It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... A Palestinian who’d taken French leave, perhaps?
According to a media source, the incident took place late on Sunday evening on Arwa Street in the Crater district, and the soldier was transferred to a hospital in the city to receive treatment.
The city of Aden has been witnessing security chaos under the UAE-backed STC factions’ control since the Saudi-led coalition seized the city in mid of 2015.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited. [Regnum] A United States ship and military boats of Houthi supporters from the Ansar Allah movement that rules northern Yemen collided in the Red Sea. Sky News Arabia reported this on January 1,citing Yemeni sources.
“Violent clashes are occurring between Houthi warboats and a US warship in the Red Sea,” the report said.
At the same time, a source from the Al Jazeera TV channel in the Houthi group Ansar Allah, in turn, denied information about clashes with a US warship in the Red Sea.
Earlier , Regnum reported that according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the American destroyer USS Gravely shot down two anti-ship ballistic missiles in the Red Sea, fired from Yemen.
It was clarified that the missiles were launched on December 30 from areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen. They tried to attack the container ship MAERSK Hangzhou under the flag of Singapore, owned by Denmark.
On the morning of December 31, the UK Navy's Maritime Trade Coordination Center (UKMTO) reported that two explosions occurred off the coast of Yemen, west of Hodeidah. The UKMTO clarified that the ship was not damaged and was sent to its destination port.

The veteran politician's convoy was fired upon from multiple sides at Yarik interchange, the party said, but also added that fortunately, the JUI-F emir was not present in the vehicles at the time.
Fazl has been constantly calling on the interim government and the Election Commission of Pakistain (ECP) to ensure the law and order situation and also stressed that it wasn’t the right time to be holding the polls.
"The incident yesterday [Sunday] raises questions on the security situatiuon," the former parliamentarian told a presser in DI Khan on Monday, adding, "It won’t be a big issue If elections are delayed for a few days."
[Rudaw] An unidentified drone struck a village near Sulaimani province’s Chamchamal district on Sunday morning, a local official told Rudaw, with no confirmed reports of casualties.
Hemin Bahjat, mayor of Chamchamal’s Aghjalar subdistrict told Rudaw that a drone hit the vicinity of Chnartu village in the subdistrict, adding that the damages caused by the attacks are yet to be known.
Bahjat said the drone had been flying over the sky of the subdistrict since Sunday night.
The drone is yet to be identified.
The area has previously been targeted by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... on the grounds of the alleged presence of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
Neither Turkey nor the PKK have made any official comments.
A dronezap on Wednesday, suspected to be Ottoman Turkish, targeted the Tutaqalli village in the subdistrict. Residents of Aghjalar told Rudaw’s news hound on the ground that the strikes targeted the PKK fighters in the area and that there were casualties who were transported from the area by the gang.
On Thursday, the village was hit by another unidentified dronezap. No casualties or material losses were reported.
In August, a PKK official was reportedly killed and a fighter injured near Aghjalar as a result of a suspected Ottoman TurkishArclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... The attack comes amid an escalation of violence between Turkey and PKK, after the gang killed 12 soldiers in the Kurdistan Region in late December, and Turkey started conducting retaliatory strikes on the PKK and its alleged offshoots in Syria.
Ottoman Turkish officials have repeatedly accused Sulaimani authorities of supporting the PKK. Ottoman Turkish forces often carry out aerial attacks in the province on the grounds of targeting the PKK.
A flight ban on Sulaimani International Airport by Turkey has been in place since April 3, 2023. The Ottoman Turkish foreign ministry has said that the ban, which is to remain in effect until June 2024, is related to the alleged "intensification" of PKK activity in Sulaimani.
[IsraelTimes] Community asks that ’devoted father to his daughters’ be recognized as a fallen soldier as he was part of kibbutz security team that tried to ward off faceless myrmidons during assault
Ilan Weiss, who had been considered missing since the Hamas ...one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,... -led massacres on October 7, was killed in the assault on his community, Kibbutz Be’eri announced Monday.
Weiss, 56, left his home on the morning of October 7 to join the kibbutz emergency response team. His family didn’t hear from him after 7:15 a.m. that day.
His wife Shiri, 53, and daughter Noga, 18, were seized and taken hostage in Gaza. The two were released on November 25 as part of a temporary ceasefire deal brokered by Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... and the United States between Hamas and Israel.
"This morning we received the bitter news of the murder of kibbutz member Ilan Weiss," the kibbutz said in a joint statement with the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, which was set up to support the families. "The kibbutz community bows its head and sympathizes with the family’s unbearable pain."
The kibbutz asked that Weiss, as deputy commander of the kibbutz defense team, be recognized as a soldier killed in combat "as he fulfilled his role when he went out to open the armory."
Weiss had replaced another member who usually handles the task but was unavailable. The statement said Weiss opened the armory "to distribute weapons to the members of the standby squad, who fought to save the residents and the homes of the residents of the kibbutz."
His death was determined by a Forensic Medicine Institute examination which assessed that Weiss was not alive and estimated that he was murdered on October 7, the statement said.
It was not clear from the statement if Weiss’s remains had been gathered. Terrorists who carried out the massacres also kidnapped the bodies of some of their victims.
On October 7, Hamas led some three thousand faceless myrmidons who burst through the border with the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, killing over 1,200 people, most of them civilians, as they overran local communities. They also kidnapped at least 240 people who were taken as hostages to Gaza.
Kibbutz Be’eri was one of the hardest-hit communities.
When the faceless myrmidons entered the Weiss home, Ilan’s daughter Noga hid under the bed in the safe room and watched as Hamas button men took her mother captive.
She texted the rest of the family on WhatsApp, telling them that the button men had set fire to the house. As it became difficult to breathe, Noga’s older sister told her to escape through the window of the safe room and hide in a bush.
Noga texted her sister at 11:30 a.m. that a terrorist was approaching her hiding spot, which was the last time anyone heard from her until her release from captivity.
Noga’s sisters, Meytal, 23, and Maayan, 26, both lived in separate student apartments in Be’eri, and hid in their safe rooms for nearly 12 hours until Israeli soldiers were able to rescue them.
The Weiss family are part of an extended clan at Kibbutz Be’eri that was deeply affected by the massacre that took place on what has become known in Israel as the "Black Shabbat."
The Weiss family dog, Ketem, was also killed on October 7; Ilan Weiss’s daughters said they used to tease their father that the beloved dog was the son their father never had.
Possibly this happened exactly as described, but I searched the Times of Israel, the Jerusalem Post, and Ynet, and found nothing that looked like this attack.

