[GEO.TV] A mother of the Oxford High School shooter was handed four counts of manslaughter unleashed by her son in Michigan in November 2021, as she failed to prevent the mass shooting that claimed her son's four classmates, the court decision read Tuesday.
Jennifer Crumbley and her husband James are facing separate trials for the same charges as the prosecutors' evidence suggested that she failed to stop her son from having a gun and ignoring signs of such a shooting.
Oakland County court handed Jennifer Crumbley four charges for the first time for the manslaughter carried out by her child — who is currently 17 years old.
The 45-year-old's son is in prison serving a life sentence for a shooting at Oxford High School that also injured seven.
While speaking to the jurors, the judge said this was likely "the hardest thing you've ever done".
The relatives of the victims expressed their relief over the verdict as she was handed four counts of manslaughter — each carrying a maximum sentence of 15 years.

...I don't know as this will have any real deterrent effect; the Crumbleys seem to have been unusually entitled and stupid. They will, however, have plenty of time to reflect upon their actions.
[HollywoodInToto] Cancel Culture finally comes for Mel Brooks' blistering satire on racism
Cancel Culture has wiped entire films off the map, memory-holed sitcom episodes and coaxed programmers to "warn" viewers about select stories.
Other films have watched "problematic" scenes snipped for our "protection."
It’s all happened with few, if any, objections from Hollywood, Inc. The trend gave rise to a phrase that should send chills up the spine of any self-respecting artist.
"They couldn’t make THAT today."
Yet one film has remained untouched by Cancel Culture despite being both outrageous and uncompromising. In a way, it’s the perfect example of a film woke censors would love to erase but couldn’t due to the film’s fan base.
"Blazing Saddles."
Mel Brooks’ 1974 western satire savaged racism by mocking racists without a filter. It’s considered one of the legend’s best comedies, a testament to Brooks’ creative freedom and wit.
The comedy guru is keenly aware of Cancel Culture and has repeatedly used a variation of, "They couldn’t make THAT today" to describe his film.
That’s true.
Yet there’s been no effort to censor or tweak the comedy in any fashion in the Age of Woke.
Until now.
Max, the platform that once yanked "Gone With the Wind" from its cyber-shelves, just slapped a video trigger warning on Brooks’ vision.
Anyone who wants to watch "Blazing Saddles" must endure an introduction by TCM’s Jacqueline Stewart, who joined the company in 2019 as a host and expert on film preservation and "representation."
"You’re about to watch a movie from 1974 that many consider one of the greatest comedies of all time," Stewart begins in the clip, shot in front of a background teeming with books. Ironic.
She gives a quick primer on Brooks’ satirical film canon before describing the film’s plot.
"As the storyline implies, the issue of race is front and center in ’Blazing Saddles’... and racist language and attitudes pervade the film. But those attitudes are espoused by characters who are explicitly portrayed here as narrow-minded, ignorant bigots.
"The film’s real and much more enlightened perspective is represented by the two main characters played by Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder," she says.
She later praises Brooks’ approach to satire: "Absolutely nothing is off limits and jokes can tackle any and every sensitive subject."

This is the problem with streaming. They own it, not you.

TCM insufferable hosts, and general programming, have been absolute garbage for about 5 years now.
Perhaps somebody would like to ask them who thought the blaxploitation series was a good idea, why its ok for Black Women to have their titties hanging out on regular TV? Let's talk about that hard racism of the liberals.
And yes, once again, if you don't have a copy you don't have a copy.
This is how terrible the situation is. At the end of the video, the man says that more than 100 vehicles were involved in the crash. The CCP didn't salt the roads or warn people not to go out before it snowed. In southern China, it's not often that they get heavy snow and low… https://t.co/N6aPj688skpic.twitter.com/kygfWjs9ah

The CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter was en route to Miramar in the San Diego area
Search and rescue crews are looking for a San Diego-bound military helicopter carrying five Marines that went missing Tuesday night, according to ABC News.
The CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter left Creech Air Force Base near Las Vegas and was en route to the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in the San Diego area before being "reported overdue," the report said, citing the Marines.
San Diego Sheriff's Department and Cal Fire have joined in the search Wednesday.

