That sentence doesn't make sense. Either the SelectaDNA director or the reporter doesn't have the slightest idea what the terms 'DNA strand' and 'chromosome' actually mean.

"Using a UVA light, police can see the markings left by the system and link the offender back to the scene."

So they can sequence these specifically coded DNA strands using a UVA lamp only? No PCR needed?

#6 Why not simply spray the robbers with boiling french fry grease to mark them with easily recognizable 2nd degree burns?

Bonus nerd question: could you use a gas chromatograph to identify grease from a particular McDonald's?
