[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Kansas City police have refused to rule out terrorism in the Kansas City parade shooting that injured 21, despite images showing a assault rifle at the scene.
Pictures taken at the scene show the rifle perched beside a backpack following the deadly shooting that claimed the life of one person on Wednesday.
Gunmen opened fire moments after the Kansas City Chiefs left the stage on what should have been a triumphant day for the city following their Super Bowl win.
Footage taken at the scene captured the moment the individual with the assault rifle was apprehended by a Chiefs fan. As the man is pinned to the ground, a woman can be seen grabbing the weapon and moving it away.
Those two individuals have since been identified as couple Trey and Casey Filter, who had been watching the parade with their kids when the mayhem unfolded.
As well as the Filter family, 46-year-old Paul Contreras recalled the adrenaline-fueled encounter he had when he jumped on one of the three detained gunmen.
Contreras, who attended the event with his daughter Alyssa, was caught on film by his daughter as he launched himself at the suspect.
Law enforcement officials briefed on the case told NBC that they believe the shooting is criminal in nature, but is not believed to be linked to terrorism.
Lots of photos, quotes from the heroes, even photos of men who might possbly be the shooters.
What we know about Wednesday's mass shooting
The shooting took place outside Union Station in Kansas City, Mo., at the conclusion of a Super Bowl victory parade honoring the Kansas City Chiefs.
Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a disc jockey and a married mother of two children, was killed in the shooting.
21 others were wounded during the incident.
Several children were treated for gunshot wounds at a local hospital but are expected to recover.
Police took three people into custody Wednesday but continue to investigate the shooting.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been disclosed.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL released statements expressing sadness over the "senseless" shooting.
President Biden was briefed on the events and released a statement calling for stronger gun restrictions.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said over 800 law enforcement officers were stationed around the parade, and Gooch said he and his family's safety barely crossed their minds as they headed for the family event.
'(It was) just a bunch of happy people,' he said - before adding that he ominously grew fearful around 15 minutes before the shooting began.
'I got suspicious of a certain group of people that were there,' he said.
'We were standing on the side of the stage where the shooting ended up happening, and right before it ended up happening, there was this group dressed in all black.
'It was about four, five, six kids, or they looked like kids, with black on, black masks, and they disappeared into the crowd.'
And an update from my Yahoo link, above:
Police say 'dispute between several people' led to gunfire at Chiefs Super Bowl parade: 3 people, including 2 juveniles, were detained in connection with the shooting near Union Station that left 22 injured, police say.
Yahoo has the same witness account about the idiot suddenly shooting while spinning in a circle.
[FoxNews] The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., says three of its officers were shot Wednesday by a suspect who remains barricaded inside a home.
Police Chief Pamela Smith
...the first African American woman named permanent chief of MPD; she no doubt is also outstanding in other ways...
"Historic™"
said officers who arrived at a residence in the 5000 block of Hanna Place around 7:30 a.m. to serve an arrest warrant for cruelty to animals were met with gunfire when they attempted to gain entry, according to Fox5 DC.
Over a cruelty to animals call? Just how unusual had they been?
Smith added that the suspect remains barricaded inside the property in the southeastern part of the city.
In a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Smith said police are still trying to determine who the suspect is and that he has sounded "very agitated" at times during his ongoing conversations with officers at the scene.
"We have not made visual contact with him since this morning when the incident occurred," she also said.
The shooting left three officers with "gunshot wound injuries that appear non-life-threatening," a police spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "All three have been transported to an area hospital for treatment."
"A fourth officer has also been transported to an area hospital for minor injuries. This officer did not sustain gunshot wound injuries," the spokesperson added.
Smith said later Wednesday that the officers were "in good spirits" when she visited them at the hospital.
Multiple roads have now been closed around the shooting scene as law enforcement responds to the incident. Three nearby elementary schools were also operating on an alert status, school officials say.
Smith said there would be an early dismissal from Kipp DC's Leap Academy beginning at 2 p.m. Parents were told to arrive at 46th St SE and Benning Rd SE to pick up their children. Officers would take care of children whose parents could not arrive at that time.
A gunman who shot three D.C. coppers outside a home in Southeast D.C. Wednesday morning surrendered after barricading inside the home for about 13 hours and continuing to fire shots, multiple police sources confirmed. The officers are expected to recover.
Police arrested 46-year-old Julius James and charged him with cruelty to animals. Charges for shooting the officers are pending.
Up to 30 dogs were found in the home, requiring three Humane Rescue Alliance vans to transport them.
The officers were serving an arrest warrant for cruelty to animals when James shot up about 7:30 a.m., police said.

