Germany says vaccinations to start in early Jan.

European Union authorities are expected to make a decision by Dec. 29 on approving the first vaccine for use. Germany is getting special vaccination centers ready. The news comes as Britain gears up to start coronavirus vaccinations on Tuesday.

Hassan: Two Million COVID-19 Vaccines Reserved for Lebanon
[AnNahar] Caretaker Hamad Hassan told Independent Arabia on Monday that Lebanon has booked around 2m Pfizer vaccines that will be given to around 30 percent of the Lebanese population.
“Lebanon booked with American Pfizer company around 2 million vaccines to be distributed free of charge to segments of the society as targeted in a plan placed by the company and the Lebanese ministerial committee,” tasked with monitoring the virus, said Hassan.
The Minister said the agreement would provide vaccines for 30 percent of the Lebanese population.
Hassan said the National Committee for Corona Vaccine Management was formed two weeks ago. A calendar to determine the distribution of the vaccine to target groups, especially the most vulnerable to the epidemic, such as health workers and the elderly, was set.
The first shipment of Pfizer coronavirus vaccines is expected to arrive in Israel in the coming days, the Health Ministry has confirmed, although the exact day of delivery is still unclear.
According to sources in the know, the first shipment is expected to include 110,000 doses.
Last week, Health Ministry director-general Chezy Levy said during a video meeting with the country’s hospital administrators that some four million doses could arrive before the end of the month. He said that although they could come even before they are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, no one will be inoculated before approval.
The FDA advisory panel is set to review the Pfizer vaccine on December 10.
China prepares large-scale rollout of coronavirus vaccines
[AyPee] Provincial governments across China are placing orders for experimental, domestically made coronavirus vaccines, though health officials have yet to say how well they work or how they may reach the country’s 1.4 billion people.
Developers are speeding up final testing, the Chinese foreign minister said during a U.N. meeting last week, as Britain approved emergency use of Pfizer Inc.’s vaccine candidate and providers scrambled to set up distribution.
Even without final approval, more than 1 million health care workers and others in China who are deemed at high risk of infection have received experimental vaccines under emergency use permission. Developers have yet to disclose how effective their vaccines are and possible side effects.
China’s fledgling pharmaceutical industry has at least five vaccines from four producers being tested in more than a dozen countries including Russia, Egypt and Mexico. Health experts say even if they are successful, the certification process for the United States, Europe, Japan and other developed countries might be too complex for them to be used there. However, China said it will ensure the products are affordable for developing countries and has been actively pursuing deals across the world.
On Sunday, 1.2 million doses of the Chinese company Sinovac’s vaccine arrived in Indonesia, the government said.
Within China, so far only one developer, China National Pharmaceutical Group, known as Sinopharm, said in November it applied for final market approval for use of its vaccine. Others have been approved for emergency use on people deemed at high risk of infection.

Time will tell if I just have a suspiciously healthy mind, or I nailed it. But, I honestly feel the fix is in to DELAY the VAX. Or cause massive issues initially and as long as possible. All in hopes of having it look like the Liberal Socialist Party was needed to get it out to the public.

and IF Infected your running odds over the last 335 days of dying from the virus were something like 1.75% or roughly 0.00074025 of 1% overall.
BTW: Now that we are in the 2nd Wuhan Flu Virus Season. Many are noting the claimed mortality rate "so far" seems to be much much lower than Season 1. This could be because we don't have Liberal-Socialist Governors putting the infected in the Nursing Homes to bump up the numbers or some Herd Immunity has happened despite lockdowns.

