-Lurid Crime Tales-
Chicago is blighted by shoplifting as ANOTHER American city goes down the toilet because its left-wing AG stops prosecuting shoplifters
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Chicago is the latest city to be hit by rampant shoplifting and its Magnificent Mile, the once highly-populated retail destination, is now dotted with empty storefronts as businesses are being driven away by the brazen thieves. The city has been plagued by a string of robberies and a wave of crime in the past few months, as some say that the city's 'soft-on-crime' policies embolden the thieves. The issue may only grow worse as at least 50 cops have been put on unpaid leave for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Green activists quit DC rally over inclusion of Jewish groups backing Israel
They aren’t even pretending anymore. Red on red... or blue on blue — both work.
[IsraelTimes] Washington chapter of Sunrise Movement accused of antisemitism after urging that organizations supporting Zionism be banned from coalition behind voting rights protest Saturday.

The Washington DC branch of a national climate action group turned down a role at a voting rights rally because a "number of Zionist organizations" will be taking part.

"Given our commitment to racial justice, self-governance and indigenous illusory sovereignty, we oppose Zionism and any state that enforces its ideology," Sunrise DC said in a statement it posted Tuesday on Twitter.

Government Corruption
Local Gov't Employees Took Hundreds of Hours of Paid Time Off To Elect Warnock, Docs Show
[Free Beacon] A pair of highly paid Atlanta government employees took hundreds of hours of paid time off to consult for Sen. Raphael Warnock's (D., Ga.) political campaign, a double dip that saw them rake in nearly $100,000.

According to campaign finance records, Phillana Williams and Erica Pines received a combined $97,500 from Warnock during the Georgia Senate runoff elections. Williams and Pines held six-figure salary jobs with the city of Atlanta throughout the election period, during which the operatives took a combined 297 hours in paid vacation time, payroll records provided by the city of Atlanta show.

The move allowed Williams and Pines to minimize their public service responsibilities as they raked in lucrative payments from taxpayers and the Warnock campaign. A veteran Georgia political operative told the Washington Free Beacon that while congressional staffers often take time off "to lend a hand in the closing weeks of their boss's campaign," that time is unpaid.

"The employee of an unrelated and nonpartisan public office taking paid leave to make a buck on Warnock's campaign is a bad look for everyone involved," the operative said.

Williams, Pines, and Warnock did not return requests for comment.

Williams, who still serves as director of marketing and strategy in Atlanta's Office of Entertainment, took 24 vacation leave days from Nov. 23, 2020, to Jan. 6, 2021—a total of 192 hours, City Records show. She went on to receive $62,500 from Warnock's campaign on Jan. 26 through her consulting company, the Phillana Factor. In addition to her work with Warnock, Williams took $65,000 in combined payments for consulting work on President Joe Biden and Sen. Jon Ossoff's (D., Ga.) campaigns.

From Oct. 24, 2020, to Jan. 15, 2021, meanwhile, Pines took 105 hours of "scheduled" paid time off from her role as Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) senior director. During that time, she received $35,000 from the Warnock campaign through Sweet Tea Consulting, an LLC that Pines did not establish with the state of Georgia until late June, according to Business Records.

The paid time off proved fruitful for Pines—she submitted her Letter Of Resignation to MARTA's chief of staff in April, writing "it is time for me to leap full time into political consulting."

Looks like 2 people 297 hours of paid vacation, or 7+ weeks.

Since most GA State Merit System employees get 2 weeks vacation a year.

Where did the other 3 weeks come from?

Trump Organization under tax investigation — report
[DW] US media reports that Trump National Golf Club's finances are under scrutiny, with a probe launched into whether it has misled a valuation for tax purposes.

Former US President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
's family business, which is already under indictment, now faces another investigation, according to a report published in The New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

on Wednesday.

Citing sources with knowledge of the matter, the publication reported that finances at a golf course The Trump Organization owns are under scrutiny.

WHAT DID THE REPORT SAY?
The district attorney's office is understood to have subpoenaed financial records from the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester.

Records from the town of Ossining, which administers the areas taxes, have also been requested, the report states.

According to the publication, the investigation is being led by District Attorney Mimi E. Rocah,
...US prosecutor under President Obama. When she was running for West Chester DA as a Democrat her top issue was DONALD TRUMP!!! But really, she’s just a Hillary fangrrrl...
and centers around whether Trump's company submitted misleading valuations of the golf course, in order to benefit from a lower tax threshold.

The Trump Organization said in a statement that the investigation was politically motivated and labeled it a witch hunt.

"The suggestion that anything was inappropriate is completely false and incredibly irresponsible," the statement said. "The witch hunt continues."

This is not the first criminal probe to be launched against Trump's family business.

