#2 My neighbors get almost everything delivered. Often, if the delivery people come to my door by mistake, they act like complete assh*les when told politely that they are at the wrong address. I guess doing gig economy deliveries attracts a certain type.

I read the “no longer work for them” as informing GrubHub or whatever delivery service Mr. Webb’s friend is contracted with that he’s been blackballed. (Yes, I know: to my room) And the other part confirms that the restaurant never had the friend on the payroll — though his misjudgement was allowing his stupid friend, Mr, Webb, to be in the car when he was working.
