[National Review] President Barack Obama called Senator John McCain (R., Ariz.) last year to thank him for casting the decisive vote against legislation that would have effectively repealed Obamacare, according to an excerpt of McCain’s forthcoming memoir obtained by NBC.
In McCain’s memoir, The Restless Wave: Good Times, Just Causes, Great Fights, and Other Appreciations, which he coauthored with longtime aide Mark Salter, he describes receiving a call from Obama in July after crushing Republican hopes of dismantling the former president’s signature domestic achievement.
Obama called to say thank you and added that he was "counting on me to be an outspoken and independent voice for the causes I believed in as I had been during his presidency," McCain wrote of the call.

McCain played no small role in getting Barry elected in the first place.
In other news, he's also going around bad mouthing Palin. Classy. And keep in mind that by picking her, he destroyed one of the most promising conservative political careers in a generation.
Bottom story of the day.
[The Hill] - Former first lady Michelle Obama said Saturday that she isn't interested in running for office, cautioning that "it doesn't matter who runs" for the presidency until the U.S. becomes unified. That's because her husband did every single thing imaginable to make it that way.
...
"You can't just say, 'You're a woman, run.' And we can't look for women like that," Obama said at a women's empowerment forum in Boston. "We can't just say let's find the women we like and ask them to do it, because there are a million women who are inclined and who do have the passion for politics." Typical Dem talking points - blame everything on racism & sexism.

I feel sorry for Mrs. Obama. She works hard to stay in shape, she works hard to be stylish, she worked hard for her degrees and her career, she worked hard to be a good First Lady as she understood the role —all things that are visibly not natural for her. And those who claim to be her friends do not help her in the ways she needs to be helped..
Not becoming a politician in her own right is one of a few decisions she’s made that I agree with. I only hope that twenty years from now she is not divorced, broke and alone in the world, withuot any idea how it happened.
[BIZPACREVIEW] An attempt by special counselor Robert Mueller to harangue a number of Russian companies and individuals for allegedly interfering in the 2016 presidential election appears to be backfiring "bigly."
On Friday the special counselor’s office sought to delay its first court hearing on the matter out of what appeared to be anxiety.
When Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities in February, he assumed his foreign-based targets would simply ignore any future court proceedings since they clearly live outside his jurisdiction, according to Politico. He assumed wrong.
Last month a team of Washington lawyers reportedly appeared out of nowhere and notified the court that they represent Concord Management and Consulting, one of the companies targeted by Mueller.
The move was reportedly designed "to force Mueller’s team to turn over relevant evidence to the Russian firm and perhaps even to bait prosecutors into an embarrassing dismissal in order to avoid disclosing sensitive information."
And apparently the move seems to be working, judging by the special counsel’s desperate bid Friday to force a delay in the case.
Mueller’s team claimed otherwise, arguing in court Friday that the Russian entities affected by his "witch hunt" had not yet received their summons because of, ironically enough, stonewalling by the Russian government.
"The [U.S.] government has attempted service of the summonses by delivering copies of them to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia, to be delivered to the defendants," Mueller’s team reportedly said.
"That office, however, declined to accept the summonses. The government has submitted service requests to the Russian government pursuant to a mutual legal assistance treaty. To the government’s knowledge, no further steps have been taken within Russia to effectuate service."
Uh huh ...
What’s telling is that in their request for a delay, Mueller’s team included Concord Management’s requests for relevant evidence.
"Until the Court has an opportunity to determine if Concord was properly served, it would be inadvisable to conduct an initial appearance and arraignment at which important rights will be communicated and a plea entertained," his team whined.
"That is especially true in the context of this case, which involves a foreign corporate defendant, controlled by another, individual foreign defendant, that has already demanded production of sensitive intelligence gathering, national security, and foreign affairs information."

What is Russian courts indicts Mueller and swears out an Interpol warrant? Popcorn, popcorn with lots of garlic butter...

