While it's true a part of me would like to see Journalists held accountable some way, if you support killing them...
Well, who's to say over there bloggers critical of the regime aren't journalists. Or really, if you can kill a journalist for "Lying", is a rival politician next? Just to much of a slippery slope for me.

[FOXNEWS] The Justice Department moved Tuesday to fight a federal judge’s order that its lawyers undergo mandatory ethics training, digging in after the DOJ was accused of misleading the courts over President B.O.'s immigration executive actions.
In filings Tuesday, the department said the order would "far exceed the bounds of appropriate remedies" and would cost the department millions.
How much would it cost to hold each of the lawyers in this kerfuffle in contempt? How much would it cost to have them disbarred?
U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen, of Texas, had issued the order earlier this month, after alleging DOJ attorneys misled him about the implementation of Obama’s executive orders on illegal immigrants colonists.
Attorneys had told Hanen that a key component ‐ an expansion of a 2012 program to protect illegal immigrants colonists from deportation if they were brought to the U.S. as children ‐ hadn’t been implemented. But officials later revealed they had given more than 108,000 people three-year reprieves from deportation under the expanded rules, as well as work permits.
Hanen blocked Obama's actions and the case is now before the Supreme Court.
Hanen’s scathing order filed on May 19 accused the DOJ of a "calculated plan of unethical conduct." He ordered that all DOJ lawyers attend a yearly ethics course. He also ordered the department to turn over the names of those who received the reprieves.
"Such conduct is certainly not worthy of any department whose name includes the word 'Justice,'" Hanen said.
The Department of Justice responded in the court filing Tuesday, saying that it "emphatically" disagrees with the judge’s ruling, claiming that none of its lawyers intended to deceive. The filing requests Hanen’s order be put on hold so federal lawyers can review.

In only 7 years the Obama regime successfully corrupted the Executive, Legislative (Congress), and the Supreme Court. But they still have a thorn in thier side called Texas.

it may be that Judge Hanen's order was a bit too much and too little.
he ordered all DOJ attorneys in 26 states to take the training
really the attorneys at DOJ HQ were the actual liars here and ethics training is, IMO, too small a punishment for them -- they (the attorneys in DOJ HQ and their bosses) instead should be forbidden to represent the govt in any federal court --forever

Federal attorneys attending 'ethics training?' Little wonder DoJ is fighting the decision.

Concur with Lord Garth. The scope too large and the punishment clearly too little. Perhaps the Judge intentionally painted with too broad a brush in order to bring attention to the matter...with intent to later withdraw his order and bring contempt charges on the individual liars.
The semantics bother me in this case as well - "misled" means LIE. If you are an attorney and play the game and LIE in court...well, the sanctions have to be severe. Contempt charges, jail and permanent bar to practicing law. All attorney and SES' that signed off on this game playing should receive same.
Note well -
"Annual ethics training is mandatory for all personnel who file an OGE Form 278 or an OGE Form 450. Supervisors may make ethics training mandatory for other personnel."
However, as I previously posted 'moral relativism' has no ethics.

What good will 'Ethics Training' do? I've got to believe that the DOJ lawyers knew it was unethical to lie to the judge. Additional training won't do anything. I can recite the Ten Commandments and still sin. Just knowing the rules won't prevent you from breaking them.

P2K - OGE Form 278 or an OGE Form 450 is a required vague financial disclosure training. It is absolutely worthless as what you and I think of as ethics training - I've been through it.
You are on to something with the moral relativism bit though. Although I favor descriptors for the DOJ attorney(s) that misled the Judge: blackguard, corrupt, dishonorable, big fat liar, and scoundrels.

Professional engineers, in several jurisdictions, are required to take ethics training, periodically. But those guys (including me) are licensed by the State, to protect the State from scum and villainy. Engineers can be reprimanded, fined, or have their license revoked.

Heck I'm working for a large corporation and I have to take training in 'Spirit and Letter', which is basically ethics and to follow the (spirit and letter of the) rules, every year - and sign off that I took the training and understand it.
Big hit tonight regarding a commercial at 10:30 tonight on 9News at 10:00 in the Denver area.
The first portion glowed over how Gov. Hickenlooper got 60 oil and gas industry leaders together at some point to work on environmental issues. The second half twice showed large upper case letters saying "Colorado has the strictest laws (of this sort) in the country," while showing great stills and moving shots of snow covered Colorado mountains.
Gov. Hickenlooper won an election in 2014, which means he's good until 2018?

Pagliano was recently described to Fox News by an intelligence source as a "devastating witness." If so, it is no wonder Clinton has legions of legal eagle obstructionists working to block testimony to try to blunt/neutralize anything Pagliano might say.

Trump did just come to town and say the drought in California is all Jerry's fault. I bet Jerry would have supported Sanders before that.
Having said that I doubt Jerry Brown has much pull among the voters either way. He's been doing his slow destruction of California quietly as far as I can tell.

In a sane world where the political class was not shielded by their allies in the press, Jerry Brown would be an object of bemused pity. AN educated man who lacks even rudimentary common sense, haunted by Daddy's legacy, and edging ever closer to the abyss of genuine dementia....
[The Hill] House Democrats are asking for a chance to review the GOP's report on the Benghazi terrorist attacks before it is released to the public.
The five Democrats on the House Select Committee on Benghazi sent a letter to Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) proposing a "joint report" on Benghazi that starts with findings shared by lawmakers in both parties "followed by areas on which reasonable people may disagree."
Failing that, Democrats said they should be able to review a draft copy of the Republican-led committee's work, in order to add "corrections, additional context or other input before you release it publicly." In exchange, Democrats said they would let Republicans review their own opposing report for the same purpose.
"In our view, the worst approach would be for you to publicly release a partisan report drafted only by Republicans that has never been reviewed by nearly half of the select committee members," ranking member Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) and the committee's four other Democrats wrote.
"Such a report would not have the benefit of robust vetting by all select committee members and, as a result, very likely would include critical errors and other deficiencies."

So they can prepare the spin and get in front of the press cycle. Screw them. They have fought and complained the whole way. Let them put their misgivings in their rebuttal report. Then file charge of obstruction against them.
Yet again, another example of just how broken our congress is. An ambassador is brutally murdered and the investigation is a partisan event. All of them in congress needs to bow before our Statue of Liberty and beg forgiveness.

I don't know why the Donks even bother. Any spinning and obfuscating that needs to take place to protect Shedevil will be performed by the fawning media.
