It was long since time for them to panic, but doing so now is better than nothing. Go for it, guys!

It's about time. I panicked on the economy about 14 nanoseconds after he was elected to his second term...as if the angst of his first term and the carnage of my personal finances weren't enough

Which economy would this be? As long as their printing press works, not a chance.

Ah, when your strategic planning is the growth of government at the expense of the private sector, what do you expect? Running the system off of uncontrolled printing of money the Magic Money Tree only lasts till ruinous inflation kicks in - see Venezuela.
[WEEKLYSTANDARD] Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alan Webber of New Mexico says of his likely political opponent, Republican governor Susana Martinez, that "We need to send her back to wherever she really came from."
"So I'm asking you for your help, we need to make Susana Martinez a one-term governor. We need to send her back to wherever she really came from," says Webber in a video obtained by The Weekly Standard. "I suspect it's Texas. And that would be good for Texas and that would be good for New Mexico."
Martinez, who is up for reelection this year, is a Hispanic Republican. Indeed, she's the first woman Hispanic governor in America.
Webber, who squares off in a primary on June 3 to face Martinez in the November election, is a controversial Democrat. "Webber has a history of radical views, including ties to the Weather Underground and urging empathy for a child sex offender," the Washington Free Beacon previously reported.
Webber has raised the most money of Democratic candidates
from who, Bill Ayers?
vying to challenge Republican Gov. Susana Martinez, and is competing against four other Democrats, including Lawrence Rael, who exaggerated his resume on his campaign website. The primary will be held on June 3.

Had the 'R' and 'D' been reversed, this wouldn't be the first time I heard of this (THANKS Rantburg!).
It would have been trumpeted from every rooftop and street corner by the leftys and their sycophant media.

In New Mexico, there is no worse insult than to accuse someone of being from Texas.
The last governor of Mexico-ruled New Mexico, Manuel Armijo, was reputed to have said, "Poor New Mexico! So far from heaven, so close to Texas"
[Washington Post] Republican candidates have begun to retreat in recent weeks from their all-out assault on the Affordable Care Act in favor of a more piecemeal approach, suggesting they would preserve some aspects of the law while jettisoning others.
The changing tactics signal that the health-care law -- while still unpopular with voters overall -- may no longer be the lone rallying cry for Republicans seeking to defeat Democrats in this year's midterm elections.

Gutless bitches. We need more like Ted Cruz in there, and less of McConnel and Boehner.
[THEDAILYBEAST] President B.O. was telling Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan that Malia's high school prom date had nothing to fear. But it will hardly be surprising if detractors and kibitzers from both political parties use that bit of self-reflection to diagnose one of the fundamental problems afflicting the Obama White House.
Nobody seems to be afraid of the guy. That, according to conventional Washington wisdom, is a major reason why his political and policy agendas are stuck in a ditch on Capitol Hill, and why Vladimir Putin ...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead... and Iran's Supreme Ayatolla, Ali Khamenei, seem to view the Leader of the Free World with something less than shock and awe.
When Kelly told the president "We're terrified!" and Michael claimed "We're scared to death!", they were simply being the big kidders we all know them to be.
The president has been having a tough time of it lately--a blossoming scandal at the Veterans Administration, foreign policy troubles that have only gotten worse, and his own job approval ratings down in the basement--so it's understandable that he'd seek sweet relief by appearing on Friday's installment of Live With Kelly & Michael. After all, with the notable exception of Jerry Springer, daytime television, with its largely female viewership, is a combat-free environment, potentially allowing an embattled politician to communicate his message unchallenged.

Head fake to minimize opporesearch and strategic planning. The taste of power for people like the wookie is pure crack after a couple of hits.
[Washington Post] Eric K. Shinseki resigned Friday as secretary of veterans affairs, taking responsibility for a scandal in the VA health-care system over excessive waiting times and coverups of what he called "systemic" problems.
President Obama announced that he accepted Shinseki's resignation after agreeing with his embattled VA secretary that he had become a "distraction" as the department struggles to deal with a huge increase of veterans in need of care after more than a decade of war overseas.

