[AmericanThinker] We now know with forensic certainty that two frontal headshots and one shot from the rear at a low angle (not from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository) killed JFK. The evidence for these conclusions comes from a new book, The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy: The Final Analysis, that I have recently published with Dr. David W. Mantik, who has a Ph.D. in physics and a medical practice extending over five decades as a radiation oncologist and who has seen the JFK autopsy skull X-rays more than anyone else.

Kennedy was waving at the crowd, thus facing the crowd/building. After the frontal shots he slumped exposing the back of his head. Leave Kennedy alone.

[Bee] Unsealed documents from the Department of Justice reveal that postal workers were formally authorized to use deadly force while delivering mail to Mar-a-Lago.
"This is standard procedure," confirmed Attorney General Merrick Garland. "We are in no way secretly targeting Donald Trump. We are merely authorizing mail carriers to fire on Donald Trump if he shows up to collect his mail. This is for the safety of our postal workers and is nothing out of the ordinary."
To date, no mail carriers have been harmed while visiting Mar-a-Lago, but experts warn it's only a matter of time before Trump is caught eagerly waiting for a package. To prepare for this eventuality, the United States Postal Service will require all its employees who deliver to Mar-a-Lago to pass a gun safety course in which they fire on targets made to look like Donald Trump.
"This totally standard and not at all unusual protocol saves lives," Deputy Postmaster Milton Farmland said. Then, speaking through an intercom to trainees, he shouted, "Shoot to kill! Shoot to kill!"
"Neither snow, nor rain, nor Trump shall stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds," said Postmaster General Benjamin Connell, quoting the United States Postal Service creed as he adjusted the sights on his SVD Dragunov.
Asked to comment on the matter, President Biden explained he had no knowledge of what the DOJ does, or what his name is. "What is mail?" asked Biden. "This sounds like a trick. Did Jill put you up to this? Where's my ice cream?"
At publishing time, outraged congressional Republicans vowed to hold the administration accountable by writing a strongly worded letter to the DOJ.

[CDRSalamander] If you’ve hung around American navalist circles enough, you’ve heard people defend the proposition that it isn’t the aircraft carrier that is our capital ship; it is the nuclear attack submarine (SSN).
If true, you would think that everything would be done to make sure that the ones we have were properly maintained, and the industrial infrastructure was scalable, and robust.
You would think.
Over at American Affairs Journal, our friend Jerry Hendrix has an exceptionally well-researched article that needs to be on your must-read list this week, Sunk at the Pier: Crisis in the American Submarine Industrial Base.
Onstation at the yards, his SITREP is sobering;
…of the submarine force already in commission, sixteen of those forty-nine boats—or nearly a third of the Navy’s premier offensive force—are in drydocks or tied to piers, lacking required dive certifications. These submarines cannot get underway due to a three-year maintenance backlog in the U.S. Navy. The bottom line is that the American submarine force, the “point of the spear” of American power, upon which so many military plans depend, is unprepared to meet the current threat environment, and there are no quick fixes. It has taken decades—and a sequence of bad assumptions and poor decisions—to fall into the current state of unpreparedness, and it will take years, as well as significant investments in both new ship construction and submarine repair capacity, to recover.

what do we need offensive forces for? They are just a temptation for the worst in DC to start more expensive wars we can't afford.
Defend our own border, that's a tall enough problem for them to fix. After that's over we can worry about shipyards.

what do we need offensive forces for?
Think of it like car insurance - better have it and not need it than need it and not have it. MAD may sound mad, but it's basic game theory.
I'd be more worried about the Klingons and other schemers looking to play the Great Game. Who is up for some Afghanistan?

Think of it in terms of football. Few scores are made by the defensive line. Of course if your goal doesn't include winning, leave the offensive line on the bench.

