#1 Meanwhile, in a reality closer to this one, Michigan's governor has appointed an emergency financial manager for Detroit, who will take over most financial operations of the city, including bankruptcy if necessary. Rep. Conyers, predictably, is agin' it, and thinks there is no problem there that more free money won't solve.

#6 For each year there's not a surplus, they should execute a random selection of congress, about 10% per year. For each year they've been in congress, their name goes in the bowl, so the longer you're in, the more chance you wind up tied to the stake.

Betcha we'd see budget surpluses real quick.

#7 both parties should be required to vet their candidates to insure:

They are US Citizens
They have an IQ higher than Joe Biden, no I take that back it has to be higher than 100.
They have to have a college degree
They have to pass a test on basic economics
They cannot have a criminal record
they must pay their taxes

Once we get that in place, then we talk about having them all take the MMPI and have a psychological profile done...NO NARCISSISTS allowed.

#8 debt is never a problem ... until somebody wants their money back. then it's a huge problem, esp. if you can't pay.

in the current situation - ultimately it's the American people who are being robbed. Our kids are being robbed of a decent future by this massive build-up of debt.