In July, the Trump Organization, which is an unlisted family holding company that owns golf clubs, hotels and luxury properties, was charged with tax crimes, along with Trump Payroll Corporation and its Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg, in a tax avoidance scheme.

According to the indictment from 2005 through this year, Weisselberg and the Trump Organization cheated the state and city out of taxes by conspiring to pay senior executives "off the books."

TRUMP'S TAX CONUNDRUM
While Trump himself was not implicated in that indictment, the former president has been in a long-running battle to prevent handing over his tax returns and financial records to prosecutors.

In July, the Justice Department ordered the Internal Revenue Service (IRS
...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies...
) to hand his tax records over to Congress.

The New York Times reported in September 2020 that Trump paid just $750 (€644) in federal income taxes in 2016, the year he ran for president, and in 2017, his first year in the White House.

He also paid no federal income taxes in 10 out of 15 years because he reported losing more money than he made, the report said.
Real estate investments are legally structured to lose money on paper due to depreciation of the improvements that will be recaptured as taxable profits when the property is sold. This is normal, and the reason why doctors invest in strip shopping malls,
At the time, Trump dismissed the accusations as "totally fake news."
Not so much fake as displaying an embarrassing level of parochial ignorance on the part of the journalists and those who believed them.

If I'm Trump and the city asks me for a valuation of my property, am I gonna hire the appraiser that gives me a high valuation or am I gonna hire the guy who gives me a low one? Pretty weak justification for an audit / audit like activity, if you ask me.

#7  in a tax avoidance scheme

Anybody who claims a deduction is engaged in a tax avoidance scheme.

It's common to describe Congresscritters by their state and party affiiation, e.g., Pelosi, D-Calif. Instead the description should include gross income and taxes paid. E.g.: Pelosi, D-Calif-none of your business, peasant- taxes are for little people.

After trashing supply chain, White House official mocks consumers
[AMERICANTHINKER] After wrecking the supply chain, the White House should be begging for mercy from consumers. After all, it was Democrats, including some in the White House, who created the supply chain mess, leaving mass numbers of ships stranded at ports. Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg
...the testicleless mayor of South Bend, Indiana, since 2012. Buttigieg graduated from Harvard College and, on a Rhodes Scholarship, from Pembroke College, Oxford. From 2007 to 2010, he worked at McKinsey and Company, a consulting firm. From 2009 to 2017 Buttigieg served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve, attaining the rank of lieutenant and deploying to Afghanistan in 2014. Buttigieg was first elected mayor of South Bend in 2011 and was reelected in 2015. During his second term, he announced he was gay, which surprised no one. Buttigieg also campaigned for Indiana state treasurer in 2010 and for chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2017, losing both elections. He ran for the Dem nomination in 2020 on the theory that being mayor of a nondescript medium sized city is qualification to run the country. He lost that one too...
went on extended family leave without appointing a deputy or telling much of anyone. Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,'s ruling Democrats put into place laws that prohibit independent truckers or trucks more than three years old from collecting containerized merchandise from port offloads. California Democrat union allies kept port labor at banker's hours, unlike their globally competitive rivals. Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S., who gives the term geriatric a bad name. He blames Afghans for losing Afghanistan....
's Fed printed money to stimulate demand. Joe himself drove up energy and transport prices by halting drilling. All of this, and more, add up to a supply chain breakdown, courtesy of Democrats.

But instead of blaming themselves for their many failures, none of which was seen during the Trump administration, one White House official decided to mock consumers instead.

According to the New York Post:

WASHINGTON — Boiling down the concerns of millions of Americans about shortages of everything from consumer goods to food to holiday gifts from a supply chain crisis to its minimum effect, a White House official insisted Monday that the biggest impact will be a lack of choice.

Concerns have been raised by politicians on both sides of the aisle and businesses about the massive supply chain disruptions as the holiday season quickly approaches, with some experts suggesting consumers start shopping early due delays and lack of inventory.

But during a call with governors' representatives on Monday, Liz Reynolds, special assistant to the president for manufacturing and economic development, told the gubernatorial staffers, "You won't be able to get the jacket in 15 colors, but you will be able to get the jacket," a source on the National Governors Association call told The Post.

#2  God these characters are disgusting. Honestly, what normal person contemplating this disaster would say such revoltingly stupid things?

This is an economic Katrina (Latrina"??). An unmitigated disaster. It would qualify under law or insurance policies as an example of force majeur.

As with any such incident, we understand that no individual or individual decision is to blame. No one needs happy talk or spinning. We just need serious, responsible, mature adults to face the situation, roll up their sleeves and start fixing matters.

Which of course is way too much to demand when your nation is ruled by contemptuous, corrupt, depraved morons
