[American Thinker] It was said during our Mideast military adventures, and has been considered a truism of war, that you can’t really win a conflict without "boots on the ground." For it’s difficult to completely subdue a people from afar. It may not be too different with battles for civilization.
I stated in 2012, addressing a long-developing reality, that the culture war was over as the Left had achieved social dominance. "What is occurring now is a pacification effort," I wrote — one designed to stamp out the "conservative" guerrilla-group diehards.
Other than its intensification, the only thing that has changed about this effort in the last decade is that it has a new name: "cancel culture." With GoogTwitFace (Big Tech) having upped its bias and dropped its mask and corporate America joining academia, the media and entertainment on the Dark Side, these entities act as a malevolent monolith silencing dissident voices from Maine to Maui. But it would be naïve to think the Left, which craves power and wants total control, will be satisfied with its current soft authoritarianism.
This brings us to two developments that could cause the raising of eyebrows if not militias. Consider: If you heard about a Third World country in which the leadership was purging the military of political opponents, would you assume it was just an exercise in ideological nepotism? Or would you suppose the leaders wanted a military of devoted fellow travelers who would, when asked, unflinchingly turn their guns on domestic opponents of the regime who couldn’t be cowed by other methods?
Now, should the assumption be different just because the military purge occurs in a developed country?
Just such an event has been taking place in the U.S. for at least a decade. It began under Barack Obama, who not only tried to socially re-engineer the military but also engaged in a widely noted purge of top military brass.
President Trump didn’t (couldn’t?) do enough to reverse this process, and now it has been kicked into high gear. Having largely corrupted the armed forces’ upper echelons, the Left now aims for rank-and-file ideological conformity. Thus do we hear about how we must stamp out the imaginary boogeyman du jour, "white supremacy," from the military. Preposterously, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin even issued, in early February, a 60-day stand-down order to address the alleged internal threat it poses.
Of course, white supremacists are about as common as straight, happily married women at a NOW convention; why, I’m well into middle age and I don’t know that I’ve ever met one. This isn’t to say there aren’t liberals delusional enough to believe the threat is real; that they’re detached from reality is partially why leftists are so dangerous.

Often, expectations that a plan will scale in predictable, let alone desirable ways results in unpleasant surprises for the planners.

You haven't beat the Taliban in 20 years. Now you're going to take on, what, the 4th largest armed body in the world? Out there are at least a generation who have real combat experience, most of whom still consider themselves Americans.

So, the organization that made ROI a bad joke in the Stan is going to turn on a dime here. let's see how that works out.

I said it before, watch for some of these so-called minors coming across the border to be offered citizenship in return for military service. They will do as they're told because they don't know any better.

When Loyd Austin took over it was about the same time Antifa started carrying assault rifles.
[Babylon Bee] ALBERTA—In response to a national sauce shortage brought on by supply chain issues, Chick-Fil-A has purchased the Keystone XL Pipeline and will repurpose it to carry millions of gallons of glorious Chick-Fil-A sauce to desperate Americans.
"This was a no-brainer," said CEO Dan Cathy. "Americans consume 32 billion gallons of Chick-Fil-A sauce every day. This pipeline was just sitting there collecting dust, and we've given it a second chance at life!"
Environmentalists planned to protest the pipeline and its potential impact on wildlife, but then Dan Cathy gave them a bite of delicious chicken dipped in golden sauce and they instantly became evangelical conservative capitalists.
The new pipeline project is expected to create 25,000 new jobs and deplete the world's reserves of natural smoke flavor, caramel color, and xanthan gum.

Two different things Besoeker.
Destruction of Wuhan Institute (and, maybe, Chairman Xi's tragic coronavirus death) would indicate that Chinese grasped the folly of playing with wildfire.
The tragic Three Gorges Dam collapse and massive flooding would indicate that they didn't and Heavens are angry.
cases per million population: 17,004
deaths per million population: 185
This puts India in 110th place for cases/million and 111th for deaths — pretty impressive, actually. It’s just that there aren’t enough free hospital beds, free meds, and free burial/cremation services for the poor. No doubt this is also true for the rest of the Asian Third Word countries, the first of which I see, scrolling down the countries ordered by number of cases per million population, are Nepal, Mongolia, and Malaysia at numbers 115, 116, and 117, well below the First World and even the world average.
More useful statistics pulled together for our perusal by NN2N1.

