A decisive loss for Israel
Hamas has emerged from the war stronger. Now we look to Obama to repair the errors of silence
* Mousa Abu Marzook
* The Guardian, Thursday 22 January 2009
one section of Marzook's diatribe below
And to President Obama we say: the wave of hope that met your election was heavily dampened by your silence on the Gaza massacre. This was compounded by your pre-election statement siding with the Israeli settlers of Sderot.

Another "Damascus hero" who don't miss many cookouts. Looks like he brings his own bib. If the Jooooos ever come to Damascus, he'll have to fight because he probably can't fit under his bed.
Bet this puts him on the Times and Post shitlist.
There is a place in this world for Caroline Kennedy to do good work; it just isn't the U.S. Senate. The Republic is better off for her withdrawal from consideration for Hillary Clinton's seat.
Since her name was mentioned for the job, the evidence that she wouldn't fit well piled up again and again. The entire concept smacked of monarchy. She refused to disclose basic financial information. The case for her alternated between her status as "a princess", some sort of inherent governing ability locked within her genes, and constant invocations of the pleasure it would bring to ghosts and spirits. The fact that she used "you know" with great frequency while speaking wasn't inherently disqualifying, but it grated that her speech quirks were considered no big deal, while "you betcha" and a wink were considered ipso facto evidence of mental retardation.
Some New York media had begun reporting her withdrawal earlier in the evening, but Kennedy family confidants angrily dismissed the reports as smears aimed at undermining her chances.
When you're surrounded by sycophants friends whose first instinct, when you make a decision that surprises them, is to tell reporters that it must be a lie, and pointing fingers at your enemies, you're not likely to make a positive impact on our political process. Washington has seen enough blind loyalty and vindictiveness.
The next senator from New York will probably have been elected to some office at some point, and that is a good thing.

She's still got Jackie's very nice place on the Vineyard. Uncle Teddy ain't doing so good. Massachusetts is still the corporate headquarters of Kennedy Kool Aid. And it was daddy's old senate seat.
I doubt we've seen the last of her.

CNN AM > Perts - CAROLINE does not have the personal political experience to just becom a US Senator overnite. SPECULATION > running in favor of Her building experience by taking over or managing Uncle Teddy's seat [Teddy = mostly incapacitated 2010-2012]???

just another example of THE MAN keeping our priviledged aristocratic Irish Catholic female Royal class down, by hghlighting their ethical, familial, and (dare we say) intellectual shortcomings.
If I edit a book of my Mom's fav poetry and essays, do I qualify, you know?
/pathetic Paterson suck-up whore (in a long line, apprently)

Whew's purdy cool... use thatn. Srsly, mulltipule names are so 2007.
2009-2010 will rank with 1913-14, 1933-36, 1964-65 and 1981-82 as years that will permanently change our government, politics and lives. Just as the stars were aligned for Wilson, Roosevelt, Johnson and Reagan, they are aligned for Obama. Simply put, we enter his administration as free-enterprise, market-dominated, laissez-faire America. We will shortly become like Germany, France, the United Kingdom, or Sweden -- a socialist democracy in which the government dominates the economy, determines private-sector priorities and offers a vastly expanded range of services to many more people at much higher taxes.
Obama will accomplish his agenda of "reform" under the rubric of "recovery." Using the electoral mandate bestowed on a Democratic Congress by restless voters and the economic power given his administration by terrified Americans, he will change our country fundamentally in the name of lifting the depression. His stimulus packages won't do much to shorten the downturn -- although they will make it less painful -- but they will do a great deal to change our nation.

Sicialism has worked in Europe because they could ride in the wake of American economic growth. The United States will only have economic and job growth if its citizens have economic freedom.

The non-event and non-person are the result of information consolidation and choking by the MSM. Rantburg is the counter example of the means to impart those hundreds of 'small' stories of man's experience that the self chosen elite have seen fit to decide are unworthy of notice. It is why MSM continues to diminish and their function replaced by a more effective media of information. Control to shape the news is now a double edge sword which cuts the controller for every mistake and omission in execution loosening the grip evermore. Adapt or perish.
If anyone you know is becoming infected affecetd by the above, the antidote is right here:
You don't have to follow me
Only you can set you free

Demi Moore should pledge to quit buying buildings in Hailey Idaho and then just letting them sit empty, where once successful businesses stood. Small town America cannot afford to have rich Hollywood personalities buy most of their land and physical infrastructure just to have it be laid fallow so the already very rich Hollywood personalities can have their own little city, what a bunch of greedy out of touch jackasses. Give us our town back, bitch and go back to LA,.
wow, thanks Demi and cast. I always liked to be lectured to from folks that by enviro nut standards actual carbon footprint is 50 times my own. (and a 40 yr old guy that calls himself Diddy is also hilarious.) I didn't hear a pledge about getting rid of the 25,000 sq ft mansion that uses an enormous amount of energy to run or the lear jet? Oh that's right - it's okay when the beautiful people do it. (disclaimer: I'm not an enviro nut and don't really care where you live or how much $$ cash you make, just don't lecture me on how I should live)
If it were not so damn amusing it would almost be depressing to witness that there are people out there (i.e. these actors) who are so damn pretentious, hypocritical and ignorant not to realize the tragically ironic parody they just did of themselves w/this crappy video.
$$$ quote: "to be a servant to our president."
We have entered the age of th surreal - what a bunch of vapid tools.
...Im thinking, You know, I didnt just shell out 30-odd bucks to listen to you two dingbats babble on about your precious Messiah. But I dont say anything unpleasant. Dont want to crap on their gushfest. Its their Day One. In fact, Im more tempted to put on a big grin and chime in, Gosh, it really was great, wasnt it? What a bangup end to eight great years! Dont you love the way Bush went out with his head high, even with the catcalls from the peanut gallery? I am so grateful that man was our president in such difficult times. Nice to see the other side get a chance, though. Wicked historic. I hope the young fella doesnt screw it up. You know, Iraq and stuff!
But I dont. I try to be polite and mind my own business, most of the time. I usually avoid mocking random strangers or frankly, even speaking to them if I dont have to, and as a rule avoid engaging store clerks on politics. One of the hallmarks of Obamism and BDS in general, though, is the assumption that everyone else shares your view and wants to talk about it. Around here, anyway....
I try to keep the mockery among friends, maybe offering a little of it gratis to a handful of special dolts on the Internet. But if Starbucks corporate practice and the new American public discourse is going to continue to be about annoying me in the morning with insufferably vapid Obama gush, I may need to reconsider that policy.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
