President Obama reportedly is considering nominating Nevada Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval to the Supreme Court to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia.
The nomination of a Republican would be seen as an attempt by Obama to break the Senate GOP blockade of any of his choices. Just to send the Pubs into a frenzy.
However,
Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval took himself out of consideration for appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday. Link

Sandoval says he doesn't want to be a pawn in this political chessmatch.

Even among Democratic party operatives, she’s acknowledged as “awkward and uninspiring on the stump,” carrying “Bill’s baggage with none of Bill’s warmth.” New York magazine described her “failing to demonstrate the most elementary political skills, much less those learned at Toastmasters or Dale Carnegie.” Last year the White House was panicking at her levels of electoral incompetence, her questionable decision making, and her inclination for taking sleazy shortcuts.
So the Donk party is out of control, too? Overrun by a personality cult?

On the other hand - "I continue to believe that Trump will not be president. And the reason is because I have a lot of faith in the American people," said Obama. They recognize that being president is a serious job. It's not hosting a talk show or a reality show, it's not promotion, it's not marketing, it's hard. It's not a matter of pandering and doing whatever will get you in the news on a given day."
I wish I was clever enough to make up this stuff.

Says a Marxist who lied his way into the job. As for the media (aka Party Operatives), they're not fooling enough people this time around.

Polls and media heads have done their best to run him into the ground and he just gets stronger. They have had him fail every week since he announced. He is not part of the inner circle. The IVY league born wealthy crowd. Money control people have gone to Rubio who in my opinion is a RINO to do their bidding(cross the isle, accommodate). I would love to see Trump clean house. Bush was Mr. nice guy and left Democrat holdovers. They stabbed him in the back as often as they could. Trump is showing them how ineffective they are and they don't like looking unable to control outcomes.
Trump or Cruz may have a chance to stop the descent if it's at all possible. I think the Cruz wants to. I'm not sure about Trump. The rest of the crew I'm sure of.
Rubio will try and continue the slow inexorable descent into the chaos.
Hillary and Bernie will push us off the cliff to make sure the bottom is reached as fast and as fatally as possible.

Example: Trump mob connections that are not being asked by the big progressive media outlets... yet. Conservatives asked these LAST SUMMER year and they go unanswered and unaddressed by press. And folks like some suppoerters here ar so enamoured of the tough talk they seem oblivious to the glaring flaws that will eventually bring Trump down in the general election.
Read up, there are important questions around Trump.
This is the best overall summary by a real conservative, Dana Loesch, as to why no personal that cares for this nation should be supporting Donald Trump

Just on queue. Any businessman doing business in NYC in the 60s, 70s, and 80s probably touch or were entangled in some part of the mob. Anything like Kennedy the Martyr and the mob? K Street is just another mob but with better suits and lawyers.
Note for you sunshine - it's not a constitutional republic anymore. It's an oligarchy. You have your choice of Pompey, Caesar or Crassus.

Of course, the American people are still jittery about socialism. But they're less jittery then they used to be, and Bernie does a good job portraying Socialism as being about little more then paid family leave and sickdays.

I don't trust anyone who spends much time dogging Trump while not addressing Hillary, Bernie, and Obama.
One of those 4 folks loves this country--the other three don't. You don't have to like Trump, but there are better uses of one's time than dogging him. I'd prefer Cruz, but I'll gladly accept Trump if it means a White House free of Obama, Clinton, and Sanders.
[Fox] One upstate New York city is planning an unconventional approach to combating a growing heroin epidemic: Letting addicts shoot up on government property under the supervision of medical professionals.
Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick unveiled his controversial proposal to open a supervised injection facility during an interview with The Associated Press released Monday. The facility would provide a space for users to inject pre-purchased drugs with clean needles under the watchful eye of healthcare professionals who could, in theory, keep them safe and direct them to addiction services.

No ethical "medical professional" will be associated with this. And people like me will challenge any who do.

Maybe it's difficult for local authorities to know what to do if they have a crisis on their hands and they are at their wits end. At the national level, securing the border would be a good place to start.

You can't stop people from doing stupid things to their own bodies. Enabling doesn't seem smart. Spiking the (illegal) supply with a drug that makes you feel ill might help.

their "wits end" was a very short drive

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
