight hundred years until the reconquest under the Catholic King Fernando and Queen Isabel in 1492

"Police searched the terminal from top to bottom and found no suspicious object," the source added.
The incident also led to about 20 flights being delayed.
Charles de Gaulle airport is Europe’s second-biggest airport, with some 180,000 passengers transiting through one of its eight terminals each day.

June 30 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force reported Thursday that its new Block 5 variant of the MQ-9 Reaper drone has performed its first combat mission against Islamist terrorists.
The recent 16-hour sortie, flown June 23 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, involved the unmanned aerial vehicle dropping a GBU-38 Joint Direct Attack Munitions bomb and firing two AGM-114 Hellfire missiles in support of ground forces in the Middle East.
Operation Inherent Resolve is the U.S. military name given to operations against ISIS fighters. "Operation Kill those MFers was deemed inappropriate"
"Working in conjunction with coalition joint terminal attack controllers, other MQ-9 aircraft and crews, our aircrews employed two Hellfires and one GBU-38," Maj. Dan, the 432nd Wing director of operations, said in a press release. "All three strikes met the ground force commander's intent and destroyed two defensive fighting positions, two vehicles and one mortar tube."
The Block 5 MQ-9 has an enhanced electrical and communications systems that allows the use of better software and hardware upgrades for future.
The variant also features the new Block 30 cockpit that required different training for aircrews on the ground.
The new MQ-9 aircraft arrived at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada late February and quickly received modifications, such as changes to the battery cables and enhanced generator control units. In May, these MQ-9s were flown locally at Creech AFB to test airworthiness and then shipped to the area of responsibility for Operation Inherent Resolve.

[DAWN] Indian security forces claim to have rubbed out a top Kashmiri bully boy who was accused of killing six coppers during a seven-hour shootout in the disputed Kashmire region on Saturday.
Bashir Ahmad, alias Bashir Lashkari, was on India's most-wanted list and had a one million rupee (about $15,500)-bounty on his head. Ahmad killed six coppers in an ambush in the southern Anantnag district last month, police and army officials said.
Another bully boy, who police named as Azad Malik, was also killed during Saturday's joint army and police operation in Dailigam village, part of Anantnag.
Two civilians were also killed in the clash and 17 others, who had been trapped inside a house with the bully boys, were rescued, a police front man said.
Lieutenant Colonel Rajesh Kalia, an army front man based in Kashmire's summer capital Srinagar, said the two dead bandidoshard boyz belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba ...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI... (LeT) group.

[Iran Press TV] At least four people bit the dust after a bomb, concealed in a plastic bag, went off in a semi-autonomous tribal area in northwestern Pakistain, near the Afghan border, officials say.
The incident occurred in Khyber Agency ... the place to go if you've got an Indiana Jones hat and whip. Chock full of high adventure and treacherous Pathans. You should really train up to it, though... , one of the seven tribal areas in Pakistain's Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), on Saturday, when security personnel spotted a suspicious plastic bag left unattended near a security checkpoint.
"As the security officials were inspecting the plastic bag, the bomb concealed in it went off, killing a solider, two paramilitary troops and a civilian,’ a local administration official said on condition of anonymity. Other local security officials also confirmed the incident.
No individual or group has grabbed credit for the deadly kaboom.
Pak troops have for over a decade been battling bandidosturbans in FATA to curb insurgencies by the Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... terrorist groups of Taliban ...Arabic for students... and al-Qaeda.

Battles in al-Shifa district have been ongoing against IS fighters since beginning of June.

The forces, according to JOC, consummated the recapture the of al-Farouq area, which falls adjacent to the Nuri al-Kabir Mosque where IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi proclaimed the group’s rule over Iraq in 2014.
The final liberation of Mosul, according to CTS Commander Abdul-Ghani al-Assadi, could be achieved within a few days. Only between 200 and 300 IS fighters were remaining in the city.

One 14-year old boy cradles the head of his father, who is near death. Another boy hid out in a basement, injured, for 20 days. He is almost a skeleton.
A small girl wears a card with her name and her father’s phone number – so she can be identified if separated from her family, or killed.
The elderly are exhausted. Their children are waiting for a miracle to get them out of this hell. There are thousands still trapped under ISIS rule in the remaining pocket they control in Old Mosul.
According to the Iraqi Migration Ministry, some 900,000 people have been displaced from the city.

