[10News] Google fired at least 20 more workers in the aftermath of protests over technology the company is supplying the Israeli government amid the Gaza war, bringing the total number of terminated staff to more than 50, a group representing the workers said.
It's the latest sign of internal turmoil at the tech giant centered on “Project Nimbus,” a $1.2 billion contract signed in 2021 for Google and Amazon to provide the Israeli government with cloud computing and artificial intelligence services.
Workers held sit-in protests last week at Google offices in New York and Sunnyvale, California. The company responded by calling the police, who made arrests.
The group organizing the protests, No Tech For Apartheid, said the company fired 30 workers last week — higher than the initial 28 they had announced.
Then, on Tuesday night, Google fired “over 20” more staffers, “including non-participating bystanders during last week’s protests,” said Jane Chung, a spokeswoman for No Tech For Apartheid, without providing a more specific number.
“Google’s aims are clear: the corporation is attempting to quash dissent, silence its workers, and reassert its power over them,” Chung said in a press release. “In its attempts to do so, Google has decided to unceremoniously, and without due process, upend the livelihoods of over 50 of its own workers.”
Or possibly Google’s senior management has finally realized that personal politics do not belong in the workplace, and so is taking the opportunity to get rid of those staffers who disagree.

Shaddup! I'll take a small fries, too. At least you're making $20 an hour now!
[SUDANTRIBUNE] South Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
President Salva Kiir has raised an alarm over the war in Sudan, saying the country should not be allowed to split. I thought South Sudan was the first phase of Sudan's disintegration?
"Sudan is too important, a country, in the African context, that cannot be abandoned to be consumed by its internal conflict. It can not be allowed to disintegrate", said Kiir.
He made the remarks during a visit of his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa where they discussed the status of implementation of the September 2018 peace agreement.
South Africa, Uganda, and Sudan were guarantors of the deal. The African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... entrusted the five member countries with periodic review and evaluation of the status of the agreement. This committee, known as C5, comprises Algeria, Rwanda, Nigeria, Tanzania, and South Africa as the chair.
The South Sudanese leader explained that Sudan was a buffer zone of turmoil in Africa for it to be allowed to be consumed by its internal conflict.
He did not suggest what the continent should do.
"And as you know, Sudan is a buffer between the two zones of turmoil in Africa and if it is to be allowed to be consumed by its internal conflict, I think the whole of the heart of Africa and maybe the whole of Africa will be bleeding", he warned.
Kiir explained where the two zones exist and how internal conflicts have been negatively affecting regional peace and stability over past decades.
"The first zone, from these two zones extends from Libya to the Great Lakes region. This zone has been experiencing perennial conflicts emanating from legitimate political cases. Nobody can dismiss the genuineness of these conflicts in the region. For example, there is political opposition in Chad. It has its genuine political reasons for existence. There was a conflict in Darfur which we addressed with the signing of the 2020 Juba Peace Agreement but this agreement was affected by the eruption of the current conflict between the rapid support force and the Sudan armed forces. the implementation has now stalled and the signatories of the agreement are now divided in this fight. Some are with Sudan armed forces and others have taken a neutral position. there is another in Central Africa Republic," said Kiir.

Kiir has great difficulty simply in maintaining the integrity of the South Sudan. In fact it should be divided in three; the west Dinkaland; the east Nuerland, the south Equatoria.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The head of the national negotiating delegation, Muhammad Abdusalam, said on Tuesday that “America cannot continue to rule the region with iron and fire.”
Abdusalam added in his account on the “X” platform that the American brutality carried out by Zionism against the Gaza Strip is destined to be broken and defeated.

It doesn't. It constantly hampers Israel while sucking up to you animals.
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has rejected accusations from Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... that it has been financing the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group involved in a year-long conflict with the Sudanese army.
The denial comes after Sudan’s representative to the United Nations ...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society... , al-Harith Idris, called on the Security Council to condemn the UAE for allegedly supplying the RSF with weapons, vehicles and financial support.
In a letter to the Security Council, UAE Assistant Foreign Minister Lana Nusseibeh called the accusations "baseless" and an attempt to distract from the humanitarian crisis caused by the fighting.
The letter emphasized that the UAE does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and remains committed to a peaceful resolution.
However, it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... the UN Security Council has yet to rule on Sudan’s official complaint against the UAE, filed in March.
The complaint alleges UAE involvement in escalating the conflict and supplying military equipment through Chad.
Both sides in the Sudanese conflict have been criticized for prolonging the fighting, which has caused immense suffering and regional instability.
UAE has called for an immediate end to hostilities and a return to negotiations.
Meanwhile, ...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's gun out of his hand...... Sudan has rejected the UAE’s participation in the upcoming Jeddah forum, where the two warring parties are expected to resume peace talks.

