Man nabbed over bomb threat
|
[Straits Times] PARIS police say a 22-year-old man has been detained in a probe into several recent bomb threats at crowded city sites.
Good. Congratulations to his captors! | The Paris police headquarters said on Thursday that after his arrest the day before the man had admitted calling in the false alerts. The man's name was not released.
The French police are not constrained by the same ROE as American police. French criminals discover this, if they've forgotten. | The arrest was linked to a probe into bomb threats at sites including the Galeries Lafayette department store, the Montparnasse train station and the Hotel-Dieu hospital.
French officials have stepped up terrorism vigilance in recent weeks.
The office for Paris regional security says it has received 11 phoned-in bomb or other threats so far this month, compared to one in all of October last year.