Eric K(ill a Vet) Shinseki - Load your station wagon and head outa town - Watch out for Ramblers in Virginia - They usually are very caustic

Just learned yesterday of a friend who was awaiting his first appointment at the VA Hospital in Madison, WI. It was scheduled for sometime in late July. He got a call last week and told that it had been moved up to last week. When he arrived, the waiting room was full of veterans. As conversations ensued, they learned that many of their appointments had mysteriously been expedited within the past week. When he was called up to the desk, he asked the clerk if the change had anything to do with recent events in Arizona. The clerk was polite but declined to attribute the scheduling change to events in the news.

But he was supposed to get everybody in the VA a beret before he left...

That which doesn't get inspected, doesn't get done.
Issuing fiats from the Beltway and accepting reports from 'yes men' from below renders the usual results. The socialist can't learn. Same problem in Moscow. Lots of useless reports that provided only the answers the guys on the top floor wanted to hear. You're seeing it in Caracas as we type taking down an entire nation. Still, they plod on, looking for that 'right' man to do the job that can't be done.
#7
Never dawns on these people that the reports that need to be checked are the disbursements on the log side of the house for comparison. Consumption rates gives you an indication of the level of work actually going on versus what is 'penciled in' by the front office. Tack that on to some robust unannounced management by walking around, and you'll get some results rather than useless bureaucratic CYA paper reports.

Proco, they understand this. These people are lawyers. The first thing they teach in law school about examining witnesses is: "Never ask a question if you don't already know the answer".
It's not about solving problems, it's about assigning blame.

[NBCNEWS] President Barack Obama I inhaled. That was the point... made a surprise appearance Friday to announce that his chief front man Jay Carney is leaving his post behind the podium.
Obama called Carney one of his closest advisers and friends at the White House in remarks to the press in the White House briefing room.
"In April, Jay came to me in the Oval Office and said that he was thinking of moving on, and I was not thrilled, to say the least," he said. "But Jay has had to wrestle with this decision for quite some time."

Damn - A Double Header Carney and Shinseki - Things are looking up.
[Daily Caller] Jennifer O'Connor, a former partner at Wilmer Hale who has helped both the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Health and Human Services navigate legal crises, is slated to join the White House Counsel's Office Friday, the Legal Times reports.
O'Connor served in the Clinton administration during his first term. According to the Wall Street Journal, "she was among the administration officials who testified in a House probe of whether the Clinton White House applied political pressure to help the Teamsters in a bitter strike," was an adviser helping the IRS navigate accusations of unfair targeting of conservative groups, and worked with the HHS in the wake of the botched Obamacare website rollout. (RELATED: Washington launches four different investigations into IRS scandal) Hildebeast to O'Conner: Keep an eye on the poor simple minded SOB, and call Bill or me immediately if he looks like he's going to do anything stupid between now and my announcement date. This Gowdy and Benghazi thing has me worried.

This regime has no real accomplishments ("hope and change!") and they are unraveling faster. It's a matter of time before the "leaving to write a book" push starts. Hopefully, for them, before the subpoenas

[FREEBEACON] State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki was openly mocked by the assembled press corps Thursday after saying President B.O. "doesn't give himself enough credit for what he's done around the world."
News Agency that Dare Not be Namednews hound Matt Lee asked sarcastically whether he deserved 200 percent credit, while another one wondered for what "accomplishments" Psaki meant he deserves more praise.
"For engagement initiatives like Iran, what we've done on Ukraine, efforts to dive in and engage around the world," she said.
"I mean, Russia has still annexed Crimea," another news hound asked. "I mean, Iran -- there's ongoing negotiations, but is that the success here that you're talking?"
"We're talking about engagement in the world and taking on tough issues that present themselves," Psaki said. "And the United States continues to play a prominent role doing that."

965 days until inauguration day but who's counting. If it happens to be Hildebeast, then the Dark Ages continue. Another round of Sisyphus pushing the rock up the hill. Eight years becomes interminable.
Jen Psaki is a loser. It is about as difficult to lister to her as it is the ONE or Carney. Thank God Carney is leaving.

I think O should get BOTH NBA and NFL most valuable player awards this year.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