Vegas guy here. We had that atmospheric river from here to San Diego. Most continuous rain since I got here in 2009. I understand "can do" and all-weather etc. but someone in command should show prudence.
Today is an important day for me--I am filing a lawsuit against @lucasfilm & @Disney
After my 20 years of building a career from scratch, and during the regime of former Disney CEO Bob Chapek, Lucasfilm made this statement on Twitter, terminating me from The Mandalorian: “Gina…
... “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm & there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural & religious identities are abhorrent & unacceptable."
Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is I was being hunted down from everything I posted to every post I liked because I was not in line with the acceptable narrative of the time. My words were consistently twisted to demonize & dehumanize me as an alt right wing holy warrior. It was a bullying smear campaign aimed at silencing, destroying & making an example out of me.
The thing is I never even used aggressive language. I shared thought provoking quotes, pictures, memes & occasionally I used my own words, not with aggression but with respect & the occasional comedy to keep the mood light in dark times.
Look with your own eyes at what I posted and ask yourself, for example, where did I compare Republicans to the Jewish people in the holocaust? I didn’t. Ask yourself why they were calling me a racist, was there any merit behind that or history of it whatsoever? No. Look at why I was called a transphobe--for making droid noises from Star Wars? "Beep, bop, boop" was obviously directed to the online bullies and did not in any way denigrate transgender people.
Were my questions about masks, lockdowns & forced vaccines ok to ask & push the subject into the light? Should we have been allowed to publicly discuss those topics at that time without being harassed or censored? Absolutely.
Hollywood says they support female representation & equal rights. Why then were my male co-stars permitted to speak without harassment & re-education courses or termination, but I was not afforded the same right to exercise my freedom of speech.
Artists do not sign away our rights as American citizens when we enter into employment. I have spoken to all my co-stars since I was fired & there is nothing but care and kind words between us. I respect their right to free speech & do not have to think the same on every issue to be their friends & work with them & I know they feel the same towards me.
A couple months ago
@ElonMusk
tweeted that if you had been fired from using the platform (X) for exercising your right to free speech, he would like to offer these people legal representation. Quite the noble offer, but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought anyone would take on my case against Lucasfilm/Disney. Still, I did respond back "I think I qualify" & thousands of people agreed--but I did not expect anything.
To my surprise, a few months ago I received an email from a lawyer who had been hired by X to look into my story & many others. Turns out after sending them as much information as I could gather these past few months, my now lawyers & X believe whole-heartedly in my case & are moving forward.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude & thank you to
@ElonMusk
&
@X
for giving me an opportunity to bring my case to light.
As for me, I would love to pick up where I left off & continue my journey of creating & participating in story-telling, which is my utmost passion & everything I worked so hard for. It has been difficult to move forward with the lies & labels stuck on me, backed & encouraged by the most powerful entertainment company in the world. I am grateful someone has come to my defense in such a powerful way & look forward to clearing my name.
Thank you to all the people who have supported me & made your voices heard. I pray God blesses each & every one of you.
With love,
Gina Carano

Doomcock did an episode on this Musk rolled this out and revealed some internal Disney communications about their DEI commitments. The double reveal is the day before their earnings call. Musk took exception to Disney removing ads from X. He has Bob Iger’s outline in chalk on the pavement.

[AFRICANEWS] Kenyan cult leader Paul Mackenzie and 29 associates were charged with the murder of 191 children, whose bodies were discovered buried in a forest.
The accused denied the charges in a court in Malindi. One defendant was deemed mentally unfit for trial.
Prosecutors allege Mackenzie instructed followers to starve themselves and their children to attain heaven before the world's end, marking one of the worst cult-related tragedies in recent history.
Members of Mackenzie's Good News International Church resided in secluded settlements spanning 800 acres within Shakahola forest, where over 400 bodies were unearthed.
Mackenzie was arrested April last year and has already been charged with terrorism-related crimes, manslaughter and torture. He was also convicted in December of producing and distributing films without a licence and sentenced to 12 months in jail.
[AFRICANEWS] Zim-bob-we's ruling Zany-PF emerged winner of Saturday's (Feb.03) by-elections held in Mashonaland East province.
The party secured significant victories in several key constituencies, including Seke and Goromonzi South, and even achieved a clean sweep in the Marondera district.
When general elections were last held ZANU-PF was 10 seats short of the two-thirds majority in parliament, now after a series of disputed by-elections it has attained that goal.
Zanu PF now holds 190 seats in the National Assembly.
Securing this supermajority in the 280-member parliament, the party moves closer to changing the constitution if it wishes.
The election came amid a political crisis in the country which has been growing since the group of MPs with the main opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) had their seats declared vacant in October.
Just over two years at the helm of the Citizens Coalition for Change, opposition leader Nelson Chamisa announced on January 25 he was leaving the opposition party saying it has been "hijacked" by the ruling party.