Mueller is little more than a Deep State scalp hunter hired by the Shadow Government oligarchy to discredit and destroy the Donald Trump presidential anomaly.
The Deep State is becoming quite nervous. Former CIA Director Mike Hayden now uses the term "lacks Objective Reality" (truth) in reference to Donald Trump. In his new book The Assault on Intelligence, Hayden now makes the case that the Intelligence Community is under attack and actually the victim of a deranged, 'objective reality' starved and probably insane POTUS.
The wealthy entrepreneur 'never to be King' fellow, is now King! The puppet masters, people like Hayden, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, and others are scrambling to regain control, a control they should have never exercised in the first place.

Weird. Based on other cases I've followed, appearance of your lawyers means you are aware of the case. Perhaps not properly served -- the service could be deficient in many grounds -- but certainly aware of it enough to argue about the service.
For the plaintiff to argue a defendant appearing court wasn't served yet should leave the plaintiff open to dismissal for failing to press their case.

Aren't there two different things going on here...? The Russians can (A) Say that Mueller is a lying putz that is libeling them while at the very same time (B) contending that he has no jurisdiction over them so 'he can go pound sand'.

So why have the judges let this go on for so long? I will tell you how this will go. It will all fall apart, congress will enact laws that will limit FBI powers, and it will all go away, right about the time Trump leaves office. Thus making the whole charade a raging success it stopping Trump from performing his elected duties and protecting the next establishment type president.

Mueller does seem to have a Napoleon Complex, like a legal beagle version of Douglas MacArthur, doesn't he?
MacArthur was a legit war hero maligned by Truman-loving leftist critics who covered for Truman's disastrous micro-management of the Korean War (followed later on by LBJ's, Clinton's, Hillary's and Obama's similar conduct). Mueller's just a Benedict Arnold.
Making a virtue out of what would have happened anyway.
[NYP] Sen. John McCain loathes President Trump so much that he plans to diss him from beyond the grave.
The ailing Arizona Republican, who has brain cancer, is organizing his funeral ‐ and close associates have told the White House that Trump will not be invited.
Instead, Vice President Mike Pence, who served with McCain in Congress, will be asked to attend the service, the New York Times reported Saturday. The ceremony will be held at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
This is one of the things we have vice presidents for, as in general their duties are not so pressing.
A stream of politicians, including former Vice President Joe Biden and former Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, have been visiting McCain at his Arizona ranch and a nearby hospital in recent weeks.

Yes, he wanted Lieberman to be his VP running mate too. Oh, and wants Biden to "stay in politics" aka Run against Trump in 2020.
So yeah, the mask is coming off now that he's convinced he's a dead man. I just hope he dies before May ends, for the sole reason it will let Arizona pick a Senator before 2020.

Trump should do a fly over in Airforce One. Palin can be the co-pilot. Ted Cruz can drop a load ... of confetti.

May heaven be his reward - and the sooner, the better.
May he share a room with Benedict Arnold, another former POW who did great service at Saratoga for America, but who's ego brought him to betray a far nobler cause.

Gonna have him "Lie in State" for a viewing at a former Keating Savings and Loan bank. People can tape $20s to his corpse. Fake Russians hookers will pee on him and a copy of the fake Steele Dossier he was pushing can be buried with him. Goober Grahamnesty will be weeping more than Cindy
yeah, I detest that POS

While 'perhaps' uncharitable of me, I loathe this man. I have the occasional 'pray for sepsis' moments for this waste of flesh. I am going to consider his bout of diverticulitis as close enough.

Wrap him the NYT and throw him in the nearest landfill. Maybe pour honey on him so the ants can feast, carry bits back to their nest and he'll wipe them out.
The most recent unclassified version of the House Intel Committee's report exposes how DOJ and FBI improperly use redactions to protect people like James Comey from public scrutiny. The before/after versions show what dirty pool DOJ/FBI were playing. Examples forthcoming...
Compare the fully redacted version that came out last week to the mostly unredacted version that came out today. Do you see what DOJ/FBI tried to cover up? McCabe said they hadn't substantiated anything against Flynn, and the ambush of Flynn at the WH was directed by Comey. pic.twitter.com/6Fc9U3kVwM
