Saw a bigger fight outside the local Metra train station yesterday and not a single cop showed up. A few fists thrown and a failed take down then all the rowdy players edged away home.
No idea what it was about and don't give a damn.

Very odd. Here is a subsequent report from a Dallas teleision station. The gentleman is identified, and mention made of his arrest earlier this week for driving his car at some trees in a park.
[Zero Hedge] Widespread reports continue to pour in from all over the nation of "glitches" with the food stamp system. It is eight days into the month and large numbers of people still have not received their benefits, and in other instances it is being reported that EBT cards are simply not working correctly. So what in the world is going on here? On downdetector.com there are scores of reports of problems with the EBT system from people all over the nation. Could this simply be another example of government incompetence, or is something else at work here? Waivers expiration the problem ?

I have to agree with comment #2 but I also believe it is more than coincidental that the new anti-white take matters into your own hands version of "Roots" was being broadcast on eight channels that I receive and many of them were broadcasting it back to back this last weekend. The race riot pot is being stirred with two spoons already.

Governments with access to mx, cname and A records will be able to shut the internet down at will. Even online credit card/banking transactions could be shut down killing all online commercial activity.
This regime making this decision is the same knuckle draggers who could not build the Obamacare website right, and now they are making decisions regarding the entire cyber space realm.

Foreign countries would also have the power to ration IP addresses and set pricing and expiration time frames. Watch pricing skyrocket.

So, can somebody working from (say) China provide access that USG can't touch?

Even online credit card/banking transactions could be shut down killing all online commercial activity.
Wouldn't this kind of shut-down also kill the ability to use a credit card in person, and not just online? Most modern commerce would thus stop immediately and almost totally.

I have opted out of paperless financial statements from banks, etc. I want to hear from them, regularly, in the old fashioned way. In case the internet vanishes, I have some proof of a relationship on their paper. I still have typewriters, too.

I also remember modems, not cable modems, but the old fashioned kind that you can plug one end into your computer and the other end into a phone jack. You get your computer to dial a phone number, it goes through the modem, over the phone lines and connects through another modem to another computer. I remember very well the days when credit card transactions were authorized that way, without the Internet.
I remember BofA's Home Banking system in which you could use a modem to connect to BofA. There was no Internet Explorer involved. You had to have a special BofA application on your computer to do it. But it worked pretty well. Back in those days I had a second phone line so I could do such things. Didn't have to worry about Chinese hackers.
Maybe Fred could buy a bank of modems. I'd chip in.

Going even further back, if you have the patience, I remember when the big retail establishments used private, proprietary telecommunications networks and protocols to authorize credit transactions. Big computer companies like IBM and NCR were very big into it. No Internet, no browsers, no World Wide Web and no hackers.

Just got back from the county tax collector's office, where I walked into their office, paid half a year's assessment with a paper check, got a paper receipt for it. Long story about numerous mishaps over the years for payments I tried using other methods. One thing I learned from one mishap is that there is no legal requirement for a check to be endorsed in order for the bank to issue payment to the bearer. So even if you get one of your canceled checks back, there may be no written evidence of just who cashed it.
The leader of Venezuela's congressional opposition bloc was hit in the face and bloodied Tuesday as he attempted to make his way into a government building.
Photographs circulating online showed Congressman Julio Borges being attacked with a pipe by men he identified as government supporters. He spoke at a press conference after the attack with blood streaming down from his nose and mouth, and bloody stains on his button-down shirt. It was not clear what the pipe was made of.
Borges had been attempting to enter the headquarters of the country's electoral body in downtown Caracas with other opposition figures. Security was heavy, with lines of police looking on.
Borges accused police of pushing him toward gangs loyal to President Nicolas Maduro.
"Government supporters beat us with total impunity with pipes, stones, and explosives that went off in the middle of a group of lawmakers," Borges said. "Maduro, what we want is to vote."
The opposition is pushing for a recall referendum against Maduro this year. They accuse elections officials of dragging their feet to delay the process. Officials have accepted an initial round of signatures calling for a referendum, but the process has many more steps to go.
Borges said the officials refused to meet Thursday.
Across town, a smaller group of young people faced off with police. Students had planned to march from Venezuela's top university to elections headquarters, but hundreds of police in riot gear blocked the way. Students covered their faces with Venezuelan flags and threw bottles, stones and sticks while police lobbed tear gas.

Students protesting against socialism. Amazing. I suppose it's what happens when you can't eat. Pity it takes such an extreme situation to get them to see the light.

