#1 Ahmad contacted Bibi this week, saying he was ready to forgive her, Gul said. During a visit by Bibi to her parents' house, Ahmad slit her throat as she slept and then killed the other three girls, Gul said.

The mother is forfeit, as well, as it must be her fault. Actually anyone will do - anyone but Ahmad, of course, must bear the guilt of this betrayal of his honor. Poor man. I grieve for him, for his many losses in this treachery.

By employing deceit and killing the younger sisters, innocent by any stretch of the imagination, Ahmad proves himself to be a True Lion of Islam. Anything less would have disqualified him.

What a barbaric pestilence to humankind is this Islam.

#2 His honor was besmirched - what else could he have done? I'm sure that the courts will view his case with the sympathy that it deserves.

#3 Although the AP article says

'...Hundreds of women are killed in Pakistan every year, many by male relatives, after they are accused of staining their families' honor...."

It would not surprize me if the true number were well over 5,000; and when disfigurement is added, the total may be over 10,000.

But membership at Augusta Country Club is more important I suppose.
