[Daily Caller] An Ohio criminal made the mistake of robbing a bank that had an armed, off-duty police officer inside -- and loaded his gun with the wrong kind of ammunition.
The now-deceased 20-year-old Terry Frost III timed his robbery perfectly Wednesday, and knew the exact moment the teller withdrew $90,000 from the ATM. Police have now released surveillance footage of the shooting.
Frost sprinted into a Madison, Ohio bank and within seconds jumped the front desk, grabbed the bag, and then found himself on the receiving end of Officer Kevin Hankerson’s weapon. Needless to say, Officer Hankerson had the correct ammo in his pistol.

He faces additional charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Someone is going to get a nasty "Dear Colleague" letter from DoJ for not following the Newspeak Dictionary of approved words and implying existing gun controls don't work.

You guys have this ALL WRONG!. The police officer isn't a hero, he is a cold blooded murderer. I mean, the kid's gun didn't fire even once, but the officer shot him TWICE!!!!

A white supremacist gang had Colorado's prison chief gunned down as the result of a convoluted murder plot, new documents claim.
An investigative report obtained by The Denver Post sheds a new light on the March 2013 death of Tom Clements, the head of the state's department of corrections at the time.
Evan Ebel, the only suspect in the case, who died two days later in Texas after a shootout with police, killed Clements as a way to redeem himself after a fallout within the 211 Crew, a white supremacist prison gang founded in Denver 20 years ago, the report states.
Investigators say Ebel, who had been recently paroled at the time of Clements' death, exchanged hundreds of phone calls and text messages with 211 Crew members after his release from prison.
Ebel wanted to redeem himself after a falling out with gang leader Ben Davis, an informant told investigators. Evan Ebel killed head of Colorado's department of corrections Tom Clements in March 2013 as part of a murder plot by 211 Crew, a white supremacist prison gang, an investigative report claims.
The 77-page report, submitted in May 2013 by Texas Ranger James Holland, states what Colorado officials have so far not acknowledged: 'The murder of the Colorado Department of Corrections director was ordered by hierarchy of the 211 prison crew.'
This is the clearest indication yet that more than one person was involved in the slaying. Much more at the link
[MSN] Memorials to veterans in a Los Angeles neighborhood and a town in Kentucky, as well as a Civil War veterans cemetery in Virginia, were damaged as the nation prepares to mark Memorial Day, officials said.
A Vietnam War memorial in the Venice area of Los Angeles has been extensively defaced by graffiti. The vandalism occurred sometime during the past week, KCAL/KCBS-TV (http://cbsloc.al/1RAa3mg) reported. The homespun memorial painted on a block-long wall on Pacific Avenue lists the names of American service members missing in action or otherwise unaccounted for in Southeast Asia.
News of the vandalism came as another veterans-related memorial was reported damaged in Henderson, Kentucky. Police say a Memorial Day cross display there that honors the names of 5,000 veterans of conflicts dating back to the Revolutionary War has been damaged by a driver who plowed through the crosses early Saturday.
In Virginia, the Petersburg National Battlefield has apparently has been looted, the National Park Service said. Numerous excavations were found at the Civil War battlefield last week, Jeffrey Olson, and agency front man, said in a news release Friday. Petersburg National Battlefield is a 2,700-acre park marks where more than 1,000 Union and Confederate soldiers died fighting during the Siege of Petersburg 151 years ago.
In Los Angeles' Venice neighborhood, the wall for missing veterans has been tagged previously, but the latest vandalism covers the bottom half of the memorial for much of its length.
To George Francisco, vice president of the Venice Chamber of Commerce, it's not just graffiti. "It's a desecration. I mean it's very simple. There's no sort of other way around it, said Francisco, who also runs a nonprofit called Veterans Foundation Inc.
"I've known the sacrifices these people made in an incredibly unpopular war. So to continue the mistreatment of Vietnam veterans is somewhat shocking, somewhat shocking and quite sad," Francisco said.
Painted by a Vietnam veteran and dedicated in 1992, it declares, "You are not forgotten" and states the number of missing as 2,273.

...It's my understanding the Petersburg thing was on the actual battlefield, not the cemetery proper - not that it makes it much better.

[CBSNEWS] HOBE SOUND, Fla. -- Crime scene technicians unearthed partial remains believed to be a missing south Florida mother after her ex-husband, who is charged with her murder, led them to the place where he said he buried her in an acid-filled barrel in a shallow grave in the Hungryland Wildlife Management Area, reports CBS affiliate WPEC.
The remains that are likely U.S. Air Force veteran Tricia Todd were located 19 miles away from her Hobe Sound home and just outside Sherlocks' original search area, a 15-mile perimeter near Todd's home.
"(The grave) is nothing more than a simple hole maybe three feet deep. The body was in a container," said Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder at a presser at the preserve on Thursday evening.

[CBSNEWS] HARRIS COUNTY, GA. -- Police were searching for three suspects after a sheriff's deputy was shot in the face during a traffic stop south of Atlanta Saturday evening.
Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley told CBS affiliate WRBL that the incident happened around 6 p.m.
Three people were inside a 1994 blue Chevrolet Caprice on I-85 southbound, about 80 miles south of downtown Atlanta, when they were stopped by Deputy Jamie White. It was not immediately known why the deputy stopped the car.
White was shot once above the left eye while walking up to the vehicle, Jolley said. He was taken to Midtown Medical Center and was awaiting surgery late Saturday, according to WRBL. Jolley said White was expected to survive.
Images of the suspects' car were captured by the deputy's dash camera. Authorities asked anyone who saw the vehicle, which had Alabama license plate 57CL161, to call police.
Jolley said White had been part of the Harris County Sheriff's Office for more than two years and had previously served in North Georgia.