Britain's Type 45 destroyers are some of the most powerful "small" warships ever put to sea -- unless that sea is as warm as the Persian Gulf, where the ships are routinely deployed.
Then they lose electrical power. Totally.
I wish I were kidding, but the HMS Daring and her sister ships "cannot cope" with warm waters:
"The equipment is having to operate in far more arduous conditions that were initially required," Rolls-Royce director Tomas Leahy said.
Managing director of BAE Systems Maritime, John Hudson, supported Leahy's comments, adding: "The operating profile at the time was that there would not be repeated or continuous operations in the Gulf."
Waters in the Persian Gulf can get as hot as 90 degrees F (32 degrees C).
The Royal Navy's Type 45 Destroyer, HMS Defender sails into the HM Naval Base Portsmouth for the first time on July 25, 2012.
Leahy told MPs that turbines do not generate as much power when they run in a hot environment, which is not recognized by the system.
"This is when you get your total electrical failure," Leahy explained.
Who the hell designs a warship unfit for duty in the world's most likely war zone?
They have a bigger problem than that. If they get into a major war, they have 19 destroyers and frigates. Nineteen. It might be best if their country didn't get itself into a "major war"...

The RN's historical focii has bee defense of the Channel, espec Channel ports, along wid North Atlantic trade where cold weather is the norm.
One of the main reasons why Thatcher sought a quick + decisive mil response to the 1980's Falkland Risis agz Argentina was the fear of RN shipboard power loss + rust.
US Navy = UK-NATO Navies = will needs specialized lubes + solvents, etc. to deal wid global temperature + weather changes due to changes on solar activities.
IMO GLOBAL-WARMING PROTECTED SHIPS BY 2030-2050 WON'T LOOK, RUN, OR "FEEL" AS WARSHIPS DO NOW.

As for the Artic, "...They have 19 Destroyers + Frigates" > actually, former UK Fist Sea Lord Allan West says the number is actually 13 effective warships, not 19.
Iff Britain's failure is lack of numbers + proper sea drives, ITS STILL ACCEPTABLE THAN AMERICA'S PROBLEM OF HAVING ANTI-US US POLITICOS + PRO-OWG-NWO GLBALISTS IN CHARGE OF AMERIKA'S ARMED FORCES.
POTUS OBAMA SENT US WARSHIPS INCLUDING CVN NEAR OR JUST OUTSIDE CHINA'S 12-MILE LIMIT, NOT INTO CHINA'S 12-MILE LIMIT, WHICH ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING AS PER TRYING TO STOP CHINA'S CONTRUCTION ACTIVITIES IN THE SPRATLYS. CHINA NOW HAS EFFECIVE CONTROL OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA, + WILL SOON TURN ITS FOCII TO THE FINAL RECOVERY OF TAIWAN + THE EAST CHINA SEA AGZ JAPAN + SOKOR.
Amerika's other problem ...
* WAFF > MASSIVE US NAVY SCANDAL [high-level corruption] BRINGS ITS FIGHTING ABILITY INTO QUESTION.
Over 30 USN Admirals being investigated for various contracts fraud, bribery, + general corruption. IFF BRITAIN'S NAVY HAS TOO LITTLE MONEY TO IMPROVE UPON ITS TYPE 45 WARSHIPS, THE US NAVY ON ITS PART MAY HAVE TOO MUCH.
[GEO.TV] The husband of a 16-year-old Pak girl who was murdered by her family for marrying him vowed Thursday to do whatever it took to get justice for his young wife.
Zeenat Bibi was set on fire Wednesday in Pakistain’s cultural capital of Lahore, a little over a week after she wed 20-year-old cycle of violence mechanic Hasan Khan against the wishes of her family. Her mother Perveen Bibi has admitted to the killing, though details of the brutal murder remain unclear.
Early reports suggested she had been burnt alive though police now say she may have been asphyxiated first, with a post-mortem report not expected until later this month.
Bibi´s charred remains were buried by her husband´s family before dawn after none of her relatives sought to claim her body.
Speaking to AFP on Thursday, a visibly distraught Khan said: "I am determined to continue the legal proceedings against the family. I am after them, and my family is supporting me.
"It is my destiny now to bring her justice ‐ if the accused are condemned it will bring calm and peace to my soul."
Khan, who said he had met his wife while they were students at high school, also suggested that Perveen had been helped in the murder by her brother and son, and was covering up for them.
The case has drawn widespread outrage even in a country used to so-called "honour killings", which account for hundreds of deaths every year. It was also the third such case involving burning over a three-month span.

So they'll give him her 13 year old sister as reparations?
[GEO.TV] A 24-year old woman was admitted to hospital with serious burn injuries after being set on fire reportedly by her husband and mother-in-law, Geo News reported on Thursday.
Nadia was being treated at the Jinnah Hospital where she was shifted by her neighbours who said the victim was doused with kerosene oil before being set ablaze.
Medics said the patient was at death's door.
Abdul Waheed, father of the victim, said her daughter married to Saleem a year and a half ago and was living with her husband and mother-in-law since then. He said the couple frequently fought.
The District Police Officer (DPO) said family of the victim has not yet approached the police but expressed his resolve to bring the elements responsible for the crime to justice.
The husband and mother-in-law are said to have fled after the incident.
The incident was reported a day after Zeenat Bibi, 16, was set on fire in Lahore, a little over a week after she wed 20-year-old cycle of violence mechanic Hasan Khan against the wishes of her family. Her mother Perveen Bibi has admitted to the killing, though details of the brutal murder remain unclear.
