#3 Russia didn't provide them with Tech Transfer for the Al-31 engines. Complete engines are shiiped in from Russia. By contrast, the Indian contract specifies local manufacture of the engines.

#6 Bet there are few if any buyers.
Lousy sales pitch,

#7 I think I would rather go up against the Tigers in a crop duster than against gravity in a Chinese knock-off Flanker. Fine Chinese export craftsmanship along with who knows how much lead. Don't be putting one in your mouth is all I'm saying!

#8 Russia is already having trouble with MiG-29's. Having a second source for some gear might be attractive to some buyers.
