#1 ...What would be fun is for the next time the ~~Soviets~~ Russians pull this crap, get the interceptors in place, then query them one more time. When they don't answer, get the interceptors at the bombers' six and light up the fire control radars.

When the Russians complain - and they will - simply reply as politely as possible, "Well, they were not acknowledging the ATCs, so we were afraid they'd been hijacked. Dreadfully sorry."
