Congresscritters should be held to the same laws they impost on everyone else - except for tripling the sentencing.

#3 They should pass a law stating that no member of the Executive or Legislative branch can do any kind of trading while in office (or for x years afterwards) because they determine the policies that make the stocks go up and down.

Additionally all close relatives should have trades routinely monitored.

If only to avoid the enevitable use of this sort of thing to hassle politicians by those that hate them.

#5 Actually, I tend to agree with them here. They should have legal immunity---otherwise, Bama_DOJ will have all the republicans, and some democrats, in jail in no time.

#6 Watch the court that uses the 14th Amendment (equal before the law) to expand all sorts of intrusions and to expand its authority create a rationale why Congresscritters are above the law. The only protection historically established (and used by Sen. Reid) is protection from libel when talking from the floor. Otherwise they're prosecutable like any other citizens. Of course, some animals are more equal than others.

#7 We need a few amendments:

The 17th Amendment is hererby repealed and replaced with "Senators shall be elected by the legislatures of the individual states with the electoral rules for legislator electors to be decided by each legislation itself."

Amendment: Congressional term limits are imposed as follows: No more than 8 terms or partial terms (exceeding 1 year) in the House of Representatives. No more than 3 terms or partial terms (exceeding 2 years) in the Senate. Office shall be terminated after 20 years total in the House and Senate. Pension Shall not be awarded until completion of 2 terms of creditable service in the senate or 6 terms of creditable service in the House.

Congress shall make no laws respecting citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators, Representatives and Congressional Staff; and, Congress shall make no law respecting the Senators, Representatives and Congressional Staff that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.

No limits on political contributions. All political contributions must be disclosed publicly within 72 hours with the person responsible for the donation, and the person to whom the funding is given and the amount.