Do they actually have crews for the boats?
I realize the nuc boats always have reactor guys on board, even when powered down, but how 'bout the rest? They seem to be shorthanded.
(I had a HS buddy, who qual'ed for reactor watch, got assigned to a boat in the Pac, and rode it into the Boston navy yard for a 2 year refit. Good work if you can get it.)

In 1968, Nuclear subs needed “refueling” every 5 years. I do not know what the current schedule looks like since I left the sub force in 72. The reason why, I got married and would not go back to “cold” bunking.

Still, a better performance record than our friends in Germany.

if I understand correctly, the Los Angeles class only requires one refueling during its lifetime and the Virginia class don’t require any refuelings!

[LI] President Joe Biden announced another round of student loan cancellations.
This round totals $7,700,000,000. Writing it out shows how much money just went down the drain.
The administration has already canceled $167,000,000,000 in student loans.
In 2022, the Supreme Court said he overstepped his authority when he announced he would cancel up to $400,000,000,000 in loans.
The administration found ways to worm around the decision through established "federal student loan forgiveness programs."
These programs limit the action to "specific categories of borrowers."
"These discharges are for three categories of borrowers: those receiving Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF); those who signed up for President Biden’s Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan and who are eligible for its shortened time-to-forgiveness benefit; and those receiving forgiveness on income-driven repayment (IDR) as a result of fixes made by the Administration," Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced.
The government has to pay the bill. Where does the government get that money? You and me. So we’re paying for our children’s and someone else’s college.
HOWEVER! That also applies to those people who had their loans wiped out. So they’re paying back their loans and others as well.

Would be fascinating to see a summary table of what specific degrees are associated with the loans being deleted. I’m betting on Forensic Botany as #1.
[NYPOST] Unable to run on his stunning record of failure, President Biden has resorted to the lowest of campaign tricks: buying votes — and he’s doing it with your dollars.
No, it’s not actually a quid pro quo; no one he’s trying to bribe is obliged to back him in November.
But he’s trying, with the full faith and credit of the United States as his stake.
The latest: Wednesday, he announced yet another student-loan bailout, another $7.7 billion to 160,000 young Americans — bringing his total college-debt handout to a whopping $167 billion to some 4.75 million folks.
Never mind that he has no congressional authority to cancel many of these loans. Or that the Supreme Court explicitly struck down his first bid to forgive as much as $20,000 per student.
On another front, the day before he announced plans to drain another million barrels of gasoline from supplies in the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Why the surprise. DeTocqueville nailed it in 1835. Said something like "this experiment will last only until they realize they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury".
[Bee] TEHRAN — Following the death of one of its prominent national leaders, the Iran government confirmed today that they are interviewing several new bearded genocidal psychopaths to replace its deceased president.
Despite the death of President Ebrahim Raisi, the Iranian regime assured its people and the world that it had already compiled an extensive list of ruthless, turban-wearing men with beards as candidates to serve in his place.
"No need to worry, we've got a full supply of extremist bearded mass-murderers in the lineup," said a spokesman for the Iranian government. "Though the tragic helicopter crash robbed us of one of our finest turban-wearing bearded killers, we have a long line of robed Islamic extremists waiting to fill the position."
Bearded, turban-wearing hopefuls lined up around the block at the House of Leadership in Tehran in hopes of being granted an interview for the job. "This is my dream job," said one robed, bearded, dead-eyed man waiting in line. "I have spent many years studying and preparing for the opportunity to serve in the government and advance the cause of our people and Islam. Though the death of President Raisi was sad, I am ready to carry on the tradition of murdering my own people and calling for the death of America."
The government spokesman said the first round of interviews would be completed within a week, followed by a rigorous, multi-step process to select the new president. "Whoever our next president is, you can be sure he'll have a beard," he said. "And he'll be a psychopath who hates Jews."

Of course this is from a Russian govt approved source.
However, it seems to take for granted that there is a written strategic partner agreement between Iran and Russia. There is obviously a de facto agreement currently but I doubt any actual written agreement has been vetted by any western source.
