[ToloNews] Two prison guards were killed and two others were maimed after a number of prisoners at Gardez prison tried to revolt and escape from the facility, said the Ministry of Interior.
Two prisoners were also maimed in the incident, which is now under control, said the ministry.
Abdullah Hasrat, a front man for the Paktia governor, confirmed reports of fighting at the Gardez prison in Paktia, and said the shooting started after the Taliban ...Arabic for students... prisoners at the facility took one police officer hostage and then started firing the weapon they had seized from the police officer.
Hasrat said that security forces arrived on the scene and the situation is under control.
Taj Mohammad Mangal, a member of Paktia provincial council, said that some high profile members of the Taliban apparently escaped as a result of the incident, but this has not been confirmed.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ansarallah forces announced on Friday that their air defenses shot down an Arab Coalition aircraft along the Saudi border with the Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... i governorate of Sa’ada.
Citing the Ansarallah forces, the Saba News Agency reported that "the air defenses managed to shoot down a spy plane belonging to the coalition while carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of the Razih district (west of Saada)."
The Ansarallah forces did not provide additional details about the operation.
At the same time, al-Masirah TV reported that the Arab Coalition launched attacks on the Razih District of Yemen, which is a violation of the ceasefire that was recently established.
Since the start of the ceasefire, the warring parties in Yemen have accused each other of violating the ceasefire by launching attacks in different parts of the country.
The ceasefire was established on Thursday after the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... requested a halt to the violence in Yemen, as the country faces the potential spread of the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...

[DAWN] Authorities in Bangladesh have executed a killer of the country’s independence leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, nearly 45 years after the brutal liquidation, a prison official said.
Abdul Majed, a former military captain, was hanged at the central jail at Keraniganj near the capital, Dhaka, just one minute past Saturday midnight, said Inspector General of Prisons Brig Gen A.K.M. Mustafa Kamal Pasha.
He was arrested in Dhaka on Tuesday, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said, adding that the arrest was "the biggest gift" for Bangladesh this year.
Majed had publicly announced his involvement in the liquidation and had reportedly been hiding in India for many years. He recently returned to Bangladesh.
The execution took place after President M Abdul Hamid rejected a clemency filed by Majed, seeking mercy. His wife and other family members visited him for last time on Saturday.
Majed is one of a dozen defendants whose death sentence ...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead... s were upheld by the country’s Supreme Court in 2009. A trial court in 1998 had sentenced them to death for their involvement in the Aug 15, 1975, killing of Rahman and most of his family members by a group of army officials.

Crime was 45 years ago, conviction 22 years ago, the guy was probably coming home to die anyway. Still, 4 days from cuffs to gallows? Impressive.

The story is the guy woke up sitting in a rickshaw in the middle of Dhaka, surrounded by Bangladeshi police. Looks like a rendition operation by Indian intelligence agencies.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Heavy festivities were reported on Saturday between the Pak and Indian armies at the Line of Control (LoC) that separates the two countries in the disputed Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... region.
According to the official media wing of the Pak military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indian military deliberately targeted the border region with mortar and artillery fire.
"Indian troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations during the last 24 hours using artillery and heavy mortars in Sharda, Dhudnial and Shahkot Sectors along the LOC deliberately targeting the civilian population," a statement issued by ISPR reads.
According to the ISPR, Indian forces were engaged in the "indiscriminate fire of heavy weapons, which injured four civilians, including a 15-year-old girl."
"Pakistain Army troops responded effectively with matching calibre, targeted those Indian Army posts which initiated fire," ISPR added.
The Indian Ministry of Defense has yet to issue a statement regarding today’s festivities; however, over the last five days, they have accused the Pak Armed Forces of allowing bandidoshard boyz to attack their army near the LoC.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd al-Sha’abi) and the Iraqi Army began the second phase of their military operation along the borders of Jordan and Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... on Friday.
"The second phase will focus on four main axes, as the first axis will clear the border between Iraq and Jordan with support from the second axis, which will head towards the Iraqi-Saudi border strip towards potential targets," al-Sumaria TV reported, quoting the Hashd al-Sha’abi commander, Qassem Musleh.
Musleh continued that "the second phase will focus on vital targets and areas that have not entered before, where the third and fourth axis will head towards the Houran Valley and a number of areas that are described as difficult due to their geographical nature that the enemy exploits to hide and camouflage from our forces."
The operation’s commander indicated that "the process continues in coordination with the Iraqi Army and tribal forces.
Despite the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... ’s (ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) defeat in late 2017, the group has terrorized the country with their sleeper cells, which have thrived in the desert regions of Iraq and Syria.

The main settlement in Wadi Hauran (Houran Valley) is Ar-Rutbah, an Iraqi town and seat of Ar-Rutba District. Its name means 'wet land' in Arabic because it can receive 114.3 mm of rain per year. Its total current population is 22,370 inhabitants, all of them Arabs and Sunnis.
The wadi has three dams to collect rainwater for grazing sheep and camels during the summer: the Hussayniyah dam built in the 1990s, the Rutba dam, and the Hauran barrage.
