#7 Pappy's got the politics right. I know Toni Atkins. Worked with her when she was a City Council Aide on my current project (I was a Project Manager way back then). She's a l3sbian Democrat, but above this stupid shit - or at least I thought so.

#8 The bill wasn't going to go anywhere. It hadn't been fully developed. The initial funding proposal was a no-go, and the second one was DOA after the Democrats got the gasoline tax hike through. So it was a low-risk move with her voters, that gave her some street-cred with the CA Democrat establishment.