[IsraelTimes] ’The terrorist threat is serious at this moment,’ agency head says
Western intelligence prevented at least 10 jihadist attacks across Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... last year, and the current Israel-Hamas ...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... war has increased the threat of further attacks, Dutch intelligence agency AIVD said on Tuesday.
The foiled attacks included a plan to stab people at random and preparations for an assault on specific buildings and events, the AIVD said in its annual report, without elaborating.
"There were two mobilizing issues: The destruction of Korans in the Netherlands and other European countries and the conflict between Israel and Hamas," the Dutch agency said.
"The terrorist threat is serious at this moment," the agency’s director-general, Erik Akerboom, said.
Akerboom said he is particularly concerned about big events, noting that the agency is working closely with French authorities to prevent incidents during the Gay Paree Olympics this summer.
Earlier this month, four teenagers were arrested in Germany for suspected planning of Islamist terror attacks on churches and synagogues.
Sweden raised its terror alert in August to the second-highest level, after Koran burning
...One of the basic tenets of Islam is that once a Koran has been printed it is expected to last for all time, no matter how old, ratty, and smelly other, lesser holy books may become. Should it actually become necessary to put a Koran out of its misery there is a ritual that includes extensive charivari, featuring long drawn-wailing and head bonking, ritual wife beating, and the sacrifice of dozens of women's noses and pubic lips. When the actual disposal has been completed there is a prescribed period of celebratory gun sex with the expectation of a minimum of two hundred casualties. Should actual infidels dispose of a Koran, Islamic custom calls for three weeks of rioting and a minimum of three dozen dead, which is a holdover from the days of Moloch worship.... s and other acts in the country targeting the holy book of Islam outraged Moslems and triggered threats from jihadists.
In October, two Swedish soccer fans were rubbed out in Brussels, allegedly by a man who identified himself as a member of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... jihadist group.
Also in October, a 20-year-old man fatally stabbed a teacher and gravely maimed two other people in an attack at a school in the northern French city of Arras, in what French President Emmanuel Macron condemned as "barbaric Islamic terrorism."
The AIVD did not say how many of the foiled jihadist attacks had occurred since October 7.
In December, the Dutch counterterrorism agency increased the country’s threat alert to its second-highest level because of concerns about the Islamic State group’s Khorasan affiliates, Akerboom said. IS-K, a Central Asian affiliate, was responsible for the attack at a suburban Moscow concert hall that killed at least 133 people in March.
According to the new report, "global jihadism has been the greatest terrorist threat for years in the Netherlands." Incidents such as the one last April, when an anti-Islam activist tore pages from the Koran in front of the Dutch parliament building, put the Netherlands on the map of targets.
Activity during World War II
After Nazi Germany invaded the Netherlands in May 1940 Van Beek was among many Dutch the Germans tried to recruit. He avoided the recruitment and eventually joined the Dutch resistance.[2] Using forged identity papers he was able to help civilians and downed Allied pilots escape the Netherlands. Among those he helped escape was a P-51 pilot from Wisconsin, Lieutenant Howard Edward Moebius.[2][3][4][5] For his efforts he earned decorations from the governments of Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands, and the United States of America. In 1999 he was recognized as an Aid Giver by the Shoah Foundation[1] established by Steven Spielberg. "For his heroism and service to the United States of America during World War II" he was entered into the Congressional Record of July 24, 2012, by Idaho Congressman Raúl Labrador.[2]
Life after World War II
Van Beek emigrated to the United States in 1948 and in 1954 moved to Idaho with his wife Zwaantje, where they started a dairy farm. The farm went into foreclosure in 1984 and after years of legal proceedings with the Farmers Home Administration; they were evicted in 1994.[6][7] In 1995 he invented a hatchet used by firefighters and rescue workers.[8][9] He continued inventing tools including the "Trucker's Friend" which he exclusively licensed to Innovation Factory.[10][11] He died on November 14, 2015, in Boise, Idaho.[12]
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]… concert hall massacre which left 144 people dead: 'We are increasingly concerned'
The FBI director has issued a stark warning about the heightened possibility of a coordinated terror attack in the US
Christopher Wray told NBC such an attack 'may be not that different from what you saw against the concert hall in Russia' by ISIS-K
The FBI had 4,000 international terrorism investigations open at the end of the 2023 fiscal year
The FBI had 4,000 international terrorism investigations open at the end of the 2023 fiscal year, according to Wray's testimony. Wray told NBC the terror threat for the US has increased following Hamas' deadly attack on Israel on October 7.
'We thought that even before October 7' he explained 'that the terrorism threat was already elevated.
'Post-October 7 it has gone to a whole other level.'
Speaking about the increasingly hostile international environment and the potential spill over of terror Wray added: 'Whether it's the threat from China, Russia, Iran, [there are] terrorism threats both foreign terrorism threats and domestic terrorist threats.'
Wray, who was appointed by Trump in 2017, has been campaigning in Congress to receive more funding for his agency. The FBI's fiscal 2024 budget fell $500 million short of what was needed to maintain its current functions, Reuters reported.
Wray and the FBI have been a target for former president Trump's ire, arguing that they have unfairly targeted him in investigations. Trump recently called on Congress to slash the agency's funding, while calling the FBI and the Justice Department as 'vicious monsters.'
The increasingly heated attacks on the bureau have led to a rise in attacks on its employees and buildings, according to Reuters.
'We have seen a substantial jump in threats towards FBI personnel and facilities from fiscal year 2022 to fiscal year 2023,' Wray told Congress.
Adding: 'In fact, we created a dedicated unit to try to deal with those issues.'
Islamic State claimed responsibility for the March attack on Crocus City Hall. IS released shocking footage of the terrorists firing indiscriminately into the crowd of 6,000 inside the concert hall.
Four suspects were arrested hours after the attack and appeared to have been beaten before appearing before a Russian court. Footage of brutal interrogation sessions by the Russian security forces appeared online with reports that at least one of the suspects suffered electric shocks, the BBC reported.
President Vladimir Putin said 'we know that the crime was committed by the hands of radical Islamists, followers of an ideology that the Islamic world itself has been fighting against for centuries'.
That was initially. Later Russia reported that the four captured Tajiks admitted during interrogation that they were hired for a laughable sum, and the paymaster was Ukraine.

