[NBC] Mexico's President López Obrador declines to impose economic sanctions on Russia
The latest action from the Mexican president stands in contrast to the international sanctions imposed on Russia for President Vladimir Putin’s actions.
"We are not going to take any sort of economic reprisal because we want to have good relations with all the governments in the world," López Obrador told a news conference.
López Obrador’s position stands in contrast to the international sanctions imposed on Russia for President Vladimir Putin’s actions.
Russia has built strong links to various governments in Latin America, especially authoritarian administrations in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, but its ties with Mexico are seen to be limited due to the strong U.S.-Mexico relations.
The Mexican and U.S. economies are deeply intertwined. But leftist leader López Obrador has at times had testy relations with the United States and has criticized U.S. foreign policy.
López Obrador’s comments came in response to a question about the interest in Mexico of Russia’s second-largest oil producer Lukoil and Russian airline Aeroflot.

Latin America will follow. China will side with Russia as well. The world is changing and not as our political media is trying to manage. Big fat black eye on swamp people.

If all the global economics experts who have started commenting here since the Ukraine thingee began are correct about America collapsing in a pathetic heap, the Mexicans are just gonna love what that does for their economy too.

This will work out well. Whatever Putin bans to the US Mexico can import. With a slight mark up ship to US.
[EpochTimes] Joshua A. James, one of the Oath Keepers charged with trying to prevent the counting of Electoral College votes at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to seditious conspiracy and obstruction of an official government proceeding, and will face 7.25 to 9 years in prison when he is sentenced this summer.
As part of a plea agreement, James, 34, of Arab, Alabama, will cooperate with Sherlocks and could sit for questioning before a grand jury on the role the Oath Keepers played at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
The guilty pleas are an important win for federal prosecutors, who first introduced sedition-related charges into the investigation after the one-year anniversary of Jan. 6. As part of his pleas, James admitted that he was part of a seditious conspiracy that had the goal of disrupting the certification by Congress of the Electoral College votes.

Which is exactly why the Jan 6 people were held in solitary confinement without a hearing or bail - nevermind a speedy trial. Just needed for someone to 'crack'.
Whatever happened on the actual, organized, assault on the White House while Trump was President by BLM/Antifa?

Actually I think the whole Jan. 6 thing is dead.
You will notice its conspicuous absence from Biden's speech.

I think the dems understand it will be dead after the house flips in November and they are in the expectation lowering phase now. The people who were rolled up will have to hope there will be pardons at some point, which may not be easy even for a Republican president who wins in a landslide.

The basis for the 14th Amendment ploy needed this, and the abhorrent and criminal treatment of the J6 prisoners was the leverage to crack someone. The guy who just committed suicide took an off ramp to save his soul, and this guy broke. Tragic to see this Lubyanka style treatment in America, but it is the nature of our home-grown socialists to emulate their mentors. The Deep State and the Magic Kenyan's minions have turned much of our government into believing they rule, not serve, the public. The Augean Stables await a deep cleansing to end the stench of corruption on the Potomac it seems...

Dug a little more...
The 106-page indictment includes charges alleging the ComEd bribery scheme, a deal on a parcel of land in Chinatown, and other alleged wrongdoing...
[Zero Hedge] Some folks made about average, some lost some, a few lost a lot. Lots of charts, graphs, and specifics at the link. One item of interest: Nancy Pelosi made a 48% return last year investing $970K in NVIDIA in July and $695K in Roblox in March. What’s even more interesting is that these returns are just considering the stocks she bought last year and not including the options returns [8].
But on the matter of whether to restrict trading by lawmakers, this was Pelosi’s response
We are a free-market economy. They (Congress) should be able to participate in that. - Nancy Pelosi "You expect us to live on what you pay us? Have you seen my freezer??"
As I highlighted at the beginning of the article, it’s high time that we bar elected representatives from trading stocks. This would be at least a step in the right direction to gain back the trust that the general public has lost in their representatives. Until then, we can try following their trades to find that all-elusive alpha! This article from The Business Times summarized it best for me.
US Congress can trade stocks or keep the public trust. Not both

"We are a free-market economy. They (Congress) should be able to participate in that. - Nancy Pelosi"
Should be also added
Especially when we can get inside info for helping these companies.
Such a charming 'lady', isn't she?
[Zero Hedge] - Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has been accused in a new lawsuit of throwing a temper tantrum over a plan to display a Christopher Columbus statue in the city's annual Columbus parade last fall - threatening to pull the permit for the entire parade and then berating city officials in a 'hastily called Zoom meeting.'
In a lawsuit against Lightfoot and the city, Former Chicago Park District deputy general counsel George Smyrniotis says he was tasked with hammering out a deal with lawyers for an Italian American group in order to try and settle a lawsuit over Lightfoot's removal of Columbus statues from the city. According to Timothy King, then the district’s top lawyer, and then-superintendent Michael Kelly, the lawsuit needed to disappear "as soon as possible."
Smyrniotis says that after hammering out the deal to display the Columbus statue in the annual parade (last, and covered up until the very end), Lightfoot flipped out.
During the contentious Zoom call with Park District Officials, Lighfoot "proceeded to berate and defame" the lawyers for the city - reportedly asking "Where did you go to law school? Did you even go to law school? Do you even have a law license?"
She then told them that they had to submit their pleadings to a city lawyer for approval, and were told "not to do a fucking thing with that statue without my approval," according to the Chicago Tribune.
"Get that fucking statue back before noon tomorrow or I am going to have you fired," Lightfoot said, per the complaint.
Smyrniotis then says Lightfoot made obscene comments to he and King - calling them "dicks," and asking "What the fuck were you thinking?"
"You make some kind of secret agreement with Italians. ... You are out there stroking your dick over the Columbus statue, I am trying to keep Chicago police officers from being shot and you are trying to get them shot," she allegedly said, adding "My dick is bigger than yours and the Italians, I have the biggest dick in Chicago."

Mrs Mundi has an especially white-hot hate for women in power who routinely take a big Cleveland Steamer over all the actual professional women out there who put in the effort every day.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