[CBS] London — A judge in London on Thursday threw out a lawsuit by former U.S. President Donald Trump accusing a former British spy of making "shocking and scandalous claims" that were false and harmed his reputation. Judge Karen Steyn said there were "no compelling reasons" to let the case Trump filed against Orbis Business go to trial.
The company was founded by Christopher Steele, who created a dossier in 2016 that contained rumors and uncorroborated allegations that caused a political storm just before Trump's inauguration.
Primary source of Steele dossier acquitted of lying to FBI
Steele, who once ran the Russia desk for Britain's Secret Intelligence Service, also known as MI6, was paid by Democrats to compile research that included salacious allegations that Russians could potentially use to blackmail Trump.
CBS News correspondent Imtiaz Tyab said the court was told during a hearing in late 2023 that Trump was bringing his case over two memos in the dossier, which claimed he had taken part in "sex parties" in St. Petersburg, Russia, and engaged in "golden showers" with prostitutes in Moscow.
Trump called the dossier "fake news" and a political witch hunt, and in his legal filings he accused Steele of making false claims and sought unspecified damages from Orbis for allegedly violating British data protection laws.
[DefensePost] Guyana has announced a major investment in modern military weapons and equipment as tensions with neighboring Venezuela continue to soar.
In December last year, the two sides signed a Brazil-brokered agreement stating they would never use force and would refrain from threatening each other.
However, allegations [actually satellite imagery shows it clearly]
have surfaced that the Venezuelan military is on the move again, expanding its bases and deploying more soldiers near its border with Guyana.

Guyana is a member of the Commonwealth but the days of Lady Thatcher are distant memory. The US has only dusty briefing books somewhere in the Pentagon basement to remind them, if they looked, about the idea of "our hemisphere" and some guy named Monroe.
Venezuela has a stiffening array of Cuban and Nicaraguan allies, especially in the intelligence and internal security augmentations, that might make a go of the complex logistics and engineering ops needed to annex the western half of the country militarily. Fortunately, they have recently gotten a cash infusion from the foggy bottom morons in Washington.
[LawEnforcementToday] A state-sponsored hacking group supported by China known as "Volt Typhoon" has been identified by federal authorities as the group targeting U.S. critical infrastructure by exploiting the vulnerabilities of outdated networking switches." They are mainly attacking older Cisco and Netgear Routers that have not had security patches applied, or cannot be secured because the router is no longer supported. In short: The PRC/CCP are using Home and Businesses systems to attack the US infrastructure.

