#2 interesting study but in this case it is essentially impossible to get a double blind study and almost impossible to get a valid randomized study where the 'with surgery' and the 'without surgery' samples both come from the same population

The procedures in and of themselves, while major, are not to blame for the increased suicides. A very mis-leading conclusion by the author. It’s the unrealizable expectations of the mentally unbalanced who seek them…..as Grom more succinctly indicated.