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi forces have foiled a huge attack by Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... in a village, west of Anbar, Sputnik news agency reported.
"IS bully boyz attacked the Iraqi army and the tribal forces in al-Sakra village, west of Haditha town, western Anbar, using armored and booby-trapped vehicles and weapons" Mabrouk Hamid, mayor of Haditha, told Sputnik.
The army and tribal troops thwarted the attack and inflicted huge losses on the enemy, killing twenty bad boys, including suicide kaboomers, and destroying their weapons, Hamid added.
No casualties among civilians and security troops were reported, according to Hamid.
Haditha city is fully controlled by security forces and tribal fighters, however, IS launches attacks there every now and then. The regions in the north of the lake are desert ones with a number of houses that are used by IS bully boyz as hideouts.
Iraqi troops were able to return life back to normal in the biggest cities of Anbar including Fallujah, ... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids... Ramadi and others after recapturing them. However, it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... Anbar’s western towns of Annah, Qaim and Rawa are still held by the myrmidon group since 2014, when it emerged to proclaim a self-styled Islamic Caliphate.

[IsraelTimes] IDF soldiers dispose of West Bank shrine to ’martyr’ who murdered 22 kids, after Paleostinians ignore Jerusalem’s warnings.
Israeli security forces entered the West Bank city of Jenin Friday to remove a monument to a terrorist who criminal masterminded a notorious 1974 massacre of Israeli school children, sparking festivities in which six Paleostinians were maimed, the army and a local mayor said.
The Jenin municipality last month named a square after "martyr" Khaled Nazzal, who planned the Ma’alot massacre in which Paleostinian faceless myrmidons murdered 22 school children and four adults. It also erected a monument in Nazzal’s honor.
The move sparked a harsh response from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who accused Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial... of lying about seeking peace and of "poisoning" the minds of young Paleostinians.
Israel reportedly warned the PA that if the monument to Nazzal was not taken down, the IDF would enter Jenin to remove it.
Following the ultimatum the monument was briefly removed, but last week it was reinstalled under an agreement between Abbas’s Fatah party and the mayor of Jenin.
Early on Friday morning, an IDF spokeswoman said Israeli forces "removed a memorial erected to commemorate the terrorist Khaled Nazzal."
During festivities that broke out afterwards, two people were shot with live ammunition and four with rubber bullets, Mohammed Abu Ghali, head of the Jenin municipality, told AFP. One of the young men was at death's door after being shot in the chest, he said.
The incident came as the US has been trying to get Israelis and Paleostinians back to the negotiating table. Israel says Paleostinians glorifying the murder of Israelis is one of the biggest impediments to peace.
Netanyahu has repeatedly expressed his deep skepticism of the possibility of reaching a peace deal at present, but has at the same time voiced his commitment to working with the US on the matter.

By then, no doubt, the Arab List organized and sponsored by President Obama's people will have fallen apart amid mutual recrimination.

[AnNahar] A prominent suspect believed to be involved in bombing attack plots targeting Beirut and the southern city of Sidon is in the grip of the Lebanese army and General Security, the National News Agency reported on Saturday.
“An army patrol and the General Security agency received from the Palestinian Forces in the refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh the “most wanted fugitive known as Khaled Massaad aka al-Sayyed,” said NNA.
Massaad is accused of plotting to carry out bombing attacks during the holy month of Ramadan in Beirut and Sidon.
The handover took place at the army's Ain el-Hilweh checkpoint south of Sidon.
By long-standing convention, the army does not enter Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, where security is managed by joint committees of Palestinian factions.
That has created lawless areas in many camps, and Ain el-Hilweh has gained notoriety as a refuge for extremists and fugitives.
Al-Sayyid, who had in the past fought with jihadists in Syria, was handed over to security forces by other Islamists in the camp, according to a Rooters report.
[Ynet] Two projectiles fell in the northern Israeli Golan Heights on Saturday evening, the 17th and 18th such instance this week of spillover from the civil war in Syria. No one was hurt.
In response to the spillover fire, the IDF attacked a cannon belonging to the Syrian army. The Lebanese Al Mayadeen TV network, which is affiliated with the Assad regime and Hezbollah, reported the Israeli retaliation targeted a position of the Syrian army near the Naba'a al-Fawar base.
The projectiles, the result of internal fighting in Syria, fell between Quneitra and the Valley of Tears, the same area where most of the projectiles fell over the past week.
They landed in "no man's land" between the two border fences--the Syrian and Israeli--closer to the Syrian fence.