In mid-September, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned U.S. politicians that foreign hackers, particularly from China and Russia, are trying to steal U.S. coronavirus vaccine research and testing technology and engaging in efforts to disrupt the American government’s response to the ongoing pandemic.
The U.S. intelligence community’s annual Worldwide Threat Assessment has long listed North Korea’s cyber capabilities as a threat to America.
Citing unnamed people familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal revealed Wednesday that the attackers wanted sensitive coronavirus research information that the rogue North Korean regime could weaponize or sell on the black market.
"It wasn’t known whether the hackers succeeded in swiping useful information. But North Korea has coordinated attacks on the six companies since August, the people said," the Journal noted, adding:
The [potentially hacked] firms include previously unreported targets in the U.S.: Johnson & Johnson and Maryland-based Novavax Inc., which are both working on experimental vaccines, the people said. The list also includes three South Korean companies with Covid-19 [Chinese coronavirus] drugs in earlier clinical trials, Genexine Inc., Shin Poong Pharmaceutical Co. and Celltrion Inc., they added.
North Korea had also tried infiltrating U.K.-based AstraZeneca PLC, whose vaccine co-developed with the University of Oxford, has been shown to be as much as 90% effective and is seeking emergency approval, the people said. On Friday, Rooters reported that suspected North Korean hackers had tried to break into the systems of AstraZeneca, citing unnamed sources.
Two days after the Journal’s revelations, IBM reportedly cautioned that hackers from a potential "nation-state" targeted the coronavirus supply chain, without naming the suspect.
In a blog post, IBM explained that the hackers targeted the vaccine "cold chain," which ensures that inoculations reach their destination while preserved in temperature-controlled environments during storage and transportation, the Hill pointed out on Thursday.
According to IBM, the cyberattacks started in September 2020, targeting organizations that were likely associated with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance’s Cold Chain Equipment Optimization Platform (CCEOP) program spearheading efforts to distribute a potential vaccine to developing nations.
"We assess that the purpose of this COVID-19 phishing campaign may have been to harvest credentials, possibly to gain future unauthorized access to corporate networks and sensitive information relating to the COVID-19 vaccine distribution," IBM security researchers wrote, according to ABC.
If successful, hackers’ disruptions could cost many lives as the virus has reached record levels in several regions globally, particularly the West.
In July, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) unsealed an 11-count indictment against two Chinese nationals accused of running a global hacking campaign that targeted American companies researching a vaccine for personal gains and behalf of communist China.
[CollegeFix] A former researcher for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston has pleaded guilty in federal court to lying to customs officers about smuggling cancer research to China.
In December 2019, Zaosong Zheng allegedly stole 21 vials of biological research and attempted to smuggle them out of the United States aboard a flight destined for China. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, customs officers found the vials hidden in a sock inside one of Zheng’s bags, without being properly stored.
Zheng initially lied to officers about the contents of his bags, but later admitted to stealing the vials from Beth Israel, which is affiliated with Harvard University.
Zheng was fired soon after his arrest.
"Zheng stated that he intended to bring the vials to China to use them to conduct research in his own laboratory and publish the results under his own name," according to a statement from the DOJ following Zheng’s arrest.
The charge for making false statements allows a sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of $250,000. Zheng has also agreed to leave the country following his sentencing hearing, scheduled for January 6, 2021.
Zheng’s guilty plea comes as DOJ continues to apprehend American-based university researchers working with China.
In June, Harvard University Chemistry Professor Charles Lieber was indicted for making false statements about his involvement with a talent recruitment program sponsored by the Chinese government. In May, Professor Simon Ang, head of the University of Arkansas High Density Electronics Center, was arrested for failing to reveal his connections to China when he applied for grants from NASA. On May 8, Dr. Xiao-Jiang Li, 63, of Emory University, was sentenced to one year of probation on a felony charge and ordered to pay $35,089 in restitution for filing false tax returns in which he failed to report at least $500,000 in income from work at Chinese universities.
"Any efforts to compromise research undermine the hard work of our faculty and staff to advance patient care," Beth Israel spokeswoman Teresa Herbert told the media on Thursday.
"We are grateful for the diligence and professionalism of federal law enforcement in this case," said Herbert.

The US Justice Department announced in a blurb on Thursday that they are launching a lawsuit against Facebook for allegedly discriminating against American workers after a nearly two-year long investigation.
"The lawsuit alleges that Facebook refused to recruit, consider, or hire qualified and available US workers for over 2,600 positions that Facebook, instead, reserved for temporary visa holders it sponsored for permanent work authorization (or "green cards") in connection with the permanent labor certification process (PERM)," the Justice Department stated.
According to the Justice Department, the average salary of the positions in which Facebook discriminated against American workers was roughly $156,000.
"Our message to all employers — including those in the technology sector — is clear: you cannot illegally prefer to recruit, consider, or hire temporary visa holders over US workers."
The Justice Department brought attention to the methods by which Facebook accepted job applications for these positions. According to the suit, Facebook did not advertise these positions through their ordinary channel of recruitment, their careers website, and instead required applicants to submit resumes through mail delivery only. The tech giant would then throw out applications submitted by American citizens, only looking at the submissions of potential employees with H-1B visas.
"In contrast, Facebook's usual hiring process relies on recruitment methods designed to encourage applications by advertising positions on its careers website, accepting electronic applications, and not pre-selecting candidates to be hired based on a candidate’s immigration status, according to the lawsuit," the Justice Department wrote.
The Justice Department pointed to the results of the unusual hiring process for these positions, asserting that between zero and one American applicant found themselves applying for positions whereby applications must be submitted by mail, whereas their ordinary process attracted hundreds of applicants per position.
They argue that the purpose of Facebook's alleged discriminatory practices was to raise the rate of job retention. "Such temporary visa holders often have limited job mobility and thus are likely to remain with their company until they can adjust status, which for some can be decades," the blurb reads.
Facebook is also reportedly facing looming anti-trust lawsuits supported by as many as 40 US states and the Federal Trade Commission. According to unconfirmed reports, the lawsuits will challenge Facebook's acquisitions of multiple social media brands such as Instagram and WhatsApp, as well as their accumulation of user data.

The nationwide tally -- representing one in six U.S. eateries -- is among the findings of a survey released Monday by the National Restaurant Association. The figure was up from about 100,000 shutdowns in a September survey. The Washington-based trade group shared the latest results with Congressional leaders in an attempt to secure financial support for a sector rocked by rising costs and falling sales.
"The restaurant industry simply cannot wait for relief any longer," Sean Kennedy, executive vice president of public affairs at the association, said in a letter to Congress. "What these findings make clear is that more than 500,000 restaurants of every business type -- franchise, chain and independent -- are in an economic free fall."

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — The Virginia Military Institute removed a prominent statue of Confederate Gen. Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson on Monday, a project initiated this fall after allegations of systemic racism roiled the public college.
Around 9:45 a.m., a crane plucked the larger-than-life statue that freshmen were once required to salute off its base and slowly hoisted it to the ground. A small crowd gathered on the mostly empty campus in Lexington where Jackson taught, quietly looking on amid flurries of snow.
The statue was the latest in a long list of Confederate tributes to be removed across the U.S. in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and the racial justice movement that followed. The college, which had resisted calls to remove the Jackson statue over the summer, changed course in October after The Washington Post published a story that described an “atmosphere of hostility and cultural insensitivity” at VMI, the oldest state-supported military college in the U.S.
