#1 Liberals hiding behind women and children, and trying to get out of the consequences of their actions: why am I not surprised?

#2 The community has the money to pay the rent and fees on a city center property to keep it vacant for pique, but not to feed its own poor children? I am appalled at their callousness. Never trust The Man!

#4 Boxer, you and your husband are just wrong. Your state is wrong. Berkley is just a disgrace, and that mayor, curse him and the town he rode in on. Bunch of 5 year olds.

#6  Bates, a retired Army captain,

We now know why he was never promoted to major.

#7 Great pics!

Unidentified patriot confronts hippie seditionists outside Berkeley Marine Corps recruiting office.
The Berkeley cops let these saboteurs block the door for 7 1/2 hours before cutting their chains and arresting them.

Unlike faithful Rantburgers, these fifth-columnists have obviously never heard of the Massacre of the Comet Wardens (comment #3)

#8 Wrong choices are life-altering... They are the same California political group who associate with those who challenged (and terminated) the US opportunity toward nuclear energy expansion. (Fonda comes to mind.)

Had they kept their traps shut, perhaps we'd have had an ease from the Middle east today...
(And this might have meant fewer struggles for our troops.)

#16 Quietly, some "right wing wit" like T. Boone Pickens should start buying up properties in Berkeley, then all at once, fill them with surly Iraq war veterans and their surlier spouses.

Start a loud and boisterous veterans' club and auxiliary, pass out patriotic t-shirts, organize them into a political bloc to stuff candidates on to the city council, etc.

It would invariably work, as though outnumbered, their swinish opponents are cowardly and sniveling.

#17 As of 9:13 AM Central Time Saturday morning the city of Berkeley's web site is down.

Either was overloaded and crashed or the city asked it to be taken down. May not be able to handle the email load or trying to hide contact information.

#18 To allow the hacks haunting city hall in Berkeley to hide behind the kiddies, cops, medics and the university is even more wrong

just like the Islamists. Boomer cowards still hiding behind mommy's skirt.

Of course it is down; it runs on BSD. ;-) Linux (Linux is no stinking GNU) that is the patriotic choice. :-)

#21 The City Council, by giving Code Pink a reserved parking space in front of the recruiting office (to facilitate Coce Pink's ability to have access and therefore demonstrate in front of) has placed itself squarely on the side of the Pinkso. They are knee deep in this and should rightly be made to suffer. Using kids as defacto humans shields is pathetic. Just when I think I cannot possibly despise The Left any more than I do...they provide a reason.

#22 These politicians are just doing their job - following the will of their constituents. Sadly, there are many (so-called) Americans today who either agree with the Code Pinkos, or at least sympathize with them, and the USMC and the rest of us have to defend them at the same time we defend the Constitution and ourselves.

#23 In an interview Friday, Bates said he has received more than 1,000 e-mails on the resolution, mostly from "the right wing that has really seized up on this and mobilized to pound us."

Ya know why, Tom? Cuz ya make it so fuckin easy...

#24 Both the Berkley and Code Pink websites are "unavailable". So much for free speech.

DeMint's website is taking comments, however.

#25 So Mayor Bates is a 'retired' Army Captain? Drawing retirement pay after 20, or leaving his enlistment after 6 years is moonbateeze for 'retirement'? Inquiring minds need to know.
Any connection to the Motel magnate Bates'?

#27 Google has a cached copy here.

Looks like he served a few years, made money in real estate & then he and his wife have traded off being in the California legislature and running Berkeley.

#28 Read about the man in the cached google page. Spent his intire life living off of and spending tax payer money on the state (government postitions) and federal level (army and federal money spent on city and state projects).

Then wants to boot the very people preventing terrorists from attacking and destroying what America built.

#33 interesting pictures. usual suspects: bitter- faced, short-haired, self-righteous grandmom. Long-haired, aging hippie in need of a cause to give his life meaning. Placid faced, well meaning pacifist.

The one guy in the back with glasses and well trimmed beard could be a Muslim. (2nd row far right)

#34 "Numerous young men tried to get past the protesters but the doors were chained. The 'first responders' (police) just stood across the street and watched."

So, let me get this straight. These dickwads masquarading as police officers allowed the second-tier dickwads ("Code Pink") to block an emergency exit with chains?!

This is a serious violation of all Fire codes I know of and, for a "police officer" to knowingly allow this to happen, I believe, would be an accessory to a Felony under state law.

#35 Someone should have arrested the cops who let this happen. Will be interesting to see if ANY charges are pressed. Against anyone.

One sure thing, these pinkos would never protest outside of a mosque!

#36 Let's see - another approach: Quietly add a set of REAL shackles - to which they don't have the keys - to each of the parasite's restraints. Let them sit there chained in place for a couple of weeks.
