#2 He has never been in. He has never worn the uniform.I expect he has never considered wearing it or ever desired to wear it. The military is simply a reality he never shared nor ever wanted to share. And its a reality and values many of his Base hate, fear, and spit on almost instinctively.

Am I exaggerating? Am I lyin' to ya?

He's clueless and worse, we are "things" to him. He will use us USE us, as if we were objects. We aren't people to Obama. You will never see him enter a room which is full of men who do what we do for a living because we believe in it. He knows what we think of his kind. And he may even have a perverse subconscious wish to rub it in our faces.

Dont forget him. Dont forget who elected him. Dont forget what you fight for and WHO you are.
Petraeus will be head of CIA very soon. He will be at the heart of the civilian power structure and a large part of his power and presence will be hidden even within it.
Remember. Petraeus may grow over this next decade. WE may yet have our own man. Remember.

I turned the sound off, fast forwarded about halfway where he begins shaking hands. Some don't even smile when shacking his hand.

I remember soldiers hanging all over Bush when pictures were being take, patting him on the back. None of that here.

#9 I don't get it. Obama is supposedly a master of speechifying. A ceremony like this may have little personal value to him, but it is a public relations event. You would expect even a lowly county commissioner to have enough PR savvy to make an effort to get the names right.

#10 IMHO, General Petraeus is trying to protect the country and his troops while the O virus works its way through the country. It is a holding action, but this is what can be done with the resources that he has in his kit at this time.

Resigning will not make things better, so he is toughing it out.

As far as O goes with TOTUS, it is a GIGO situation. His speechwriters do not or are unwilling to do the research to get the facts right. O does not know, so his speechwriters are contributing to the debacle that is his administration by their ignorance or lack of caring.

#12 AP I like your thoughts on this subject. Something good may yet develop. General Petraeus is one of our best he was adistinguished cadet from the United States Military Academy in 1974.