*The Ramallah branch of PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party announces a general strike for tomorrow in response to the alleged Israeli strike that killed Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri in Lebanon earlier this evening.
The announcement further demonstrates Hamas’s popularity in the West Bank.
Notably, though, Hamas’s support in Gaza — which has faced the brunt of the terror group’s decisions — is not as high, according to recent polls.
*The Hezbollah-linked al-Mayadeen news site reports that the death count from tonight’s alleged Israeli airstrike on a Hamas office near Beirut has climbed from four to six.

Arouri, one of the founders of Hamas’ military wing, had headed the group’s presence in the West Bank. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had threatened to kill him even before the Hamas-Israel war began on Oct. 7.
Israeli officials declined to comment.
Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said the blast killed four people and was carried out by an Israeli drone.

[FoxNews] The Alvand class destroyer had been a part of the Iranian navy's 34th fleet
Iran has 34 fleets? Isn’t that a tad excessive?
Iran's Alborz warship has reportedly entered the Red Sea, emerging at a time of heightened tensions in the key shipping route amid ongoing attacks on vessels in response to the Israel-Hamas war.
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Monday that the vessel had entered the Red Sea through the Bab al-Mandab Strait, though it was unclear precisely when.
Tasnim did not give details of the Alborz's mission but said Iranian warships had been operating in open waters to secure shipping routes, combat piracy, and carry out other tasks since 2009.

This ship has been a part of the Iran Navy for over 40 years. It is pretty good for scaring small vessels or running weapons to the Houthis and it might have a few missiles on it. But it is a really big target with little capacity to protect itself.
