#4 I think if every elected official in Washington had to submit to a biometric scan and answer three "security questions" of their choosing every time they entered the Capitol or the White House, most would forget the answers to one or more of the questions almost immediately, thereby locking themselves out of office.

No way could it not be an immediate improvement.

#6 If Sen. Leahy should die, what're the odds the governor of Vermont, a Republican, would appoint another Republican? If so, it'd upset the balance of power in the Senate. Just the idea of it would be a source of endless complaints from the progressives prior to the appointment. Said stream of complaints might persuade the governor to nominate an Independent or a Democrat instead of an R. Sure hope not.