[Regnum] In Istanbul, a man and a woman carried out an armed attack on a courthouse, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Erlikaya reported on the social network X.
“Today, at 11:46 (which coincides with Moscow time), an attempt was made to attack the security post at the entrance to the Caglayan court building,” the message says.
The attackers were neutralized. However, six people were injured in the attack, including three police officers.
The entrances and exits to the courthouse were closed. Police and medical teams were sent to the scene. In a statement, the head of the Turkish Interior Ministry said that the attackers were members of a terrorist organization.
The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
As Regnum reported, on February 1, a man broke into a factory located in the Turkish suburb of Gebze.
...a town in Kocaeli province.
Threatening with weapons, he took the people there hostage. Police blocked the streets around the enterprise.
Later, on February 2, Turkish police neutralized a man who was holding seven Procter & Gamble employees hostage in a suburb of Istanbul. The attacker had a weapon and a belt with explosives on him. All hostages were released.
The Regnum journalist is understandably confused. The P&G factory where the hostages were held is in Gebze. P&G also has a factory in Istanbul, where long ago Mr. Wife’s team developed all the Ariel laundry detergent formulas. P&G has hundreds of factories around the world, including scattered around the former Soviet Union.
[Regnum] The third attacker of the courthouse was detained in Istanbul. Sabah reported this on February 6.
The article says that the criminal was detained some time after the attack, since he was able to escape from the scene after the shooting and was injured. In addition, according to the newspaper, the number of victims in the incident increased to seven.
As reported by Regnum news agency, the incident occurred at 11:46 (which coincides with Moscow time). Initially, it was reported that two attackers fired at the guards at the entrance to the Caglayan courthouse and were eliminated by return fire.
Six casualties were reported, including three police officers.
The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the attackers were members of the DHKP-C terrorist party
... the outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front, described as a far-left Marxist organization...
recognized in Turkey, and the Istanbul prosecutor's office began an investigation into the incident.
It later became known that one of the townspeople wounded in the shootout died in the hospital, despite the efforts of doctors. The lives of the injured police officers are not in danger.
Nothing is too good for our troops, and that is what they get.
[WARZONE] Even before the entire fleet of V-22 tilt-rotor aircraft was grounded following a fatal crash of an Air Force Osprey off the coast of Japan in November, the Navy’s version was experiencing serious issues that limited its ability to fully perform its assigned missions. Those findings by the Pentagon’s top testing office come even though the Navy's former air boss called the CMV-22B a "game changer" after its first operational deployment in 2022. The Osprey grounding has also forced the Navy to resort to using its dwindling fleet of C-2A Greyhounds to perform essential Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) duties.
Problems with the ice protection system are a significant concern for the CMV-22B, but there have been several potential drawbacks with having the aircraft take over the COD role since the program's inception. Those issues include a lack of cabin pressurization. Unless its passengers and crew are on oxygen, the Osprey has to fly at lower altitudes, through poorer weather, and over long distances, at turboprop-like speeds. Being that its destination can be far out to sea with no nearby divert field, that can include being forced to fly through highly inclement weather. There are other key advantages to having the CMV-22B on the COD mission, which we will discuss in a moment.
The 44% of mission failures due to problems with the ice protection system appears to be a significant increase from what was previously known.
As we noted in the past, in February 2023, as the Navy announced the CMV-22B had obtained its Initial Operating Capability (IOC), Bloomberg News reported that the aircraft wasn’t yet "operationally suitable." That was because it had only "partially met reliability requirements," the Pentagon’s testing office said in a non-public assessment. Among the problems was that the CMV-22's ice protection system "accounted for 25% of the operational mission failures, which will result in mission aborts."
"The CMV-22B was not operationally suitable due to failures of many subsystems, with the ice protection system accounting for 44% of the total operational mission failures," the Pentagon's Office of the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation, or DOT&E, stated in its Fiscal Year 2023 annual report released last week.

It is a clever idea. There are just some problems with making it work in a way that won't kill you.
tl;dr: It is a helicopter, but with more moving parts.

Has it ever been operationally suitable?
Not for the long (20+ year) term. It was a developmental technology that hadn't worked out all the kinks yet. They have gotten a lot better with new designs based off lessons learned, but the Osprey is reaching the end of its lifespan.