He also met with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in the Pentagon where Sudani expressed "Iraq's interest in acquiring expertise, arms, and experience, emphasizing the importance of security partnership, especially given the current regional conditions that require stability and prevention of escalation," according to a statement from his office.
Yehia Rasool, spokesperson for Sudani, told Rudaw that the Iraqi delegation signed a nearly half a billion dollar deal to equip the Iraqi armed forces.
Rasool described Sudani’s trip as a "turning point in relations with the United States, within the Strategic Framework Agreement."

The aid drop comes as satellite photos appear to show a new compound of tents being built near Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip as the Israeli military continues to signal it plans an offensive targeting the city of Rafah.
Israel has said it plans to evacuate civilians from Rafah during an anticipated offensive on the southern city, where hundreds of thousands of people have taken refuge during the war, now in its seventh month.
On Saturday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a $26 billion aid package that includes around $9 billion in humanitarian assistance for Gaza, which experts say is on the brink of famine, as well as billions for Israel.
The war was sparked by the unprecedented Oct. 7 raid into southern Israel in which Hamas ...a regional Iranian catspaw,... and other bandidosgunnies killed around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped around 250 hostages.
Israel says bandidosgunnies are still holding around 100 hostages and the remains of more than 30 others.
The Israel-Hamas war has killed more than 34,000 Paleostinians, according to local health officials, at least two-thirds of them children and women.
It has devastated Gaza’s two largest cities and left a swath of destruction.
Around 80% of the territory’s population have fled to other parts of the besieged coastal enclave.

[IsraelTimes] During visit to Pakistan, Raisi says ’Zionist regime’ will be destroyed if Israel attacks, vows to continue supporting ’the Palestinian resistance’
An Israeli attack on Iranian territory could radically change dynamics and result in there being nothing left of the "Zionist regime," Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi was quoted as saying on Tuesday by the official IRNA news agency.
Raisi began a three day visit to Pakistain on Monday, and has vowed to boost trade between the neighboring nations to $10 billion a year.
The two Moslem neighbors are seeking to mend ties after unprecedented tit-for-tat military strikes this year.

"Such a broad and damaging attack would have been far harder for Iran to overlook, increasing the chances of a forceful Iranian counterattack," the paper said.
Israel has not officially acknowledged responsibility for the counterstrike, though several of its leaders have intimated responsibility. Iran has played down the significance of the response and not directly blamed Israel, which the Times said was being interpreted as "Iranian reluctance to respond."

But then there is the question:
Is that what the DC Swamp's M.I.C. wants?