Despite the new Media Panic wave regarding India with CON-VID-19,
here are the actual death count winners according to WORLD METER.
Note: Just click on "Death per million" to sort accordingly.
#1 Hungary with 2,987 per million
#2 Gibraltar with 2,791 per million
#3 Czechia with 2,774 per million
#4 Bosnia and Herzegovina with 2,716 per million
#5 San Marino with 2,648 per million
Then 13 positions further down the list we have at #18 the USA with 1,792 claimed deaths per million (0.1792 of 1%) and #9 for infections per million.
But the Media can't let go of a $$$$ making Click-Bait headline.
So the new PANIC is India, despite actually coming in at #110 for Deaths & Infections per million.
But, while we are focused on India and even have a Biden/Harris Travel Ban in place for it. Almost every Central and South American Country has higher Death & Infection rates per million than the India, but we have still Democrat promoted Open Borders.
BTW: This time I put the link in the source box...
You’re climbing the learning curve nicely, my dear.

The writer mathematically worked it out that the Communist Chinese Gov. was under reporting deaths by as much as 10 fold in Feb. 2020.

San Marino is one of those quaint little city states left over from the Renaissance. About 61 square kilometers in size and having about 33,000 residents. We're playing statistical games here.
As for the US, take out NY and NJ and where does that place the rest of America in the listings.
#1 Hungry 2,997(D/pm) 82,349 cases/pm
a 3.639% death rate per million vs infected vs.
#1 NJ-USA 2,909 (D/pm) 113,554 cases/pm
a 2.561% death rate per million infected
#2 Gibraltar 2,791 (D/pm) 127,249 cases/pm
a 2.193% death rate per million vs infected vs.
#2 NY-USA 2,728(D/pm) 109,218 cases/pm

A team of researchers at the University of Washington Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) has found evidence that suggests the number of people who have died due to COVID-19 is much higher than official reports would indicate. They have undertaken a country-by-country analysis of deaths due to COVID-19 that includes factors associated with the pandemic as a whole and have published their results on the IHME website.
...To create their estimates, the researchers counted deaths around the world week by week, factoring in six drivers of mortality: total official deaths from COVID-19, increases in deaths due to delayed treatment for other ailments, increases in deaths due to increases in mental health conditions such as depression, reductions in deaths due to fewer incidents involving injury, such as car accidents due to the pandemic, reductions in deaths due to less spread of other diseases such as the flu and reductions in deaths due to people who would have died from other ailments such as chronic diseases but were listed as COVID-19 deaths.
...After analyzing their data, the researchers found major discrepancies between official death tallies and those they found through their calculations. Egypt, for example, reported just over 13,000 deaths, while the IHME number came to 170,000. Another example was Russia—officials there reported just over 100,000 deaths, while the team at IHME found the number was more likely over 600,000. The researchers also found that the actual death toll in the U.S. is likely nearly twice as high as official reports—as of May 3, it was 574,043. They found it more likely the number is closer to 905,289. All told, the researchers found that worldwide death estimates have been far lower than actual deaths. The WHO has reported the worldwide death toll (which has been calculated using each country's official tallies) as 3.25 million people as of May 6. The IHME team found the number is much likely closer to 6.93 million.
Because that report is from Medical Academia not Actuarial Statistical Analysis.
ASA is more far reaching, these people have a light weight view, and are politicizing medical evaluation for the benefit of furthering the Left Status Quo of continuing to call COVID a pandemic, when statistically it is no worse than previous outbreaks of human to human infection.
Approximately, 2,16-2,98% Mortality - This is on the 'High Side' but pandemic - no
[Just The News] Founder and Chairman of the Black Americans for a Better Future Fund Raynard Jackson noted on Tuesday that a diversity of viewpoints exists within the black community.
"Who told corporate America and the liberal media that Stacey Abrams speaks for the main rank and file of the black community? She doesn't," he declared during a press conference co-hosted by his organization and the Georgia Black Republican Council.
Dr. Lisa Babbage of the Georgia Black Republican Council shared the same sentiment: "Let us not forget that we are family black America. But Stacey Abrams and activists like her are not monolithic voices for our community," she said.
Jackson and others noted that Major League Baseball's move to shift its All-Star Game away from Atlanta will deprive local businesses of a prime financial opportunity.
The league's choice to move the game came as an expression of opposition to an election-related law passed in the Peach State, but Jackson said that Abrams, who has decried the legislation, had lied about the bill.
[Aljazeera] In Nazareth, Haifa, Ramallah, Jerusalem and beyond Palestinians have been demonstrating against the ongoing ethnic cleansing at the hands of the Israeli regime. Motivated and inspired by the steadfast resistance of Palestinian families facing forced evictions from their homes in the neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem, they have bravely taken to the streets — bravely because they do so, knowing that what awaits them is brutal crackdown by the Israeli army and police.
Indeed, at Al-Aqsa compound, where much of the violence against protesters has taken place, Palestinians were tear gassed and fired at as they prayed. Further south, Israel has launched air raids on Gaza, hitting civilian buildings and killing over 40 people, including at least 14 children.