Since ISP's offer home and small business connections at 4+ MPS now, and hackers know many such used routers once setup are seldom checked. Hackers know they and added safety margin in using theses as a relayed step in their endeavors.
So checking router log files daily for:
* Attempted / Failed and successful accesses,
* Outside Router Admin connections,
* DoS attacks and Port Scans,
* New Port Forwarding / Port Triggering settings,
* Unauthorized Wireless access or attempts,
* Log file resets to cover connection tracks?
* and more
NOTE: Many home and small business routers allow for hourly, daily or weekly emailing of the log files and it is worth the 5 mins a day at the least to CYA.
Much like writing software, making APPS, building web pages...we, the industry, have made networking too easy for the great unwashed. Not 1 in 10/100 home office owner checks their log files.
Who knows how to get to the traffic logs on their cell phone?
[IsraelTimes] Italian police raid the homes of 24 people under investigation for promoting fascism ...a political system developed in Italy, symbolized by the Roman fasces -- thin reeds, each flimsy in itself but unbreakable when bound into a bundle. Its distinguishing philosophical feature is the Corporate State. The word is nowadays thrown around by all sorts of people who have no idea what they're talking about... during a gathering at a restaurant in the Jewish quarter of Ferrara during which they lauded dictators Benito Mussolini ...former dictator of Italia. He perfected the idea of the corporate state and was all the vogue in intellectual circles until he lined up with Adolf in the Second World War. He wanted Italians to be figli de la lupa, and like the sons of wolves they turned on him when they finally got the chance. He ended his days dangling by his heels in a public square next to his mistress... and Adolf Hitler ...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days as a politician somebody doesn't like... The suspects were all residents of the northern Italian city in their 20s and 30s who attended a December 20 gathering where they passed out material that not only praised Hitler and Mussolini, but also insulted Anne Frank and the Black Italian athlete Fiona May, says investigator Andrea Zaccone.
The group threatened to kill other diners who interrupted their racist choruses, and refused to stop even after police responded to complaints, he says.
The suspects are under investigation for the charges of inciting racial hatred and apology of fascism, a crime in Italia that exults Italia’s fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... past and seeks to revive the fascist party.
During raids, police recovered orange prison uniforms, a fake pistol, chains, knives and batons as well as printed material, including calendars, with Mussolini’s image. Electronic devices seized in the raids are being studied to see if the incident was a one-off or part of a larger pattern.
[Gateway] George Soros, the left’s favorite billionaire, is buying up American radio stations by the hundreds, ahead of the 2024 election.
This is obviously part of a strategy, because that’s what Soros does. He hatches backdoor plans to exert influence over American politics. A few years back, he pumped a ton of cash into district attorney races across the country and we all know how that worked out.
This is his new plan. Could there be more to this than gaining media influence?
The Washington Times reports:
George Soros scoops up 220 U.S. radio stations ahead of 2024 election
George Soros has purchased a potentially controlling stake in America’s second-largest chain of radio stations.
According to bankruptcy filings cited Wednesday in the New York Post, his Soros Fund Management has bought $400 million of debt in the Audacy chain.
The Post reported that the Fund’s stake comes to about 40% of Audacy’s debt, at a value of about 50 cents on the dollar.
"Although not a majority, [that] could yield effective control of the media giant when it emerges from bankruptcy," the Post wrote.
A Republican insider "close to the situation" told the Post that Mr. Soros could be making the election-year purchase in a bid to influence public opinion.

Soros is suffering from... 'old man think.' What's next on his list, automotive inner tubes ?
Atlanta region radio stations likely not an issue. Nobody but democrats listen to that trash anyway. In a few more years. radios will only be found in antique malls.

Just a few days ago my Sirius radio in my car sounded terrible so I flipped over to AM radio and pressed the SCAN button. More than 1/2 the AM stations were Spanish. The remainder were split between sports and news. I suspect Soros is targeting the Hispanic and illegal immigrant voters.
#4
A preponderant number of stations are FM. Broadcasts in the main are sports and modern music. With the exception of New York City, no major station is passing hands. If offered, I can't think of a savvy investor who would buy.

A few days ago I posted an article titled Who Killed Rock and Roll? Audacy was not mentioned in that article, it was all about Clear Channel and Cumulus. My impression of the people who run those companies was, although they don't know jack about music, they probably weren't deliberately trying to kill it, the assumption being they wanted to make money but they're tone deaf reptiles. Soros is a whole other basket of snakes. Like Bezos, he can afford to lose money for the sake of globalist propaganda.
Airandee has a likely theory at #2. If that's what Soros is trying to do we can only hope that Hispanics don't like listening to bullshit any more than anybody else. Anybody remember Air America?

I listen to a Mexico music radio station. Plenty of good music and hosting, but every news update there for a while was Anti-DeSantos this and that during the DIEsney GRQLMER+ fights.
That is neither local news or flavor, so that is a national syndicate news release probably required by corporate for their licensing.

Heh.
But yes, northern Mexico style, as opposed to any of the Central, South, or Caribbean preferences. I understand the lyrics better than Pop Country.
