Trump signs executive order insisting on classical architecture in government buildings

[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] President Donald Trump wants to make federal architecture 'beautiful' again

The White House released a Trump-signed executive order on Monday that called for 'classical architecture' to be used for future federal buildings

The order applauds the styles of Neoclassical, Georgian, Federal, Greek Revival, Beaux-Arts and Art Deco architecture, while criticizing Brutalism and more modern designs

It suggests that there are a number of buildings the president finds problematic, including a federal courthouse in Utah that is said to resemble a 'Borg Cube' from 'Star Trek'

#1 Several decades ago the University of Oklahoma took a second look at some of the newer buildings. One monstrosity was called the "Waring Blender" for it's *ahem* impact on the skyline. They decided that all new constructions needed to be Cherokee Gothic or at least harmonize with the old style using a red brick with cream colored stone trim.

The overall view has much improved...
