#1 Really folks, this article is likely a "leak" of one of the Obamatrade provisions. Close your eyes and vote for the transition to world wide socialism. Hell meet hand basket.

#2 I want to see the list of exemptions.

#3 "This carbon fee would generate over $2 trillion in revenue over 10 years. It is intended to return every dollar of that to the American people," he said.

Another tax passthru to consumers from the carbon generators.

#4 Given the taxes this would generate, do you think we would actually switch over to anything other than carbon-free sources anytime soon?

#5 And when the worldwide temperature starts to drop so much that it can no longer be hidden, will they drop the carbon tax?

I didn't think so.

#7 OF course all this carbon tax and spend won't dent any upcoming climate change one little degree.

But ten - that isn't the intention is it?

#8 I think if conservatives trusted govt to do what it says it does, they would support a smaller $/ton version given that it is revenue neutral.

By the way, the average car emits about 4-6 tons of CO2 per year so $45/ton. So I think the tax break part of he Whitehouse bill is over stated compared to the tax portion (what a surprise).

#9 Why can't I just plant some trees to absorb my CO2 emissions instead?
